Great hotel restaurant is excellent staff very friendly. Read more in the book I wrote a true light hearted read download my book on Kindle or via Kindle App on your phone it's called Backpacking with Suitcases
A classical hotel for quit vacations. Good food, nice pools. Nothing interesting nearby. The hotel is more for families with children then for young people. the h The sea is very quite because of the location. The hotel is located in a kind of low place with a huge lagoon that is why the sea looks there more like a lake.
Simply brilliant. My wife and I made a return visit to Slano in October, having visited for the first time with our son and daughter in June. The fact that we returned (unusual for us) says a lot about the hotel, the Staff and the location. We love the place. The hotel is excellent, great facilities, wonderful staff, very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The food is buffet style and is to a very good standard and the catering staff are eager to please.... I love my food and no complaints from me. Croatia is a beautiful place to visit with stunning views and wonderful, friendly people. The Admiral Grand Hotel is highly recommended.
We had a wonderful relaxing week here at the end of October luckily the weather was lovely. Not much open in Slano just a supermarket and a few bars but bus to Dubrovnik goes from outside hotel and takes about 30 mins The staff at hotel were excellent, indoor pool and spa wonderful the outdoor pool was too cold to use. Varied selection on offer for breakfast and dinner only negative drinks were a bit expensive compared to outside hotel. Room was spacious and exceptionally clean with small balcony overlooking the bay, Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing break in 5star luxury
We booked a Thomson's package holiday for our first visit to Croatia as we didn't know what to expect and we wanted a little bit of a safeguard. This hotel is a little bit of luxury for a couple like us who are used to cheap budget hotels. Bathrobes and slippers in the rooms for example! The pool and beach area is clean and well equipped with complimentary beach towels. The 'beach' is actually gravel but that didn't bother us as we don't particularly like sand. The food is excellent. We stayed half board but even stayed in for lunch a couple of times because the pizza's were very good. For breakfast you can expect fruit, bread, cereal, eggs, bacon, beans, yoguarts, cold meats, hot and cold drinks - there is something for everyone. In the evening there was always at least three different meats, two fish and lots of vegetarian options. I'm not a vegetarian but some evenings I didn't eat any meat because the veggie options were so good! Slano is a beautiful little village and we felt perfectly safe walking and exploring both day and night. It is a very quiet village, there is no nightlife here (apart from the hotels own nightclub which we visited once and was okay for a little dance) There are three restaurants in the village, three shops and a bar. If you want to make the most of your days and spend quiet evenings then this is the place to come. From the hotel you can see a little white church on top of a hill - its a touch 20 minute hike but worth it to look back down on the hotel and over the bay - stunning! The hotel also has a reasonably well-equipped gym which for some reason is not advertised on the website. We used it several times along with running along the coastline. There is a bus stop right outside of the hotel that takes you to Dubrovnik. Very convenient and not too expensive. When you get to the bus station in Dubrovnik you then have to get a second bus to get you to the old city. You can get the number 1,2 or 3 bus there and back. We got the 9 o clock bus from the hotel and spent a full day exploring Dubrovnik arriving back at 5pm. All in all this is a lovely hotel in a beautiful village location with good transport links to Dubrovnik
The hotel is set in a sheltered bay with beautiful views all around. On arrival we were checked in by Marija who was very friendly and helpful. Our room was perfect with a lovely sea view kept spotlessly clean by the housekeeping staff. Breakfast and dinner are buffet style with plenty of choice to suit most tastes. The hotel would suit anyone looking for a stress free relaxing holiday. Sun loungers are numerous no need for the ridiculous practice of putting towels on. Martin the pool attendant is very helpful providing towels pedalos kayaks etc. Slano is very quiet unspoiled by tourism with a couple of very small "supermarkets". There is a couple of nice walks around the bay take a right out of the reception and walk to the marina to the Perast restaurant where you can have a meal or just a drink on the sea front. We had a very pleasant stay at the Admiral thanks to the hardworking staff.
I loved this hotel; it's in a beautiful setting, has great facilities, lovely staff, excellent food, nice rooms, beautiful view, just perfect! It's so peaceful that you cannot but relax and unwind. We booked it a long time ahead of our recent stay, like 11 months ahead, and were surprised and grateful to receive a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite on the 1st floor, rather than the family room we had booked! It's in a rural setting, so I would recommend hiring a car at Dubrovnik Airport. I paid less than £80 for a VW Golf sized car from Avis. As I'm apparently an 'Avis Preferred' customer, they gave us a free upgrade to an Audi Q2!! I guess I've used up my lifetime supply of upgrades on this trip..... I'm surprised by some reviews criticizing the food, which I thought was very good. I would definitely come back another time.
We have just had the best week! Everything from the minute we got picked up from the airport was fantastic. Check in was quick and friendly. The view from our sea view room was stunning. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The food on the buffet was varied and plenty of choices. The beach was very clean and there was plenty of sunbeds. The inside pool & Jacuzzi were lovely. The outside pool was a bit chilly but I think that was down to the time of year. Slano is a small quiet village with a couple of restaurants and 2 small grocery stores and a cafe/bar. The bus stop is right outside the hotel and buses run every couple of hours. The ride is about 40 mins to the bus station then another 10 mins on a local bus to the old town. I would definitely recommend this hotel if your looking for a quite peaceful break.
We have just returned from Admiral after 2 weeks stay.We stayed previously in May of this year and just had to go back again as we find it perfect in all ways.I reviewed it previously but had to review again as they deserve it. Upon entering our room there was a big bowl of complimentary fruit waiting for us,what a lovely start. We had emailed before we flew out asking for a 3rd floor room and this was provided for us no problem, nice when a request is granted.Food on offer at breakfast had many options, fry ups, cereals, fruits, yoghurts, pancakes, eggs cooked to order however you like, buns, fresh bread and fruit juices, coffee, numerous types of teas and cappuccino if you ask the waiter. Dinner was buffet style with many many choices, something for everyone I can assure you and all gorgeous.I have read reviews which describe the food as bland but i Honestly cannot understand how anyone can say that,I'm a Yorkshireman and i like my food and like value and Admirals food ticks both boxes. Our room was cleaned every day to a good standard, towels were changed every day, toiletries were replenished every day too. Staff who we encountered were all friendly towards us and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them we found. They all spoke English with us in a much better way than my attempts at Croatian! We will be returning when they open again next year,I think that says it all.
I booked this five day trip for my sisters birthday through secret escapes and we have been so impressed. Lovely spacious room and excellent food offerings for half board basis. The spa facilities are amazing especially the Hamamm and getting some treatments later today. Weather has been very warm for this time of year and we got the bus into the old town which is right outside the hotel. The old town is definitely worth a visit and would recommend using uber for way home at night as much cheaper than taxi. I would say the hotel is aimed towards older guests as the entertainment is minimal and could be improved for a five star hotel but overall we have lived our stay and staff have been excellent
