The apartment is very spacious with great sea views from little balconies. The host Laura was very communicative and helpful throughout our 3 night stay. Major issue, no parking outside, which it states there is. We couldn’t even drive to the property to drop off our bags due to a new restriction zone in the city which we were not made aware of. We had to park at the other end of the city (40euros a day) and get a taxi to the apartment. Same again on the way out. To their credit the management of the apartment did partially refund us for the unexpected costs we had incurred due to no parking. There are a lot of steps from the street to get to the apartment, which is almost in the top floor, and no lift. If you have heavy cases then this might be a problem. The bedroom floor was dirty, with litter and empty drinks bottle lying under the bed. The shower fitting was broken, so you had to hold the shower head manually to actually take a shower. One of the towels was frayed with a whole in it, and there was no way to light the gas hob. The bed was comfy, as was the living room sofa. Small local shop at the bottom of the stairs was used on several occasions to buy provisions. While the apartment has its issues we did manage to enjoy our stay overall. Do bear in mind it is approximately 30 mins walk to the historic centre and longer coming back as it is all uphill and steps.

Home from home (in Dubrovnik)

The apartment was very functional and was well equipped for a family of four. We were able to cook quite happily and head into Dubrovnik centre when we wanted to. being the thrill seeker that I am, I even decided to put a laundry wash on and use the dishwasher. It was clean with two balconies with a wonderful view over the Aegean and Island of Lokrum. The apartment is up high and walking back from the Old Town is pretty strenuous and takes significantly longer with more effort than the walk down. There are however taxis from the old town who will take you back for €10 –€20. The communication with the people running the apartment was excellent how many mate to film most welcome. The block in which we were staying is primarily residential and you must be thoughtful with regard to the people who live there full time. There was Wi-Fi in the apartment without which my sons would surely perish, so I’m pleased to report there were no casualties. One other thing, the old town is extremely expensive and it is worth going to the other side of Dubrovnik around Lapad which has a much more relaxed vibe..

Fin leilighet med alt man trenger. Fin beliggenhet ca 1 km fra gamlebyen og kort vei til stranden. Bratt terreng i hele området og du må være forberedt på å gå mange trapper 🙂
