Times Hostel - Camden Place

The hostel itself is at a nice location, close to a bunch of bars for going out and centrally located for a lot of touristy sight-seeing. The rooms are clean and nice, the bathrooms are great (surprisingly good water pressure), and there is a cute mixer gimmick every day (free pancakes, free sangria, etc), so it's super easy to meet people to go out with and hang it with if you're traveling solo. The staff are super nice, super chill, and super informed. Would definitely recommend!

I was traveling alone for the first time and wasn't quite sure what to do. I'm also kind of a shy person so that can make things a bit more difficult. However, The Times has these daily social events; because of this I met many amazing and interesting people!! The workers at the hostel were quite possibly some of the coolest people ever!! They really make you feel welcome and like you're part of the family. I stayed in a couple different hostels over the course of this week and none of them can compare to The Times. I would especially like to thank Diego for suggesting the free walking tour around Dublin as well as many other things. I learned a lot and really felt like home there. Whenever I get the chance to go back to Dublin, I know I'll be staying here again. Thank you!!!

This is the place young people would love: walking distance from the city centre, evenings organised by the staff, kitchen open 24/7. However, the size of the room for 4 is half of the size of a prison cell.

I want to be clear that the staff and accommodation at the property are fine. Staff was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately I was in room 15 which faces N and directly across from the hostel is a dance club (Krystle I think). This club is LOUD until midnight or later and then the drunken kids are outside until 2-3 AM. Made it tough for this old codger to get a good night's sleep.

Unfortunately, during my stay in this hostel there was music and noise all night long in the common areas which you could clearly hear in the rooms. I have stayed in hostels like this before but never paid so much for something like this. Seems that the hostel is fine with the noise, as if it was part of the experience , they organize evening events and so on. But I don't understand why some people bother going to Dublin and instead of experiencing the amazing Irish pubs, they stay partying in the hostel all night long. The hostel provide free earplugs but I would just recommend people to stay in here only if willing to join the party.

We stayed at the Times Hostel at Camden Place while we were in Dublin, and although small, it was a great place to stay in terms of location for a jam packed few days in Dublin. The room was tiny, we had a private room which had bunk beds and a bathroom. It was essentially a box room and there wasn't any room for anything but the basics. You can store your suitcases under the bed and there is just enough room to walk to the bathroom. There are no bedside tables so if you put your phone on charge it will be on the bed. We did know it was going to be basic but I had hoped there was enough room between bunks to sit upright in the morning. Unfortunately the top bunk was very low so you couldn't sit up on the bed. This made it a little uncomfortable and I think if they were to make this small improvement it would make a huge improvement to the comfort in a small room. There were however some very nice communal areas which could have been used if you wanted to spend some time at the Hostel. However, this was a compromise we were willing to make. We only stayed two nights so only needed a place to leave our stuff. We were really close to the city centre, only a 10 minute walk to Grafton Street or 15 minutes to Temple Bar. It was a superb location and the staff we friendly enough so we were happy with our stay.

I stayed at this hostel before, in 2013. Back then, I liked it very much, so I decided to stay there again, with my familiy, and was not disappointed. I cannot write about the shared dorms, since both times I stayed in a private room. This time, the room had two bunk beds and was a little tiny, but there was enough room for three people. Everything was very clean, including our bathroom, which had a very good shower. The beds were comfortable, with good linen. The wi-fi worked well. The staff was always very friendly and helpfull. Every evening there is a special event at the hostel, such as free pasta, free wine and cheese, free pancakes... and the common areas are nice. We paid 3 euros for the breakfast, and it was worth it. There was bread, cheese, ham, cereal, milk, coffee, chocolate, fruits and a few other things. The location of the hostel is also very good, within walking distance from the city centre and the main attractions. It would be a perfect hostel... if not for the noise. There are two nightclubs nearby and they play loud music every day, the whole night long, making it difficult to sleep for most people. I don't have problems with noise, but I'm aware that most people do. They provide free earplugs at reception, and it helped the rest of my familiy. Our room faced the street, though. A friend of mine stayed in a room that faced the other side and said that he could hear no noise from there.

Had a 3 night stay at The times hostel in a 3 bed private room, first time in a hostel and was pleasantly surprised! Very clean, friendly and welcoming environment. Staff were happy to help with anything we asked (mainly directions as we were terrible) even at 4am the staff took the time to talk to us all! The hostel its self is off a high street road which meant it's convenient for shops, cafes, restaurants etc. Tescos a 2 minute walk was a blessing for us! If not walking the other way out of the hostel through the tunnel lead you on to a main road which has 4 clubs on it again perfect for us as we were 20 and wanted to party! Highly recommend Diceys garden! Gorgeous venue! We had a great time in Dublin visited the Dublin zoo, leprechaun museum, Guinness storehouse, bus tour and went on the back packers pub crawl. The hostel can be noisey if facing the back because of the clubs but you can't hear anything with the windows shut and they have free ear plugs if required. They offer a fully equipped kitchen as well as a different event every night. Free dinner, ice cream night, wine and cheese night etc which was really nice of them to offer. I highly recommend this hostel after staying even as my first I went thinking that a hostel couldn't be nice and what was I in for but it was well decorated, nice, clean and friendly with free wifi clean beds and bathroom.

Myself and 4 of my friends stayed for a long weekend in Dublin and had a fantastic stay here. As it was a lot cheaper than a hotel we thought it would be just somewhere to sleep but it was much more. The staff are lovely and very accommodating, they respond quickly to emails and were very helpful with anything we needed to know. Our friend was staying a day after us and the staff were great at helping us make sure she was allocated to our room. The room we had was just to ourselves with its own bathroom and this meant we felt our stuff was a lot safer and we could talk and pre drink in the room which was ideal. The facilities were very clean and comfortable. The hostel offer a different thing each day whether it be drinks or pancakes and this was a lovely touch and meant you could meet some people in the hostel. The location was great as well we could access everything and it is a short walk from the clubs which was perfect after a night out as we felt safe and saved money on taxis. It is also close to shops such as Tesco so you can easily walk and purchase food and drink as you need to or explore Dublin. If I was to stay in Dublin again I would definitely stay here and highly recommend especially to a group.

I stayed at the times hostel for 4 nights. The apartment in itself was not the best, but it was nice and clean and the staff was so helpful! Would recomend this to anyone just needing a place to stay in Dublin for a cheap visit:-)
