Clean hostel, friendly staff. As usual, met some fun people in the lounge area. I rented a solo room because I had equipment to look after. There are some **massive** lines for entry to the bars around the corner. Some windows are directly above these lines. I didn't experience it, but supposedly it's loud.
Without negative impressions. Nice place for budget trip. Located in city center, close to shops and pubs. Easy to find. Friendly stuff, clean room.
It was in a great location, walkable to everything in Dublin. It was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. But the common rooms become drinking parties at night, where "20 somethings" drink themselves silly and make loads of noise. The common area is impossible to sit and read in or work on your computer once the nightly drinking starts. Empty beer bottles and cans everywhere! Moreover, it is extremely noisy outside, because hoards of drunks from the nearby bars pass by the hostel windows all night long drunk, screaming, fighting, singing. The mattresses are flat and lumpy. I had springs sticking in my ribs all night. I didn't get a wink of sleep the two days I stayed at this hostel, but chose to stay because the price was right and the location was great. Good hot water, but you have to pay extra for breakfast and a towel. The website is misleading because it says there is free pancake breakfast on the weekends (which is why I chose this place) but that is not true. The hostel needs to update its website.
