Me and my friend, we stayed just for one night but would have loved to prolong the stay. Everything was perfect since we came till we left. Staff, food, facilities, room.. view is just gorgeous. Everything around is green. Suitable for couples and families too.
Had the most amazing stay with my family, it really did feel like home from home throughout our entire stay. The team are amazing and couldn't do enough for us. The staff address us by name while remembering our preferences, from the poolside to the Gazebo restaurant. Truly amazing service. Loved being entertained by the lovely Bonita each evening. Thank JA Hatta Fort Hotel, I will be back.
The JA Hatta Fort Hotel is a beautiful hotel, large enough to still feel warm and welcoming, with well maintained green landscaping. The staff is very friendly and caring and the management is attentive to all inquiries. The pictures on the hotel website are a true reflection of what it actually is, which we appreciated a lot. The only negative feedback I would have is about the food outlets: the food is overpriced with not enough a-la-carte variety and the service is slow. The hotel is more on the expensive end but worth the visit. We will definitely go back if we catch a good price package.
We were a bit weary having read TI reviews on poor service but were pleasantly surprised with the level of attention and friendliness we received. We stayed for just one night having driven from Dubai. The check in was quick and the room spacious and well equipped. The staff’s knowledge on their own city’s tourism activities is limited (you find more sponsored brochures on everything but the local culture). But having addressed this with the management, this is clearly something they are actively working on. Hopefully they will have better guides on how to enjoy Hatta and it’s surroundings next trip out.
We stayed for one night in January to escape Abu Dhabi for a night and couldn't have been more pleased. Firstly the service was second to none and the staff couldn't have done anymore including Deborah who had taken the time to write a hand written thanks. The hotel does look a little old from the outside but the rooms have obviously been renovated and the entire facilities are great for a couple and for a family. We had happy hour at the bar, dinner at the restaurant which was all great. We then hired bikes (extremely easy) and went to hatta bike trails which was only a few KM away. Yes the hotel is a bit expensive but its worth the money and considering its the only decent one in the area its a fair price compared to others in other cities for the value you get. I'd recommend anyone to stay here and I'll be back. R
We did an overnight stay at the hotel following a road cycle over to Kalba - so were pretty tired and just looking to relax. It's the first time we've been to the hotel since it was refurbished and what a difference. The rooms are lovely, clean crisp interiors, with a great balcony overlooking the mountains. Nice bathroom, with a good shower (always important to us). The food has also improved vastly, we ate lunch, breakfast and dinner at the hotel and all were very good. My husband also commented on how good the cappuccino was, it's a big bear of his that 5 star hotels often have awful coffee, not Hatta Fort - they passed the test. We use the mountain bike trails close to the hotel regularly so decided that we would follow the hiking trail signs from the mountain bike centre to see where it led us. 8km later we ended up at Hatta Dam - which is just awesome, we will definitely go back there to kayak and do the other 3km loop walk from the dam area. But the main reason for writing this review is for the staff, they really are excellent, which is rare in Dubai, they are very knowledgeable, helpful, many have been there a longtime and they genuinely want to help you - not once did we see a "rabbit in the headlights" expression, I commend JA Hotels for investing in their staff and treating them well so they do want to stay with the hotel. We would definitely recommend the hotel, for those who like to be outdoors and sporty it's perfect, you can rent Mountain bikes onsite, there is archery, hiking, get out there and explore, it's beautiful.
Nice place and facilities. But food, beverage could be better and front staff could be more customer friendly The front staff lack knowledge about the various kinds of reservation done by guests. They should be made aware of this.
Let’s make it short and sour: 1. Brought the family from Dubai (2 hrs drive) to see the damn & dropped by the hotel after around 6 pm for coffee!! 2. Unpleasant surprise no. 1: we had to pay aed 50 pp at the main gate! 3. Went to the open restaurant “Gazibo” - found it to be very stuffy and staff did not even acknowledge us at the beginning then when we returned from outside it took a while for one of the staff to seat us & did not even clear the remaining mayonnaise from the previous guests. (Image attached) 4. A towel was left at a chair to the table onext to us and a group of 4 were seated while the towel remained there! Until I brought that to their attention. 5. The table next to us was not cleared since we came to the restaurant (image attached) until 7.20 pm 6. Cutlery was placed on table but no plates. 7. We were informed that the restaurant will be closed by 7 but and the staff will be shifted to another outlet but “we can still eat what we ordered” !!! What kind of training program do you have in place for your staff!!!!!!!!!!? 8. Draft beer had no foam & had it changed. 9. Pizza was relatively fine. 10. The invoice took more than 10 min to be processed & we were the only table there which paid! Not a Hotel Experience !!!!!
The location of this hotel is perfect, however I cannot say the same about the service. Upon arrival we asked for the beds to be seperated into twin beds, this was to be done by the time we returned in the evening. It was not. It took another half an hour for them to do this after chasing a lot. The hotel phone does not work meaning I had to use my phone, so coupled with poor service it meant I used my mobile a lot. My brother was ill so we required water, I requested this and it took 3 hours for a bottle of water to come after several chasing phone calls. When this was raised at check they deducted the cost of the water from the bill. Well that was generous... not! When eating at their gazebo cafe there were a lot of flies not allowing us to eat in peace, this may or may not have caused my brothers food poisoning, I know there’s not much you can do about flies but I’ve seen at other restaurants staff swatting flies away with an electronic bat. It took at least half an hour to get a waiter to come and take our order and likewise when we needed the bill. I don’t think the service was malicious but it was pure ignorance and lack of importance given to the guests considering I paid 150£ for one night . I wouldn’t re visit unless I was stranded and needed a place to stay for the night.
We stayed in December, short term for some hiking in the mountains. The room was very spacious with a large bathroom and a nice balcony. The staff is very attentive and friendly. When we left, our son forgot shoes in the room, so the manager of housekeeping Tahir drove them back to Dubai to return them to us. Thank you Tahir. Very recommendable and family friendly place.
