I stayed at Grand Millennium Business Bay in Dubai for my honeymoon/vacation, and while the hotel is decent in some ways, the overall experience fell short because of the service.
Room & value: The room quality is exactly as shown online—modern, clean, and generally comfortable. The building and amenities are also not bad for what you’re paying, so from a value standpoint, it’s a solid option. That said, the bathroom and shower could definitely be better.
Service (inconsistent and disappointing): The biggest issue was how inconsistent the service was. Some staff at the front desk were kind, but others (including concierge/guest services over the phone) came across as passive-aggressive and not helpful. I mentioned multiple times that I was there for my honeymoon, and I barely even received a simple “congratulations,” let alone anything thoughtful. I wasn’t expecting a free upgrade—just basic warmth and acknowledgment. I was told they would try to make my stay more special (towel art, possibly a complimentary upgrade), but none of it happened, and there was no follow-through.
Flowers incident (lost trust): I also had flowers delivered to the hotel, and what should’ve been a nice moment became frustrating. They made it surprisingly difficult to get something as simple as water for the flowers—no vase, and they were rude about providing an alternative like a bucket.
