Our stay here was provided by Qatar Airways as part of their free stopover program. We had a lengthy gap between flights (6am-3am), so just wanted somewhere close to the airport to sleep for a while. Free transfers were offered - we had arrived ahead of schedule so we had to call the hotel from the airport information desk and wait about twenty minutes. All easy enough though. The hotel is certainly not in a tourist area, and I'm not really sure what its clientele would be. The decor is quite strange - a sort of sculpted concrete grotto entrance-way, "Arabian" furnishings, combined with a lot of heavy wood doors, and rather odd use of wooden branches for railings. Hard to describe, quite intriguing, but not immediately attractive when combined with sleep deprivation and jet lag. The room was actually a separate bedroom with twin beds, bathroom, and a sitting area with sofas plus kitchenette. Everything felt a bit dirty and musty, although the sheets were clean and we slept fine for most of the day. Unfortunately, I tried to use the kettle, but the plug wasn't the right sort for the sockets. I didn't see any evidence of room service, and I'm not sure that the restaurant served food outside of breakfast and dinner times. The roof top cafe mentioned on the website wasn't functional during our stay (I think there may have been maintenance or construction work going on). We ended up leaving in the late afternoon, and spending our remaining time at the airport. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you are in the mood for odd decor and disconcerting ambiance, but would suggest you reconsider booking here if you are after a straightforward and comfortable stopover experience.

We had a 9 hour layover in Doha and decided to go for this hotel as they have a free shuttle to and from the airport. The shuttle is 24/7 and they meet you at arrivals, so no waiting around for set times, which was just what we needed. For this reason and based on the price we paid, I give the hotel 5 stars on tripadvisor. We booked the cheapest suite and it was more than big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. The bedroom had 2 single beds and 2 extra beds were made up in the living area. Although we didnt use any of the facilities, I did see a washing machine, microwave, cooker, massive fridge and utensils, so if you are looking for self catering, it looks like a good option.

We decided to spend a night in Doha after our first ever 17.5 hour flight. (Not sure how we would feel after a single flight of that length) After booking it through the travel agent because of its close proximity to the airport, I would find it hard to rate it a four star hotel. Maybe the other rooms - but the standard suite was definitely only a 3 star. Aside from the no tea or coffee or facilities, there were lots of bits and pieces broken and not useable. But, we slept like a log and woke up feeling refreshed. The only thing to add would be that they are constructing a multi story building so the construction noise started before 6am when I awoke.

We stayed here one night during our way to France and its says 04 star while i was booking a Triple room. But there was only 02 separate beds when we enter the room. and toilets was very duty and not clean at all. Staff was very friendly but over all i must stay they have to maintain the star please do check and book its not worth for money that you are spending.

I have often been in Doha for work and in different hotels, this is certainly an excellent location with an excellent, value for money. The rooms are large, a bit old-fashioned but clean. It's near the airport and you reach services quickly. The employees are friendly and helpful. A good choice.

Just had a stopover and stayed here 1 night. The room was very spacious, but looked old and did not feel particularly clean. While coming back in the afternoon too pick up my luggage I realized I missed a jacket. The reception tried looking for it, called the cleaning staff etc, but it was nowhere to find. The next day I realized another shirt and a book was missing from my stay here. I was in contact with the hotel for a week after, trying (with difficulty) communicating with them on phone and email, during which they asked me to look through my bag again...I was offered a free night at the hotel I should say, but would obviously never stay in this place again.

I stayed here with my daughter who was on a short visit to Qatar. This hotel is situated inside Doha city with access to almost everything. The staff in general are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very very spacious and clean.

We booked at Al Liwan Suites because we had a 15 hour layover on a flight from South Africa back to England. Al Liwan Suites came up as the most reasonably priced room on We were collected from the airport by a v friendly hotel employee albeit an hour late. The reception staff were again v friendly and organised. The room was clean enough and provided plenty of room for the three of us. The hotel shuttle got us back to the airport in good time the following day. All in all a positive experience and certainly a whole lot better than waiting at the airport.

I stayed here on an overnight layover, hoping to save some money. But it was a real, full suite, with a small kitchen. No bathtub, an amenity I love, but otherwise perfect for me. Very large suite, with TVs in the living area and the bedroom. There is an airport shuttle, which is important. A restaurant, but I did not have occasion to use it; it looked nice. Some of the luxury hotels serve alcohol, but Al Liwan does not; if that is your interest, the duty-free shops air side sell it. Friendly and responsive staff. Wake-up call came right on time, and the shuttle was ready when I checked out. You bet I'd stay again.

Room was well maintained, friendly staffs, good service. Would like to suggest to add more varieties in Food menu. Good gym and well maintained swimming pool. It was a nice stay and expect to stay again.
