We received a wonderful welcome from Martin and Elaine; on arrival, we were offered coffee and home made cake, very nice, there is a well stocked bar, and Breakfast was excellent with a good choice, the toast was made by Martin, it was very nice and plenty of it. An excellent boutique BB in Torque. We certainly will be back.

Lovely friendly welcome, including tea and cake. Delightful room and delicious breakfast- what more could you want. Elaine and Martyn were very friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to eat and things to do.

Had a fantastic 3-night stay here at this unique style B&B. Was well presented with lots of detailed fine touches. Elaine and Martyn were extremely welcoming with tea and cake on arrival and offered great advice on local walks, restaurants and other attractions. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were great too! Would stay again and recommend as excellent value for money.

We were the last to arrive (parking available behind the hotel) and were welcomed with tea and cake. Morocco room was very comfortable and quiet at night. Decorated in Moroccan style (I assume!), efficient wifi, excellent shower (though I would have preferred the wash-basin to be in the bathroom), fan, two chairs and sufficient power points. Well cooked breakfast. All in all, a good stay.

Lovely themed room [Morrocco]. Well maintained and decorated rooms. Perfect hosts and convenient for the sea front and town. Breakfast was a joy and hosts friendly, helpful and with a good sense of humour.

Booked this hotel after reading the brilliant reviews it had. We have to say that we were not disappointed with our choice. Both Elaine and Martyn are excellent hosts and from first meeting them until the time we left we both felt comfortable and happy throughout our stay. From the outset we were made to feel welcome, greeted with the offer of refreshments. We stayed in a King double room which was stunning with everything we expected and more. The rooms are definitely unique which adds to the experience and luxury of staying at this accommodation. Breakfast was varied with plenty of choice to accommodate all tastes and all hot food and beverages were made fresh and to order. The location is close to town, harbour and sea front, we found it to be a great base for exploring the area. We liked how both Martyn and Elaine took the time to advise guests on points of interest and restaurants etc. We both agreed that we would return to the Hillcroft in the future. Was refreshing to stay in a place where the hosts had excellent interpersonal skills and humour. Could not have wished for better accommodation, it is in a quiet location and peaceful for those want to stay in and relax or for those who want to be out exploring.

Excellent place to stay with very kind and accommodating hots. The wonderful themed rooms are a pleasure to stay in with such crisp white sheets and unique furnishings and fittings. There are also objects of interest from abroad dotted around the hotel which lightens the spirit. Breakfast is very good with a lovely tropical fruit salad. Any gluten free or lactose problems are easily resolved. The location was 5-10 walk from the sea and the town with its shops. Surrounding areas of interest easily accessible ie. Brixham by boat, the local Abbey now a museum etc.

Excellent B&B. Stayed 3rd June 2017.Owners lovely. Nothing too much trouble. Complimentary tea, coffee & cake on arrival - never had that before! Accomodation spotlessly clean. Lovely breakfast - recommend the vegetarian cooked breakfast!! Excellent location and excellent value for money.

A warm welcome with coffee and cake. Well stocked bar at reasonable prices. Very friendly owners with a good knowledge of all local amenities restaurants etc. We were in the Bali room which was very well equipped with plenty of storage space and a reasonably sized en suite . Breakfast was excellent with a large choice and all freshly cooked. Intend to visit again later in year.

Cute little B&B with 6 rooms. Elaine and Martyn (the owners) made our stay away very relaxing and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was so tasty. The hotel is a ten minute walk from town which suited us perfectly for exploring Torquay. Would highly recommend this hotel for a few nights away to relax. Was on a quiet road at the top of a hill. Will definitely stay here again
