Hotel Seminario Bilbao

3.0 out of 5.0

The hotel is situated in an enormous seminary and occupies the 4th floor of part of the building. The room, bathroom and everything is very simple. The bed is ok and that is it. The lobby and restaurant also very simple and basic. Price/quality is not very good.

This hotel is right over the flight path for the airport. It is not a good thing when you have to leave windows open because there is no air conditioning. Additionally and for me, the biggest issue: whatever products are used to clean this place are terrible. The hotel hallways AND our rooms smelled so badly I could not stand it. I am sensitive to smells but this was really bad. The hotel was not dirty by any means. It was inexpensive and the food was decent, but no AC and smell ? It's a short cab ride to the airport from town -

We spent two nights here as Bilbao was almost fully booked for the period. Room was nice and clean with a great selection of toiletries. Cleaning staff was somewhat rude and did not allow us to sit in the lounge after they sweeped the floor. We did not choose the breakfast option as the selection did not sound too appealing. But the little bar area in the hotel had a nice selection of tasty pinchos for purchase. We took both buses and taxis to Bilbao. I suggest taking a taxi as bus stop was a 15 minute walk form the hotel and lines were not too frequent (1 hour or more between them).

If you are looking for a place to stay near the airport this hotel is ok. The only positive thing is location. There is no aircon in any of the rooms, only one person spoke English in reception and "breakfast included" is a cup of tea/coffee, croissant and juice. You can't even have a glass of water!

A great location beside Bilbao Airport - 5 mins by taxi - bedrooms are on the top floor and very spacious - not sure what the story with the bar & dining - few staff working in this area & service extremely slow & not the friendliest. Train nearby takes you to Billbao - change to metro along the way

I was a bit concerned after the reviews but the hotel was ok to stay one night - flew out very early the next morning. The room & bathroom were clean, hotel was quiet, only complaint is that the bed was a bit hard but not terrible. Not bad for the price/proximity to the airport, just no frills!

I stayed two nights, one before catching my early morning flight, and upon returning with a late arrival. Very friendly staff, spotless huge room recently refurbished, everything superclean and a great cafeteria behind reception with uncomplicated and delucious food. Perfect for a good night rest. Unpretentious.

we stayed there 1 night for a bussiness trip. the hotel was very huge. with nice decoration . nice view . very good and king stuff!! the only negative is the wifi connection, the signal was not so fuel .and too slow.

First of all, their claim that the hotel is a couple minutes away from the the airport is false. You have to get on the highway and go to the next town. And there was no shuttle (also listed in the ad) to take you there, because the shuttle - which I'll talk about later - only goes from hotel-to-airport and not vice versa. The room was very large, but there was half-eaten food from the last guest on the desk and a wet towel hanging in the bathroom. The WIFI gives a signal, but appears to be "fake". My throat was burning from the leftover cigarette smoke from the previous guest as well. The bed linen, fortunately, was stain-free, so as I was exhausted, I did sleep in it, I used the other clean towel, and then got out. The dining room downstairs is not worth mentioning except for my recommendation that you could probably do better elsewhere. The "shuttle" to the airport was actually a medium-sized sedan in which 4 hotel guests had to squeeze into with their luggage. If this were in a movie I would have laughed!

This hotel is located in a very large building, occupying a few rooms on the fifth floor. The reason for choosing this hotel was it's proximity to the airport. I arrived late night and the building looked empty with only lights on in a few rooms. On the third floor there were some open windows and noises of a person screaming/growling was coming from them (!). Don't know whether there is a psychiatric hospital in the building but the experience was very unpleasant. (I'm not at all discriminating against patients in psychiatric hospitals, but hearing these noises unexpectedly in the pitch dark was very unsettling). I'm sure that the staff had their best intentions, but I did not feel as welcome as I'd expect at a hotel. The interior seemed very old and there was also an unpleasant smell in the room. However, the cleanliness in the bathroom was OK. Planes taking off and landing could be heard and seen from the room. I only stayed one night, but I hope for their sake that this was an unfortunate one.
