Cabin very nice but its not all it says it is.
Pros: the cabin is very nice. Its great to have 1 bedroom and 2 bathrooms. Full size appliances. Easy to get to. Check in was easy. Lots of trails and hiking places. We went over the July 4th holiday. Burn ban in effect and no towns setting off firework displays.
Cons: the back of the cabin is right off the main road. Can hear traffic as it drives by. Is pet friendly but no fencing to be seen. So unless you want to lose your dog to traffic, you will need to constantly keep them on a lease. Cabin is in a cud-de-sac and they are all very close. The other cabins are owner occupied. All day Friday and Saturday, neighbor was working on yard by digging and hammering. Was not the quietest time. Only had 2 bath towels, 2 wash cloths, and 2 hand towels for 4 days and 3 nights. We ended up buying towels at the General store. The deck has a privacy fence on 2 sides and then stairs to go down on the 3rd side. You are not to leave animals unattended so, only 1 of you can use the hot tub at a time unless you want to tie your dog to the deck. If they should get lose, they will probably end up on the road. It would be great to have a gate on the deck for animals or children then you could use the hot tub with safety. Some of the dishes were in the drawers/cabinets dirty. We ended up washing any item before using as most were still dirty, greasy or had food still on them. The vacuum was broken, hose was just hanging there, looked like it had been pulled out of both sockets. Had 5 brooms but not 1 dustpan so you could sweep but nothing to pick up dirt with. Kitchen had 3 dishtowels and 2 dishrags. that's it. I have not seen a mop like they have since 1970. A big old rag mop. With the day of Swiffer's, its hard to believe using a rag mop. No bucket or ringer either. I would recommend checking on your housekeeping staff and stocking the cabin with cleaning appliances that work. The final straw was the DVD player was not plugged in nor hooked up. I am not going to share how much time we spent trying to get it to work as that would reflect poorly on our technical skills. We watched net flicks on our laptop (just made it cozy) till the 3rd day when we got the DVD player to work. Hopefully, it will still be plugged in for the next visitors.
* We did enjoy ourselves. We spent a great deal of time on the trails with our fur babies enjoying hiking, seeing deer, and all the different plants. We got some great pictures of Mt. Baker and the area.
