The executive suite I stayed is worth the money as it was spacious and with good city view. The club lounge benefits is included and the staff are all attentive and pleasant. The hotel is wonderful for both leisure and business trip.
I booked this hotel through expedia to stay from 7/16-7/31. I called expedia on 7/14 to add two breakfasts to my stay. Expedia contact the hotel reservation department manager Merry on 7/14 and Merry told the expedia representative that since I booked for a long stay, hotel would add free breakfasts to my entire stay at no charge as customer appreciation. However, when I checked in this hotel today, the hotel denied about the free breakfasts they promised to add into my reservation two days ago and they forced me to pay the full costs of breakfasts as additional charges. I called expedia to resolve this and the hotel reservation department and front desk both denied about the free breakfasts. They intentionally speak poor English and hung up multiple times on purpose so the expedia customer service representative had hard time communicate with them. Then expedia representative who speaks Chinese contact the hotel, the hotel reservation department lied to the representative saying there is no one named Marry in the department while the hotel front desk confirmed Marry is the manager of the reservation department and she is only not in today and will be back tomorrow. Since expedia kept detailed notes on all the communications and they have proof that they spoke with The hotel reservation manager Marry on 7/14 and expedia is even retrieving the recording of the phone conversation on 7/14 with the hotel to prove that hotel promised free breakfasts for my entire stay. I will count on expedia to resolve this trouble for me. I do not mind paying the costs of breakfasts but hotel should not lie to their customers. I'm only fighting this to teach the hotel to learn to keep their credibility to their customers as basic respect. The hotel also charged me unreasonably high deposits of $1,500 to make sure my payments on the breakfast even though I already paid in full for the entire stay. So disappointed and feeling disrespected and this hotel has no credibility!
Hotel staff were all very polite and helpful. The room we stayed in was fantastic and very well-furnished. We also ordered room service during our stay, and it was very prompt. Highly recommend for business trips, or family holidays.
First morning the coffee machine is broken, so no coffee, second morning I ordered coffee when I sat down, went for the breakfast buffet, I ate everything, waited and no coffee came, so I left. Third morning I ordered coffee when I came in just to save time. I I served myself again from the buffet, I ate everything, I left, went upstairs, brushed my teeth, packed, came down to the lobby, paid my bill, when back to the restaurant and was told, 'your coffee is coming soon sir, please wait!'. Maybe some improvement on service will be appreciated.
Make no mistake, this is a first class hotel in every regard. I was not familiar with the brand name "New World" but I am now, and will look for this name as I continue my travels in Asia. Here are some of my thoughts. First, I wouldn't be writing this if I felt the hotel was average in any way. It is not, it is a premium property in prime condition and with truly nice amenities, and what felt like a hand-picked staff of warm, professional people who love their hotel. I sense that a lot of this flows from Mike, the manager of the hotel, who is a thoughtful and absolutely wise and professional person. I'll talk a bit more about this in a minute,. The rooms are very high quality, the beds are better than anything I've found in the USA. There are electrically controlled window blinds and the bathrooms are large and luxurious. For a moment there I felt like James Bond and thought I might want to call down to have a bottle of champagne delivered to my room. And, not that things feel pretentious or overcooked. I don't like these kinds of places., The New World is just the right balance of luxury and leave-me-alone, all the while the staff is ready at once to help. I guess what I'm saying is that whatever your expectations are of a hotel, you will be comfortable here. And again I think of Mike, who I believe sets the tone and guides his staff to achieve this balance. Which is not to say that the inherently generosity and rigor of the Chinese is not a factor, it is, but I think Mike helps channel this is a nice way. I mean really, you end up thanking everyone when you leave. I made extensive use of the large, luxurious pool, and the two smaller warm/hot hot bath pools at the far end of the main pool. The main pool has a large shallow area suitable (and safe for) children, but is large enough to contain a deeper area for swimming / laps. The hot baths are great. And by the way, the shower / locker rooms are modern, fully equipped and immaculate. There are other layers of amenities that I did not partake in, but here's one that really impressed me: The gym. Here's why: It's not a large gym, it's medium size, but equipped with the best equipment I've ever found in a hotel gym, bar none. If you're looking for some cardio exercise, you're completely covered. But if you're involved in strength training, you're also completely covered, because there's an absolutely smart collection of twelve of the latest Life Fitness and Cybex machines, in addition to free weights, bars, benches, etc. The specific collection of machines - a perfect cross-fire of exercises that span the muscle groups - indicated to me that someone with a lot of knowledge of strength training played a part in the design of the gym. This is an example of why the New World is a top-tier hotel. On my way to the hotel, I broke the screen on my laptop. I went out to purchase a new screen, but ran into Mike ( I think he just knows when to show up), who asked his IT manager to loan me a set of screwdrivers so that after obtaining a new screen, I could install it in my room. Try to stay here, if you can. It's a great hotel.
I was in hotel for several times, but finally I changed my mind and I went to other hotel this time. The main reason was a bad smell all over the floor. I think it was related to sewage. The second reason was bad internet speed, I was there for business but I could not open my email! The worst thing is that prostitutes offer you every time you come in to hotel!! Break fast was not good as I expected from 5 star hotel. To sum up, it is not a special hotel! Better option is available at the same price.
I was satisfied with your counter members' service mind. Most of members that I met in hotel was really kind and nice. but the cleanliness of room disappointed me. (especially duvet cover and bathtub)
I was asked to pay for upgrade when I checked in late afternoon that day. The reason is that there was no clean room and I have to pay more to get a clean room. Waht a stupid reason it is! Of course, I refused to pay, but I was asked to check in later that evening....
I had a very good & enjoyable stay in the New World Dalian Hotel. The staff were courteous and efficient, the hotel was nice and centrally located. Morning breakfast was sumptuous! Overall cost performance was excellent!
A great hotel, nice rooms excellent staff and good downtown location. The beds and linen used here is my favourite of all hotels, super comfortable and I always have the best nights sleep here than any hotel while traveling on business!
