During my last stay in Cala Gonone, my boyfriend was responsible to select our hotel ,I was gladly surprised by his choice of this hotel. Il Nouvo Gabiano has a good central locacation, clean as I like it, friendly staff, and very confortable rooms/beds.During my last stay in Cala Gnone, I was gladly surprised by this hotel. Good central locacation, clean, friendly staff, and very confortable rooms. On top fo that, my room counted with a stunning view of the beach, that I was delighted to enjoy during early mornings. Ps: The staff was very helpfull with all the incident I had with our delayed suitcases.. The Staff at the hotelhelped us with a certification letter (via email) stating the time they received our bags, in order to make the insurance reclamation. Thanks!
We had a room with a balcony facing the little active harbor. This small hotel is very cozy and the personal are very nice and service minded. We had a breakfast included many different dishes, more than we had expected from an Italian hotel.
Great food and excellent service in this busy Restaurant which is situated just behind the Port. The managed eleven of us without any problems and the general feeling of our climbing group was that this was the best food in town
Friendly and helpful staff. Good location directly near the port and central beach. Good quality room and en-suite. Half board option available on arrival, very good value. Noise from corridor was the only negative point. There is no hotel parking, however all-day parking in a blue zone is only €6 per day. In the side streets it's free. The reception staff will help you work it out.
This is one of the few places in Cala Gonone that serves quality seafood for reasonable prices. We showed up twice without a reservation and they were very accomodating, but I recommend making a reservation to get the tables outside. The mixed grilled seafood plate was our favorite. Employees do understand English and they've been very sweet - although the service can be a bit slow at peak times.
Very nice few over the harbour. Room 211. The employees were very friendly and helpfull with our desires. The restaurant on the ground floor which belongs to the building is a tourist trap! Breakfast quality good, also nice few on the terrace. You can also see the sunrise over the sea. Cheers
Spent 3 nights here in a sea view room which we were satisfied with. It is next to the marina so easy for boat rentals or tours, walking distance to the super market, lots of restaurants, etc. This is a 3 star hotel, clean, no frills, with tiny rooms but decent for the price. The blanket on the bed looks old and disgusting. They are cheap on the amount of shampoo and soap they provide. The light in the bathroom is really dim so shaving was difficult at night. During the day light came in through the window so in that case it was fine. Noise travels through the doors to the hall. We can hear people in other rooms and doors opening and closing. The hotel has put something under the doors to minimize this but still noticeable. I think the sea view is worth the extra cost. It can be a little noisy by 8am due to all the marina activity though. There is NO wifi in the rooms and free slow wifi in the lobby. I think it comes from the restaurant as when I ate there I think I had the strongest signal. The staff are friendly but I didn't find them very helpful or knowledgeable about area attractions. Breakfast was decent but ran out of basics like eggs by 9am. There is no parking but for 6 euro or 1 euro per hour you can park in the marina lot next door to the hotel. You can purchase a couple of days at a time so you don't have to constantly feed the meter and you can come a go freely assuming you can still get a spot when you return. We have seen meter maids patrolling too. Down side is the machine only accepts coins.
We stopped on route to this port and had a starter between us and it was fantastic. We chose the 6 pieces of seafood and they gave us 9 and we loved it and just managed to finish it all. Service was quick and staff very friendly. Highly recommend. Grahame
We occupied two rooms with a terrace that you can view the entire port and Islands ahead. For 5days of stay, Every time we woke up and see the beauty of the scenery especially the port, makes our summer break fascinating and exciting. The staff are very accommodating. The rooms are regularly cleaned and since we have kids, they tried to cater everything we need and suggest good restaurants to dine with. The only restaurant we don't like and WILL NOT recommend was the one in the ground floor of the same building. Keep it up! For me, the location of this hotel is perfect! Highly recommended! 👍
Visited Cala Gonone around June 2015. We entered the lobby to be warmly welcomed by the receptionist who also spoke fluent English (which is always a plus for a non-Italian speaker/tourist!). She recommended a lot of different places to visit and was generally very easy to get along with. We had a 3 night stay there and everyday without fail we were remembered and greeted by her every time we were going out and coming back to the hotel which made us feel special and comfortable. The other staff were also very friendly, one day we decided to go down and have some breakfast (we usually skip breakfast because we can never wake up on time lol) but there were no diners which made us question whether breakfast was on and again a different member of staff warmly insisted we eat and gave us a seat. Keep in mind that this hotel is VERY small so there aren't many facilities provided within the hotel. Our room was small but very clean, cosy and fully-functional with a balcony attached to chill outside and appreciate the stunning scenery of Cala Gonone! Overall we had a pleasant visit here and would recommend to people looking to be out all day and explore the town. And for anyone looking to visit Cala Gonone I HIGHLY recommend you to rent a boat for day (a lot of rent-a-boats all around the town so it will be easy to find). The amount of fun you can have and the endlessly breathtaking scenery you get will have you absolutely speechless... This was our first time (definitely will not be the last!) renting a boat to ourselves and we felt like we were in paradise. CALA GONONE, you are amazing.
