It is hard to describe the feeling I had when I firs saw the hotel and our room. It has brought my whole Sardinia holiday to another level. The pool, the room, the food, the service: all amazing!!! It is like a SPA. You almost want to spend your holiday inside the hotel. We had the chance of booking a few days before the official opening of the season and we booked at a good price. The only disadvantage for this place is the fact that is a little far from everything, but they offer shuttle buses to and from the beach. But, if you rented a car, that is not an issue anymore. I recommend and for sure stay againg on my next trip to Sardinia.
We only stayed for two nights, and we deeply regret it. We should have booked more days/nights at Petra Bianca. Nice, calm, and warm atmosphere. We also had a small garden in front of our room, with a table and two seats. We had only breakfast from Petra Bianca and it was amazing. This hotel has a very nice pool, a little to deep for my tastes. They offer shuttle bus to the beach and back.
A great hotel near Porto Cervo with excellent rooms. The view from the dining/breakfast room is breathtaking. Very friendly service. The pool area is generous and the staff looks really after you. It is not cheap but very good value
Stayed for 1 week mid September. The only downside for us was that the hotel is some distance from any town, shops or beach. The website indicated that a shuttle bus to the beach was available, but this had already ceased when we arrived. So we hired a car for the rest of the week, which is really essential. We had booked a room with a seaview. The first room we were given was on the ground floor & the views of the sea were not at all good. We immediately asked for another room & we were informed by the very helpful receptionist that we could change rooms, but not until the next day. This we did & the room we were given had wonderful panoramic views. So...do not hesitate to say if you are unhappy with your room!. The staff were all very professional & helpful. The food in the evening was magnificent! Four courses every night with a menu that changed every day! Breakfast would best be described as adequate..it certainly didn't match the quality the evening meal.
Stayed in the Hotel Petra Bianca for 1 week at the beginning of September. Having booked a classic room, we were extremely happy to be upgraded to a superior room with balcony and sea view. The room was well equipped with good air con and everything we needed. It was spotlessly clean with maid service daily. All staff were welcoming and friendly, without exception. Although the location coule be termed as remote, if you don't have a car and want to avoid using taxis, it is no hardship to laze by the pool. We were half board; the food was lovely and the service exceptional. To sum up, this is a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. If you want a relaxing holiday with glorious surroundings, this is the place for you.
The view of this hotel, was really beautiful. From the bar you could see the swimming pool and a view of the ocean. Restaurant staff was polite, not warm. I was disappointed with food we had at dinner and breakfast. There was no spa at the hotel, but one of the staff members made arrangements for a massage nearby. I considered quite expensive for the month of September and what it was offered.
Lovely location and very nice smaller Hotel with nice rooms and well kept grounds. Took the option of half board (American plan) the food and service for the week was excellent. You need a car for this location to get to local shops, towns and beaches. The Hotel runs a shuttle to a local beach which was nice.
The Petra Bianca - a bit of paradise on earth. When you arrive after a short trip from Olbia airport (about 30 min) you are warmly welcomed. We were returning to the hotel after our excellent stay last year in spring. Our expectations were rather high after the awesome experience last year. As we had a booking for two rooms I was accomodated in the left wing in a room with mountain view (150, Standard Room). This room was quite big, had a nice bathroom and luckily a bit of sea view. The fellow passengers had a Junior Suite, being located in the other hotel wing and having an awesome sea and garden (which is very nice!) view. Having checked out these two great rooms we were hungry after the long journey and were really looking forward to having dinner. AS I already wrote our expectations were very high - also for the restaurant. Here again the staff - which was the same as last year - recognized us and was very friendly and profesional. The food, starting with some Antipasti followed by a Primi (pasta dish) and the Entree, was very delicious. The mix of the Italian and Sardinian cuisine is very good and well prepared by the kitchen. If you need a recommendation concerning food or wine the servers are very happy to help you and explain the taste in several languages. The next day (and all the other days) we started with a rich breakfast, offering fruits, juices, yoghurt, danish, bakery, cheese and sausage. Additionally you can order eggs, omlett and other good things. After the breakfast we were willing to go to tthe beach. As it is not in walking distance (3 km) you have to make use of the hotel shuttle or rental car. I would really recommend the shuttle because of the bumpy ride, likely to cause dammage to rental cars. Roberto, the driver, is very nice and tries to make everything possible that even in high season everybody gets a ride at the time he has chosen from the time table. The time for return has to be selected in the morning. At the beach there were enough sunbeds with a hilarious beach view. Two sunbeds share one umbrella. When we came back, a technical problem in the room was solved very profesional and friendly. Thanks a lot again to the reception and the whole staff. On the birthday of a fellow passenger the restaurant had prepared a very good surprise! To sum it up I can really recommend the Petra Bianca to everybody, who wants to relax during his vacation and just have some time for family and friends. The relation between price and service is absolutely fair, even if the proce seems to be very high in the beginning. We will come back for sure! Grazie mille!
Let s start saying that in Porto Cervo the levels of the hotels is terrible. Let me explain better this concept for anyone wants to go in vacation in this beautiful part of Sardinia, Italy. In all Porto Cervo there are 4 top Luxury hotel, Pitrizza, Romazzino, Cervo and Cala Di Volpe. Each one of these offer rooms starting from average 2.5k per night in August. What you get for 2.5k per night equal less then what you get in any Four Season or Mandarin Oriental of 800 euro. It s a real rubbery. If you don't want to spend 2.5k a night for a standard room in one of these hotel so you move to hotels 4stars S or 4 stars. Hotel Petra Bianca is a 4*s hotel. The location is really stunning. The hotel is located in the top location of Porto Cervo area called Cala Di Volpe. The view from the hotel is just beautiful. We booked a superior room that cost around 700 euro a night more or less. Because I book for 13 night they made me a discount around 540 euro at night... More or less. The lobby of the hotel is just a 4 stars hotel nothing more. The room the give us had a nice patio with a good view. The room was terrible. I would say that could be a 2* hotel room. The room smelt of humid, the walls had marc of humidity. The bathroom had mold in all the metal parts as showers and toilette paper holder, fosit etc The furniture were poor and even broken. The first day the AC started to lick water on the floor and the all wardrobe become all wet. The wardrobe is made with cheap wood like ikea. The hotel in the evening fixed the AC. The day after the mini bar started to lick on the floor. After 5 days we have been moved to a suite. The suite it was nice, spacious and with good view. In 12 night they did turndown service one time. The hotel don't even offer you a bottle of water in the bedroom. There is no pay per view service or movie channel in any language. If you ask for two plates to eat some fruits that you have bought around the island they ask you 10 euro. 10 euro for deliver a plate. The shampoo and bath soap they give you are low level. I the price of the suite where We were was something like 1.200 or more in August. We have been upgrade considering the problem we had but I must say that the value of that suite is not more the 600 euro. I would kindly suggest the all management to go visit hotel that charge the same amount of money around the world and see the services that they offer. We arrive in this hotel coming from Mykonos where we staid at a Relai Chateau hotel 5*L for almost the same price. Porto Cervo is one of the best place in the world with the best sea in the world manage by the worst tourist operator that I ever met in my life. I have been in vacation in this area of Italy for several years and tried different hotel and I found the same unprofessionalism in treating the guest for what they pay everywhere. Coming back to Pietra Bianca the hotel has great location, good garden, poor services and over price bill. I have pictures to prove everything I said. I have bed connection so I m not able to upload them. I will try later
First of all: We have never ever written a review or complaint on tripadvisor but this time we felt, that it was necessary! We stayed in Hotel PETRA BIANCA from 25. - 30.7./ the view is excellent, the hotel premises(garden, pool)well tended, the bar and restaurant staff very nice and caring...! BUT: the welcome(reception) is not warm and cordial and if you ask for anything (to change a room, a late check-out /even with surcharge..) the answer is: "we are fully booked, sorry!" We did book a seaview room, but did get a poolview (152, but the reception insisted it was a seaview). Poolview is the cheaper category. When we asked for a room with seaview-the answer was of course- "we are fully booked, sorry!" As we insisted to get a room with a better view(seaview, which we booked and payed for!...) the answer was ....hm ah.... (italian style) ok we have a junior suite with the same view but you have to pay at least a surcharge of 130 €/night...(in total round 730€/per night incl. breakfast) We have to mention , we were returning guests....stayed there in 2014 room 130 (a seaview room). Of course nobody knew...normally the hotels, where we travel, they welcome you as a returning guest especially friendly and know you were a hotel guest and are happy to welcome you back....not there. Accepting the upgrade with surcharge- we were looking forward to this junior suite, which was supposed to be bigger, with an excellent view and an additional comfortable seating area (as mentioned on their homepage!) BUT... the seating area was one additional chair, the bigger size was like 1squaremeter extra and therefore the clothes cupboard was at least one third smaller than in the regular room. Furthermore the smell of this "JUNIOR SUITE" was really bad,... it smelled like mildew....! Anyway we liked the view... Another evening we came back from dinner and after the "turndown" service our door of the room was open(not locked at all) inacceptable!!...as everybody can enter the premises from the parking area to the rooms... We did inform the reception staff...of course: they were sorry again... and did not react at all... Still we did enjoy costa smeralda... At the end of our holidays, our last day we dared to ask for a late check out (also with surcharge) for 2pm which is kind of early for a late check out... BUT...guess what, the answer was "we are fully booked sorry..!" When we asked for changing or shower possibilities... the public toilet in the lobby was offered... as there was no shower in the gym, or spa... and of course no available room for a shower... They offered us the shower(cold) at the pool to refresh for our trip back home. in public , in front of all the other guests! That was really generous, wasn't it ;0)) So we took our hangers with our shirts and jackets, our toiletries etc. and enjoyed half a day at the pool... After our request we got 2 towels and shampoo for our spa experience( cold shower at the pool in public of the other hotelguests...)amazing... We do travel a lot for business and private reasons...BUT we were NEVER treated like that! and we always got an opportunity to refresh for the trip back home. The hotel is supposed to be a 4star deluxe...i don't know who ever did this rating. The price for a room or suite per night is unreasonable high.(600€ incl. breakfast) It's not worth and we could not recommend this hotel. After our bad feelings and complaint at the reception when we left, the "front office manager" on duty of course said... sorry we are fully booked. As I mentioned to write a rating on tripadvisor or expedia... the front office manager said she will reply it with the reason - that they are fully booked (as usual).and that there is no room or shower for at least 30 mins available. In my opinion ... she meant she doesn't care at all. That' s a poor performance,...I work in the travel industry and tourism sector and I know how to care for customers, how to pamper them and how to make them a frequently returning and well treated guest...and how to promote customer loyalty... this behaviour, especially of the reception staff-was a very arrogant and inappropriate way. We won't be back! "mille grazie" for your cooperation!
