Stayed at this hotel in mid June so it was Still quiet. The hotel is small and friendly. All the staff was ever so helpful and genuinely friendly. The setting around the pool and restaurant is stunning with well kept gardens and amazing views of a mountains. However our bungalow was located in the other part of the complex cross the road (which isn't busy or noisy). Bit disappointing at first but didn't really matter. This side of the hotel complex has it's own pool too. Also gym and tennis court are located here. Most of the bungalows don't have windows, only the patio doors so it feels dark at first. The pool is mostly shallow (great for kids) but stunning. The Local beach wasn't ready yet for the season so we used the free shuttle bus to Grande Pevero beach which was great. The parasol and two sun loungers cost £20 for the day (off season). Again everybody was very friendly. We only booked B&B but there were three restaurants 5 min walk away (1 sandwich style, 1 upmarket and 1 normal - plate of pasta or big pizza £12. ) otherwise a 4 course dinner at the hotel was £35pp. The Marina is about 10 min walk away. Porto Cervo bit further but part of the walk was on a busy road. A taxi back from Porto Cervo was £20 :-( Although Porto Cervo is pretty don't expect anything traditional old Italian. If you want to explore you really need a car. Overall the hotel was great and I would recommend it!!!
Booking the holiday through TUI Jetair was an experience not to be repeated. We left from Brussels for a week's holiday and reserved the top category of room (deluxe), pool facing ect.. We we arrived we were assigned room 128, A room with no window, dull, claustrophobic with broken and cracked shower floor tiles, a damaged and leaking shower head and certainly not pool facing. When we asked to change the room we were told we would have to wait until the following day. When I showed the receptionist the hotel write-up in Jetair brochure they told me the photos were taken when the hotel first opened and should never have been used. The following morning I was able to arrange - no thanks to Jetair - another room, where we enjoyed the rest of our stay. I messaged the Jetair rep. and received the reply that they would be in the hotel later that day as planned. The only thing that she was interested in was selling expensive boat trips and expensive excursions and not the problem that we had. I could go on here, but I won't. The shuttle service from the hotel to the airport was on time and when we arrived at the airport we were dropped-off at the beginning of the airport well before the entrance to Terminal I ..We all had to walk with our cases in the heat for more than 5 mins to Terminal 2 which had ample parking for all those on the shuttle to have been dropped off there. The hotel is situated in beautiful grounds, a nice outside pool and excellent staff, helpful and service with a smile, and we had a really nice and relaxing holiday.
Nice and quite and relaxing hotel. Rooms are individual bungalow and many of them around one of the swimming pool. Rooms with fridge and AC. Good choice at breakfast with good balance of salty or sweet. Some gluten free food also. Two swimming pool with jacuzzi are in the top one. Laundry service is very expensive but... it's not mandatory to use it. Hotel is 12 min walking from Porto Cervo Marina
We have just spent 10 days at the Colonna Sporting and we really could not have been happier about how we were looked after. The staff were always attentive, smiling and helpful and made us feel welcome. Although the breakfast was usually about the same there was so much of it that it was easy to vary what you ate-eg cereal/bacon and scrambled egg/cold meats/fruit/cakes. On occasion if we were not keen on a given dish at dinner time(always 4 courses) we were quickly accommodated. I would say that the internet, even in the public areas was a little slow. I would also say that the shuttle to/from a lovely local beach was really convenient and that having a car enables you to discover the magnificent island. If you do go please please book the all day boat trip-see Maddalena and the paradise -like Budiello island.
I stayed one week in July with my family. It was my second time in Sardinia. Chose this hotel because the price was fantastic (+- 1000 €, triple room, half board). But found it disappointing ... :( although it is very beatiful. The Pros: great price, small villas, the surroundings, nice pool (one for adults and other for children), staff (very friendly and polite), free wi-fi, sardinian weather and sea (but this isn't an hotel credit ...:)). Porto Cervo is a very exclusive Village and worth a visit The Cons: The room!! Booked a deluxe triple room hoping that would be the best ... small, horrible pillows and maitress, the "third" bed is not suitable for a 1,70 mts person, the WC door opens to the room side (!!!), several equipments requiring maintenance (eg. furniture, bath, ...), have the washbasin clogged all week (and claimed in the first day ...). The food!! Very poor breakfast for a 4 stars ... some cooked food (eggs and bacon), very limited choices of bread, fruit, cheese, hams. Also the dinner was just fair ... but not suitable for children (my 13 yrs son had a starved week ... and he loves pasta and pizzas). The parking!! Very limited places particularly when some of the staff also use the "supposed" guests places ... incredible! The location!! Near the Marina ... only by car ... near the beach ... only by car ... everything is near if you have a car. They also have a shuttle to Pevero Beach but this one doesn't woth the visit ... The Best: Staff The Worst: Room Overall: Emeral coast worth the visit for those who love beautiful beaches with cristal waters ... everything is quite expensive (hotels, food, tours, ...) ... if i return to Sardinia, this hotel will be out of my choices ...
We arrived early at check in and the staff were very accommodating allowing us a courtesy room to change and storage for our bags. Our room was high up and very quiet with no other guests walking past. The pool area is kept very clean. I do think they could use more umbrellas and sun loungers. We used the bus service to go to the beach one day which was a good service. The breakfast was the same every morning. They had very good staff who would serve hot drinks. The coffee was very tasty. Overall we found the staff were very friendly and the resort very clean.
We are a Family from Belgium, This was our first time @ Sardinie . The houses were big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids and were clean. Dinner was always really good, we stayed voor 15 days and everyday there was an other menu. The maitre was very organized also his staff. And at the reception they were always very friendly and helpful. In te morning there was always animation for the kids by Mimmo, he really tried his best for getting al the kids to come and play. He always tried to speak in the gast their language! German, french, English ( big compliment for trying) We will go back to Sardinie and the hotel has been absolutely a GREAT experience! Chris, An, Anoa & Seth!
We spent one week in Sardegna at this hotel and we had a wonderful time. Our room was very quiet so we had the time to relax and slept well. The rooms aren't luxury, in our case we didn't care much about it because we spent little time inside. The swimming pools are great with plenty of space to chill out. The only drawback was the Internet connection, it is a little weak. We didn't have signal at our room, which we thought it was great so as to relax and not check emails every 2 minutes! People at the hotel were very kind and polite, always ready to help! If you are traveling by plane and land in Olbia, I would recommend renting a car... All in all it would be cheaper than taking a taxi (taxi from or to the airport would cost around 80 Eu) and you would have the chance to enjoy different beaches around costa Esmeralda with the car!!!
We and our two boys (6yrs & 9yrs) really enjoyed our holiday, but it's true they're not getting everything right. Pros Restaurant - staff very nice and helpful about creating vegetarian meals for us (after a bad start when there was nothing veggie on the menu). Food was great. Beautiful pools Clean - room cleaning staff excellent, fresh towels every day. Lovely grounds Issues, such as dead light bulb, quickly sorted out. Good location near to Porto Cervo, the nice beach of Cala Granu and just 35 mins from Olbia. Cons The road - despite reading everything we could find out beforehand, we didn't know THERE IS A ROAD RUNNING THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE SITE. If you're a family of four then you have to be housed across the road from the main site - the main hotel only has rooms for 2-3. It's a fairly busy road too, so there is no possibility of children going between the two sites unaccompanied. If we had known about the road beforehand I doubt we would have booked. As it turned out, it was ok - making a trip from our side of the road over to the restaurant and the main pool became an 'outing' and added interest for our sons. Rooms - the first we were given was opposite the road, dark and cramped. They agreed to move us and we got a nicer, bigger one. Two separate bedrooms, still basic, with a weak shower, thin walls, not enough hooks to hang your stuff up, no nice views and in need of a paint job outside. But all in all ok, with good air conditioning. Mini Club - there's a girl who sits there all day, but there are no kids activities offered that we could see. The playground is ok, although probably better for young children. Reception staff - a smile costs nothing! Not sure why they're so frosty, but it doesn't make you feel very welcome! The 'art' - the pictures and sculptures in the public areas are generally terrible! Subjective opinion, of course, but we felt it detracted from any attempt at 4-star ambiance. 'Sporting' - if you booked this hotel for its sporting facilities, you will be disappointed. The gym is tiny and outdated and the outdoor sports area run down. They did have some new hire bikes though. Still, our boys thought it was heaven. It's not really 4 star, but with a half-board deal and superb weather, we actually had a super time. We may well return.
I have been here many times over the last few years and the staff are always friendly and willing to help in anyway. The rooms are simple, clean and well appointed for the money you pay. The pool is fantastic and the hotel is nice and quiet. Just a 10 minute walk to the yacht club. See you next year
