I had a very stressful and unpleasant stay at your property. Our dates of Occupancy were August 24th, - August 28th. There were a series of events and I was expecting better and more respectful service. . Upon Check in, I asked if there were any upgrades available. The Front Desk said "we had already been upgraded." After reaching our room and being shown the property we felt this was a dishonest representation. While I realize we were not entitled to an upgrade we felt lied too. Our room was a small rectangular room with a sliding glass door. If we wanted any privacy the curtains had to be closed 24 hours a day. The room was so small, had no window and not light in it, and I was not aware of any other rooms on the property that could have been smaller. Upon check in, due to the very limited amount to plugs in the room, we asked for an extension cord for a medical device we travel with. The front desk said one would be brought to us right away. After about 4 hours I went to the front desk to get one. The front desk said they did not have any. I explained to the desk person what I had been told and she argued with me. I asked for a supervisor and they handed me one immediately. We wanted to go into the town village and I asked the front desk if there was any public transportation and specifically asked if there was even a water taxi, as I was told it was 30 - 45 minutes of a walk. I was told in no uncertain terms, there was no public transportation. So we walked round trip. After I returned and further injured my foot walking, we went to the bar and talked about the walk into town and the bar tender said, "why didn't you take the free water taxi". One of us had a eye injury and asked about a Eye Doctor in Porto Cervo. He was told by the front desk, yes and told him to just walk in Monday that they took walk-ins and did not take appointments. Mr Henderson walked to the eye Doctor, before we knew of the water taxi, and was told the Dr Does not come in on Mondays. Your front desk sent him to the Drs office and he does not work on that day. He was told and given an appointment to come back the following day at 6PM. They did make and accept appointments. We made reservations to go to the Beach and the Front Desk gentleman called and reserved a chair for us. On the day of the reservation which was recorded in your pick up and drop off book we were taken to the beach and dropped off and not told where to go. We found our way to the Beach, and found about 4 or 5 different chair vendors, maybe 1000 chairs in 4 or 5 venues. We went to each venue asking if they had a reservation for us from Colonna Country Sporting Hotel and everyone of them told me they did not take reservations. After being frustrated and going from each chair vendor to the next one, we walked to a different beach and asked there. The other beach sent us back to the original beach. I asked the small beach vendor to call Colonna Country Sporting Hotel since I did not speak the local language, and of course your front desk said they do not make reservations. I told them they did and gave them the employees name that called to make the reservation and I got in a argument with the front desk on the phone over this. They put me on hold and the guy who's phone we borrowed needed his phone back so we had to hang up. We walked back to the big beach and by this time the "manager had called to straighten out the situation." We spend half our time walking between beaches, and making calls and being stressed out.. We lost half our beach time looking for "our reserved chairs" and the right beach. I believe the two beaches were Spiaggio Piccolo Pevero and Spiaggio del Grande Pevero. When we returned to the hotel I got into an argument with the manager who was very cold, disinterested and would take no responsibility for the mistake of just just dropping us off without instructions and said his employee should not have even made a bed reservation. The bottom line is the front desk is not trained, not informed, depending on who you ask you get different answers, we were sent to the Doctor without any effort by the front desk to confirm or schedule on a day the Doctor actually worked, we walked into town as they said no water taxi, we were dropped blindly at a beach without directions, the front desk made representations to deliver a extension cord for a medical device then I had to go to the desk hours later and was turned away that they did not have one which forced me to wait and request a supervisor to get one and yet another challenge. The training is horrible, customer service was worse, there was no one on the property we could turn to or count on and felt like we were mis informed and lied to multiple times. I would expect a more decent level of service from your property, and what should have been a stress free vacation was a miserable experience. We came a long way from Dallas, Texas for this miserable and expensive vacation. Richard Shampain Jeff Henderson
Location is a short distance from Porto Cervo Marina which can be reached by walking down the hill from the Hotel in about 15 minutes. The Marina is a bustling port with numerous yachts and boats of all sizes moored up. There's a couple of restaurants, an English pub (The Lord Nelson) and some Pizzerias en route. Would recommend car hire as the excursions from the Hotel were very expensive, and of course it's much easier to get around with your own transport. Dinner at the Hotel was over-priced and nothing special in our view; we ate out most days and used a variety of different restaurants or Pizzerias in the towns we visited nearby.
Staff was very attentive and were able to answer all your questions. very helpful in arranging a car for the day. resort was clean and breakfast was very good. Wi-Fi was only available in the common areas not in your room. I am 6'!" and the shower head was low for me. I enjoyed my stay
(+) professional staff Bar tender guy with blue eyes on our first day. Very very friendly (Thursday 14 sept) Reception all staff is very nice. Specially lady with the glasses and is manager we think. (+) nice houses as hotel rooms (+) swimming pool is good (+) swimming pool staff guy with red shirt very friendly (+) bar is nice place to sit and enjoy drinks (+) marina with sail boats are on walk distance (-) bathroom small (-) breakfast choices not so much (-) Porto cervo is small city and not much to do here Positive point: We had complaints about that someone was yelling in the house near to our room. And we couldn't sleep. After complaint we got another room. This was very smooth fixed by the team. Appreciate quick response. If we will come back to this hotel? Probably because of price value comparing.
This hotel has good reviews so clearly some people very happy. Positives include within walking distance to their beach and in opposite direction, walking distance of marina both about 10 minutes. 3 swimming area's with no chlorine smell or salt water so pleasant to swim in although water very cold. However my family found the room we stayed in to be very basic. It was clean but level of comfort and furnishings definitely not 4 star. Rooms are bungalows which are relatively spacious but dated. Resort lacked atmosphere and there didn't seem to be many people staying. Food was good but served very quickly and not very hot, which meant dinner over within 45 minutes. There was no evening entertainment so after this there was nothing more to do other than sit in a quiet bar. Staff were friendly and worked very long hours so credit to them. However despite this I wouldn't stay here again.
Really nice, hotel. Rooms and overall spaces really clean and tidy. The staff was really Polite and helpful. Some really small issues with the WiFi coverage, but with a good speed. Perfect for relaxation by the pool. Nice breakfast. I would really recommend this hotel. Perfect location for an everyday jog.
We arrived late to the hotel after a delayed flight and a long wait for our Avis Car hire at Olbia airport. Elisabetta greeted us and with his friendly assistance we had soon been checked in. The staff at the hotel Work Garda to keep the place meticulously clean and ensure everyone is looked after. The hotel team really make the difference and everyone we met during our stay was vero pleasant and welcoming. It's impossible not to relax here; the stunning gardens around the pool offer the perfect escape. From the hotel it is only a short drive to many beautiful beaches around Porto Cervo like Pevero. We had a fantastic time and I would ne happy to return anytime.
Confortable hotel that has been tastefully decorated. Please note there is a cab to the beach, which is very enjoiable brut this was a surprise when we arrived. Cocktails canone quite pricey at circa 12 euros. Eating in the restaurant offers a 35 euros a good menu. I recomnend this to anyone who wants a relax stay in the island!
