From bad service to rude staff, stay was beautiful, facilities were outstanding however we had issues with staff/service. We couldn’t get reservations to their Japanese restaurant all 5 days booked. When made reservations at other restaurants only availability was after 9pm only for staff to hurry us up because the kitchen was closing. Room service was never delivered, couldn’t use their gym facilities because gym shoes were not worn. Saw people being kicked out of their buffet because they had swim wear on yet other guests had on swim clothes. Did not like the service at all. Definitely would not go back.

Beautiful clean rooms, great beach for swimming, always plenty of chairs, great food options. Activities on the beach and pool side, David - maker of happiness, made our trip so fun. We were in building 1 and loved being next to the activity pool. Can't say enough good things about Catalonia.

Great Stay, But Reservation System Needs Fix ​Overall, this was a great stay and we would happily return. ​Pros: ​Staff: 99% of the staff was attentive and professional. Exceptional service overall. ​Dining: Buffet breakfast and dinner were great. Wide variety and high quality. ​Entertainment: Great entertainment and activities kept the trip lively. ​Cons/Only Fail: ​Lunch: Buffet lunch quality was disappointing compared to breakfast and dinner. ​Reservation System: The dinner reservation system was a major dissatisfier for our group. It was difficult and frustrating. ​Resolution: The Front Desk was able to help us navigate the reservation issue successfully. ​The service and amenities were excellent enough to outweigh the frustration.

Stay was great overall, food varieties were a plus! Wish the room service menu was a bit better in terms of options for families traveling with specials needs children wanting to stay away from crowds. They did try to promote a club membership which was promoted as a quick 90min breakfast and non pushy presentation. It ended up being a pushy 2.5 hour presentation in which you can tell how the manager got upset when we continued to kindly decline.

Definitely pros and cons. As a family of 6 the room had no privacy to change or get dressed. 2 queen beds super uncomfortable to sleep on and I don’t think a fold out should equate to a bed especially for my teenagers. The bathrooms were worn and could use a good clean. The restaurants were good but making a reservation was hard and only had openings after 9:30. The check in process was hectic! Crowded and took forever. The drinks are not strong at all. We paid for an upgrade and were contacted the next day that a room was wasn’t available. We were offered dinner reservations at earlier times for the inconvenience when we showed up to the restaurants they had no idea what we were talking about- we had a text from the manager. Guest services helped us eventually. The shows were good but progressively became inappropriate for kids. We walked out of the ‘The Rock Show’ because it was bordering a strip show other families left as well. The food trucks, tacos, ceviche, crepes and cafe were really great! The pools were great! The beach was good could’ve used more shade areas and lounge chairs. The service by the pool was great- workers were very hospitable and nice! Workers asking to take photos was annoying!! I agreed to taking some with my daughter and thought maybe max 5 poses but they kept insisting on more poses - it was awkward. And when they’d come back around they didn’t take ‘no’ for an answer and that’s what made it annoying. Take mosquito spray!!! It was an okay stay.

Almost everything was excellent. The room was awesome, the staff were excellent and friendly, food was mostly really good, medical service and follow up was excellent. My only complaint was some of the follow up was not done, ie we were told there woul be something in our room for our anniversary and our sister’s birthday, as well as dessert with a candle for her birthday but none of those things happened. Those are minor things though. We’ll be back!

My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, everything was disorganized. We did not receive the welcome drink, we had to wait a long time, and no one accompanied us or even showed us where our room was. To make it worse, it was raining and all they did was hand us an umbrella with no assistance or guidance. The hotel itself is poorly maintained. There are areas with unfinished details, viewing points with broken glass that have not been repaired, and cups thrown around the hallways. It reflects a lack of cleanliness and attention to safety. Overall, the service from the staff was consistently poor. The food was another huge disappointment. They advertise 16 restaurants, but we were never able to eat at any of them because everything was always “full,” and no one made the slightest effort to help with reservations or offer alternatives. The food options we did see were basic, lacking identity, and nothing like what the hotel promotes. Entertainment was also a letdown. Their entertainment team does not provide information or engage with guests, and you rarely see anyone sharing updates or leading activities. Service at the beach and the pool was terrible—slow, inattentive, and clearly understaffed. On top of that, some of the external restrooms were not clean, which is unacceptable for a resort at this level. To finish, the hotel does not offer any proper transportation service. Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities
Resort was kept clean. Rooms were nice and spacious. Staff were friendly. Nice kids area and pool. If you call for room service they don’t come. We had an issue with our sink and they said they’d send someone right away but no one came. We called for more water and no one came. Buffet was ok, restaurant food was much better imo. We were actually there for a wedding and a lot of people got sick from food poisoning, including myself. Lots of mosquitoes. Far from airport.
