If you don't mind queuing for EVERYTHING then this is a very good hotel! We stayed here in the second week of August for 7 nights with our 10 month old and 10 year old. Upon arriving at the hotel we found check in to be fairly slow - not helped by the queues! We chose a Junior Suite which was absolutely fab - it was actually the best thing about the holiday. It was clean, modern, had a kitchen area including fridge, microwave, kettle and fully stocked cupboard of crockery, cutlery etc. Very large bathroom with great shower and 2 sinks. Sofa bed & TV in lounge area. Dining table and chairs. Separate bedroom with another TV. Spacious balcony overlooking pool with fantastic whirlpool bath which we used every day! Cleaners came in every day and kept the place spotless. Restaurant was an absolute NIGHTMARE! It was completely chaotic, manic, noisy and very stressful especially with 2 hungry kids in tow. The QUEUES for food and drinks were ridiculous, every day it was almost impossible to get a table and we often found ourselves waiting by someone's table for them to finish their meal so that we could jump on their table. Waiters were clearing people's plates before they had finished to try and free up tables as quickly as possible! It got to the point where we dreaded mealtimes and went out for meals instead. Shame because the food was actually very nice. Pool area was pleasant enough but it was very crowded and there was a huge shortage of sunbeds and umbrellas. We witnessed a few arguments over sunbeds! People were resorting to laying their towels down on the floor. We complained to the lifeguard that there was no umbrella available for our baby and his answer was that we should go to the shop and buy our own umbrella! That's not what we paid for an all inclusive holiday for! There was always a QUEUE for the pool toilets so it was quicker to go up to our room! But if you want to use the lift to get up to your room then you can expect (you guessed it) more QUEUES! Fine if you don't have a problem with stairs but frustrating if you have a pushchair with you! The bar staff were very hard working and friendly, there was a good selection of drinks and the snack bar food was great (especially the pizzas) but strangely only one bar available to all inclusive guests so yet more QUEUES! WiFi was apparently free but we didn't use it and we didn't watch any evening entertainment as it was too noisy for the baby so can't comment on these. Unlimited bottled water is available (if you queue for it) and you can also arrange a packed lunch with reception if you're going for a day out - definitely plus points as not all hotels do this. (Although it is something most people expect with a inclusive!) The location of the hotel is fab, close to loads of shops, restaurants, lovely shingle beach and only 15 min walk to Water World which was absolutely fantastic, even better getting free entry if you've booked with Thomson :) Our Thomson rep Lorinda was fab, really helpful and friendly, and very knowledgeable considering she's only been doing the job a short while. Overall, the Oasis is a good hotel but simply cannot cope when fully booked. I'm sure if we went out of season we would have a very different experience! If they could invest in more sunbeds/ umbrellas, open up all 3 bars to all inclusive guests rather than favoring the paying guest and manage the restaurant a bit better then I'd consider going back. But I've had enough queuing to last me a lifetime so will NOT be returning!
We found this to be a very good hotel. Firstly all off the staff were very friendly and really helpful. Some of the bar staff's English wasn't great but then neither is my Spanish and i got what I wanted in the end. After the first night we upgraded to a junior suite nothing wrong with the other room just wanted a pool view and it was worth the extra money, it was spacious has all all the mod cons, jacuzzi, excellent sun loungers the list goes on. The house maids kept the place sparkling and are a real credit to the hotel as it was shining from top to toe. We only did bed and breakfast and went down at at different times and it was really busy but we found if you stood at a dirty table, seconds later a staff member would have it set. Breakfast was ok usual Spanish buffet breakfast. The only thing that lets the hotel down was the entertainment, ok they have the kids disco every night with the animation team which the young children enjoy. My kids are past that..... they had a guy who was funny doing magic which was entertaining and on the opposite end of the scale they had a guy miming to backing tracks and wasn't even playing the guitar or keyboard and when he did sing he was awful. Every few mins people were leaving, when we left another family past comment to us "have you had enough of that" lol. I would probably will come back to this hotel again but not for the evening entertainment.
Me my wife and two children have just returned from a weeks stay at the Oasis booked through First Choice. I'd decided to book this holiday as we only wanted a cheap getaway for the kids and somewhere that offered water park access so after reading through the reviews we decided to go open minded and book this. On arrival at the Oasis there is no coach access to the hotel so you are dropped off on a main road which wasn't a problem at all for us but I did hear some people complaining. We had already been told that check in wasn't until 2pm so had a 4 hour wait and again this wasn't a problem but aside from the luggage room no where was offered to get changed into something more relevant to the warmer climate. 2pm soon came around and we went to check in, you are told that there is a 1 Euro fee per night per adult that we wasn't aware of but as we only booked a 7 day stay this wasn't too bad. Anyway we managed to get one of the fresher apartment style rooms that really impressed us but as It was on the ground floor and could be accessed from the gardens and other balcony's I had some concerns regarding security of the place, I checked the doors to the balcony to find that on ours if you pressed against the glass the door could be opened even when locked. I reported this to reception who sent a maintenance guy down, 30 minutes later he had done with his drilling and all was secure. The Room was brilliant value for money and exceeded a 3* room but the constant noise from people in the corridors let it down and also kids pressing the door bells got slightly annoying, so for the room I'd rate it 4* The hotel is very clean and above standard, we have stayed in 5 star hotels around the world and this was on par so for us cleanliness would get 5* The food is a real problem and to be honest it was to a lower standard than we'd expected even after reading the comments on here. All meals require patients as you are constantly fighting the hustle and bustle and unless you leave a child or adult on the table you'll loose it even if you leave a full plate of food whilst you get a drink. Then there's the quality of food, the meats on the cooked in front of you counter hardly ever looked cooked, the bacon/sausages are terrible, and then there's the pink burgers!! After two days we'd had enough and found ourselves walking in to see if there was anything different but then walking out again and having to pay elsewhere for our meals. The snack bar isn't up to much at the main all inclusive area unless you like pizza which again is alright for the first day or so but soon gets very repetitive. For these reasons I'd rate the food 2* The drinks & availability again are not up to standard, there is a pool bar but unless you pay you can't purchase all inclusive drinks again you have to go to the main all inclusive area inside which is slightly annoying, this place is definitely catered more for the paying guests rather than the all inclusive guests as once you tell them you'd like to pay for a drink you get treated totally different. I didn't really rate the included drinks and suffered everyday with heartburn even though I swapped my drinks to see what the problem was. One morning I needed a bottle of water and went to the bar 15 minutes before they was open and asked the bar maid if it was possible to have one, she pointed to her watch and said no!! I could understand if I'd of been asking for anything alcoholic but water come on seriously??? So for these reasons I rate the drinks/availability 2* Pool & sunbed areas are really well maintained and quite a nice place to be, you never see any litter or floating objects in the water or around the area at all, my only criticism for this is personally I don't think a little music would go a miss? For this I rate this 4* Entertainment- Well the lack of, in the week we were there during the daytime the activities were minimal and to say this was in school holidays I was very surprised, aside from ping pong (as they called it) there wasn't really anything else going off. The entertainment at night was just as much of a let down so we found ourselves venturing out yet again. For this I rate as 1* Area- The area where the hotel is located is around a 15 minute walk to the main center and around 10 minutes to the beach, it's built up by residential / dated buildings, the whole area is around 20 years in need of updating. There's not really much going off in the immediate area either. For this I'd rate it as 3* TUI Rep- Believe it or not we got warned at the airport by another TUI member of staff how bad the Oasis rep was when we asked him where the coach was for the Oasis, to be honest he wasn't wrong!! Every time we approached her all we got is a full story of how busy she was and could we wait, even though you never seen her doing anything, we found her really unapproachable and for this I rate her as 1*
Was a bit aprehensive about this hotel after some of the reviews and yes there are some negatives but overall it was a great stay and we would go back. Negatives: Room was very small and we were tripping over ourselves. We weren't there much however so could cope but barely any room for luggage. Kids Club- this was overall great and the girls working there were fab BUT our little one walked out and into the pool by herself. If we hadn't spotted her....There does need to be a formal sign out process (as set out in the Holiday brochure) for safeguarding purposes Meal times could be a bit manic and chaotic. Positives - Hotel is clean and cleaning staff are diligent -Food selection in the restaurant was good and chocolate fountain night was a big hit with the kids - Our rep (Lorrinda) was great and so were the kids Club entertainers - whilst the room was small, we had a pool side view which was lovely and the room was lovely and cool - fab location, well worth going to Barcelona if you can too
Hotel lovley, rooms clean not very roomy when sharing with children.Found staff really rude Where never happy to help never cracked a smile. All inclusive very poor food was basic not much to choose from not much choice for English.Finding a table at breakfast and evening was like a cattle market very very busy found there was too many people for the room.Getting a drink threw the day when round pool was hard work, couldn't use the pool bar (only for paying customers) had to use main bar inside but couldn't enter if wet 🤔.Couldnt take food outside only once again if paying.Need to sort there all inclusive out would be a lovley hotel if so.Rep wasn't interested only in your money.Lacated in a good area lots of shops and bars around.
We booked this hotel direct on a half board basis and after reading some reviews were a little unsure what to expect but we were not disappointed. We received an excellent pool facing low level room with a 1 x double and 2 x twin beds for the children, with vouchers for complimentary water and sangria/champagne on one of our evenings. The perks of booking direct apart from the fantastic cheap price this hotel was for July summer holidays! This hotel is very clean, maids in cleaning every day, very friendly staff even when they were busy, great facilities for the children to enjoy, fantastic pool areas with a lifeguard always keeping watch, a great variety of food and I have 2 fussy eaters and they never went hungry with the amount of choice there was. We are not big alcoholic drinkers so All Inclusive would be a waste of money to us, we hired a fridge for 20 euros and stocked up with water, juices for the kids, local beers to enjoy sitting on our balcony in the afternoon sun or a baileys late at night after the show finished, even fitted the kids ice creams in it. The hotel had kids club and daily activities for children, it has a mini disco for our smaller daughter, and shows that the older child could enjoy too. It is close to a large beach, plenty of shops and restaurants around it and has a bus station 10 minutes down the road if you want to get around and explore areas. I would happily book this hotel again, cut out the middle man and book direct for better prices. Don't let the negative reviews put you off booking, we had a great time here, we got a lot more for our money than what we paid for and would go back!
First off, I would like to say I worked as a Guest Services Associate for 6 years on cruise ships, so I know how tough this industry can be. With this being said, I am one to over look things other people wouldn't. After so many issues, I could not stop overlooking major problems with this hotel. This was the worst place I have ever stayed. It seamed like everyday we had new problem. The reception was absolutely rude and unknowledgeable. Anytime we would call or ask for help, they would reply with sarcastic and rude remarks. They never tried to help and made you feel stupid. The wifi did not work the whole time we were there. Other guests we spoke with were upset about this as well. All inclusive was only at 1 bar INSIDE and you have to go get your own drinks. There was not enough beach chairs for the amount of guests. Beach chairs always full. The chairs that had no one on them were covered with people's towels (that they would leave all day and sit in the chairs for maybe 10minutes out of the day). Rooms outdated, I would rate this hotel as 1 star. The only kind & friendly staff we met were Nadia & Hector at the bar. Bathroom & balcony doors automatically lock when you close them, if you close it by accident you are locked out. This happened to us, when we called to ask for help we got scolded by the reception, and basically told to figure out the problem ourselves. When we couldn't open the bathroom door, we called the reception again and they called us stupid. The hotel had several blackouts throughout our stay. So many other problems / incidents, too many to write down. Overall I will never be booking here again and would not recommend this hotel. The only good time we had was when we were not at the hotel.
We have just returned from a week at the Oasis park and Spa hotel. The main negative is definitely the complete lack of evening entertainment. This was aimed at kids only until 10pm leaving only an hour for the adults before the bar shut. On a positive the staff were all excellent. We never had any issues with the all inclusive drinks. Plenty of choice including 3 cocktails. Food was good with plenty of choice for all nationalities. Room was comfortable and cleaned by 2pm every day. Pool area opens at 9am. Quite amusing watching everyone running to get a lounger. Quite often we witnessed kids laying towels down on 4 or 5 loungers for the full family, who incidentally didn't appear to lounge on there lounger for the 4 hours we were on the terrace. This is frustrating as there is a policy that you if you leave a towel on a lounger for more than 30 minutes unaccompanied then it will be removed. This wasn't enforced at all. Good holiday overall but wouldn't go back to this hotel.
Arrival Upon arrival we were dropped at the corner of the hotel with no rep to tell us where to go, luckily I had been reading up on here so knew exactly where to go. The drop off point was just a 2 minute walk and you could easily spot the hotel. Check in was easy, obtained our room key , had to pay a local tax of €7 per adult and handed in passport till the next day, Room I asked for a poolside view low level (recommended) which is what I got. We had two singles pushed together and two singles for our girls. The room was clean and fresh towels provided every day , beds changed daily also. Had no issues with noise as when you close the patio doors it blocks the noise well. Air conditioning worked brilliantly and was nice to walk into a cool room. Food The food was very continental, a good mixed variety of English French and German food , the Danish pastry went down well with my girls at breakfast. I'd class my partner as a traditional english fussy eater (chips and beans man) and he didn't starve. Fresh fruit and salad daily, plenty of lamb pork veal and turkey, hamburgers sausages, pancakes , the puddings were very nice also. There was a very large chap who seemed to be the boss in the eating area, he was very accommodating and friendly, also happy to help if you had an issue, ours was only that my youngest daughter didn't drink fizzy drinks or hot drinks and at lunch and tea no option for fresh juice (she only likes orange with no bits and apple) when I spoke to the man he was happy to help and went off to get a full carton of apple for her. Staff Overall the staff were friendly and helpful. Hector was great with the kids they all seemed to love him. Leo also was very polite and friendly. A few of the woman did seem abrupt at times and not as friendly. (A few guests mentioned this) Points to note Meal times are as follows Between 7am - 10am breakfast on the 1st floor 10am - 1pm you can obtain snacks from the all inclusive bar downstairs mainly pizza chips chicken squid rings (not onion rings as I thought!) 1pm- 3pm lunch again on 1st floor 3pm -7pm snacks again at the side of the bar downstairs 7pm - 9.30 pm tea on the first floor As you can see you have food all day so not a problem for you if you have young children and you don't want to wait till late for tea as snacks are available all day Drinks are served only inside between 10am and 11pm they are very strict on this policy and if you are in the que and it hits 11pm you won't get a free drink you will be expected to pay. And they limit you to 2 drinks per person (the men seemed to flout that but the woman didn't ) so if you want to get drinks for all your family you had to get your two drinks then que again for another two. You can only use the indoor bar if all inclusive which didn't make any sense , as the same bar is connected to the out door seating area but you couldn't order from there. The pools were good and the girls spent a lot of time in there on inflatables The life guard was very observant, when buying your inflatables be aware not to purchase one which could restrict the view of your child as he will not allow it in the pool as he wouldn't be able to see if your child had come off. The shop directly opposite the hotel is by far the cheapest for inflatables and any other nik naks he is friendly and helpful and will inflate any items purchased. There are plenty of shops for gifts and tat , just make sure you barter with them they seem to like it!! The beach is a 5 minute walk and is clean. We paid €20 for a pedlo with a slide for an hours ride in the sea, kids loved this. €6 for a subbed and €6 for hire of a brolly. Just take a towel as the beach is comfortable despite being made of fine shingle. The drop from the beach to the sea is very steep and the sea is strong so be aware with little ones and non confident swimmers We went to both water world and marine land Water world was by far the best ..ques was to be expected but plenty to do. A free bus ride to both places But drinks and food very expensive you can request a packed lunch from the hotel the day before to take (ham cheese sandwich bottle of water a chocolate pancake thing apple orange and a square shaped object) which I would take as each meal costa around €10 and drinks are from €2.50 each Marine land was good but seemed a long day as you go at either 10am or 11am and don't get picked up till 5pm We got a taxi back as the girls were tired which cost €17 The dolphins were amazing!! Overall this was a good family holiday We met some lovely people and made lots of happy memories Can't really complain about anything Lorrinda was our rep and she was spot on, giving us all the local knowledge and teaching the girls some Spanish. I wouldn't go back as I like to try different things but if you choose this hotel you won't be disappointed, well worth what we paid. Happy holidays ☀️🌴🇪🇸
We arrived in the morning at GHT Oasis park after having meet our rep at the airport, the transfer time is about 25-30 minutes. You are dropped at the corner of the main road and its about a 2 minute walk to the hotel. First impressions The hotel is clean and there is a large reception area, there is a small arcade for the children on the left and the bars are to the right. There is plenty of seating just past the lobby and a small soft play area for the smaller children. We checked in with no issues and were issued with our hotel room key. Upon checking in you have to pay the local tourism tax which is about 7 Euros per adult and your passports are held at the reception desk. Rooms The rooms are fresh and clean with a big bathroom, there are loads of towels and extra bedding should you need it. There is no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. We had a family room with a big double bed and two single beds which didn't leave much room for floor space but we didn't spend much time in the room so this wasn't a problem. The room we had over looked the pool and on the balcony there is a table and two chairs which was nice to use when the kids had a 'siesta' in the afternoon. The Air-con is good which we left on when we went out and the room was lovely and cool when we came back. Food and drinks The drinks for the all inclusive packages are served in plastic cups and are mostly ready made with just mixers added when you order, this is located inside which is a shame as there is an outside bar but this is only for money paying customers. You can only order two drinks at a time which seems silly being all inclusive. The snack bar which is next to the bar serves pizza, chips, chicken nuggets and salad. This seems to sit there all day only being replaced when needed so its not the freshest. Meal times can be busy and chaotic, there is one station that cooks fresh food but the queue for this can be long at times. We found the food was repeated a lot for lunch and dinner in the fact that what didn't get finished at lunch seemed to be dressed up differently and dinner but apart from this there was a big choice of different food to suit mostly everyone. Meal times also felt a bit late for children in the evening, the doors open at 19:00 with everyone trying to find a table to sit at making it hard to enjoy dinner and lunch. Breakfast was busy too but a little more orderly. Entertainment We were a little disappointed by the evenings entertainment. It starts quite late in the evening (21:00) which was a mini disco for the kids, mostly the same every night which lasted about 30 minutes too and hour then a show which ranged from dancing to animal shows. Be careful with the animal shows, the guys that perform them seem to be in a rush and offer pictures with the animals which they charge 10 euros a time for and from what I could tell these were no the best. Pool area 3 pools, one main pool and two children's pools. You cant get to the sun loungers before 09:00, this is to stop people (I guess) from reserving the loungers at silly o'clock in the morning. There is a life guard on duty which was nice to see and the kids can take in inflatable toys ranging from rubber rings to life size crocodiles!! There is a spa at the hotel but i didn't venture in so cant say weather it was good or not. Water-park As part of the package you are given free entry into the local water park, as it was July and all the Spanish schools had broken up for the summer this was so busy we only managed 2 rides in 2.5 hours and didn't venture back for the rest of our holiday which was a shame, the beach is a 10 minute walk from the hotel and we spent a lot of time there snorkeling and swimming looking at loads of fish just feet from the beach which was great for the kids. Overall the staff were friendly and helpful and all spoke very good English, the hotel was clean and tidy and the kids made loads of new friends and had a great time. A good family holiday which everyone enjoyed, would i go back!!!! Yes, but i would probably not do all inclusive.
