Just come back from the indalo park hotel in santa susanna and the location is right in the centre of everything. The hotel is spotless and the staff are brilliant. We arrived late and missed our evening meal so we were given a lunch voucher instead .It was my husband's birthday while we were there and we had a voucher for 2 complimentary cocktails which was such a lovely surprise. There is a great selection of food served in the restaurants. Breakfast has everything you can imagine although the cooked selection is Spanish sausage ,bacon etc and we only had baked beans twice in a week which is not a problem but it's something I thought I should mention.Evening meal had a great selection and everything is well cooked and well presented. The only negative thing about this hotel is that they have live music every night until midnight and it is very loud so if your in the front you won t be able to sleep, also if you have children it could be a problem .The average age of people visiting this hotel is 50+ and there wasn t many people with young families here, but if your young at heart and like to stay up past midnight you will love this hotel
If you smoke and like being kept awake by very loud music and being pushed around in the dining room then this is the hotel for you!!! Having said that the food is varied and good. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean. The staff are awesome and can't do enough for you. The hotel is ideally located but why pay extra for a premium room overlooking the sea to be kept awake by the awful entertainment and rowdy pensioners until after midnight!!! It's a shame how rude, inconsiderate and people with unhygienic habits can spoil your enjoyment of a lovely place!
Just returned from a weeks holiday with my boyfriend. Its hard to believe this hotel is only 3 stars. Room was a good size and clean, bed and pillows were comfortable and there's a good size bathroom and balcony. Our room (415) was in a good place as its not overlooking the pool and bar area which i think would be noisy at night. There was a good range of entertainment which we went to a few of the nights. The food was nice, buffet style with a good range of food for both breakfast and dinner. after walking around santa susanna, we realised how nice our pool area was as its a bit more private than many of the other hotels. The hotel is in a good location, 5-10 min walk from the train station. I strongly recommend
Just returned from a lovely holiday with my two friends, the staff are all very nice and friendly, the room we had was lovely with a great balcony(149),comfy beds air con small fridge hair drier, plenty hangers in the wardrobes.(It was a luxury room.)The food was really nice with great variety, you have a time slot for your evening meal so the dining room was never overly busy. The pool is lovely and clean with lots of sunbeds around, situated between the main hotel and the outside bar/resturaunt,the evening entertainment was good with live music every night at two locations, there is also an indoor pool(only open in bad weather.) The animation team were really friendly ,there was a lovely girl called Kaya who stopped to have a wee chat with us.My friends and I are mature ladies ,I would recommend this hotel for all ages.I do not have any negative comments to say about this hotel.
Well, I only have positive things to say about this wonderful hotel! We travelled to Santa Susanna as our first family holiday together with our 10month old son. Needless to say we were a little worried about what we may find, as we booked last minute. Upon arrival.....which was around midnight, we were greeted at the front desk by a friends staff member, we see assured that the hotel had provided a cot and that it was waiting in the room.....it was. A brand new travel cot with a proper baby mattress and even a little baby sized bead spread to match the others in the room. Two very tired but pleased parents. In the am, we went for breakfast, again feeling apprehensive as to what would be on offer, we were again pleasantly surprised at how helpful the staff were and the range of items available. The food in general is absolutely lovely. And our little one enjoyed having his first croissant for breakfast. Evening meals didn't disappoint either, selection of different things on each night, some of which are cooked on the grill in front of you. The head waiter, Jose, was absolutely lovely!! And became such good friends with our little one, that he was happy to go to him for a cuddle when we went for meals. Also, Proper, safe and sturdy high chairs!!! And plenty of them too! The hotel itself is very clean and the pool areas are lovely....however, we purchased a small paddling pool for our little one, as the pools were freezing! But the staff and lifeguard were happy for us to sit in the sun at the side of the pool with it. There is a small baby pool behind the stage on the main floor outside, however this is not much warmer, but a nice secluded place to enjoy a bit of sun whilst the little ones have a play. The hotel offers services such as safe hire, fridge hire etc....we hired both and it was way worth it. They charge 3euros a night so ours came to about 35euros for our stay. You hire these from reception. Note to parents with kids that don't sleep well in noisy places......ask for a room that doesn't overlook the main pool/outdoor seating area......they have bands on every evening, which is wonderful and we enjoyed watching them from the balcony as, We were room bound early when the little one went to bed, but it's quite loud! Luckily our wee man sleeps through most things. Entertainment wise....this hotel is great! There were a team of entertainers that did games by the pool every day, there is a kids games room just off the pool area, a table tennis area, there is also a mini disco for the kids each eve at 8:30 and in the main outdoor bar area, a band every eve. Locally, there is the boulevard bar off indalo park, which has a killer band that plays, the guitarist is a legend! This has entertainment on every eve also, and you can buy meals from here also. Along the strip there are many bars and restraunts...most attached to hotels. But they all look pretty lovely. There is a few supermarkets either side of the hotel in the strip of shops etc. They stock most things you would need, from water, to baby's milk and snacks. There is also a pharmacy and a doctors on the left hand side should you need it. Just to note.....the pharmacy sells powdered baby milk.....but it's Spanish versions, and it's full tins which were about 13euros, we have SMA, and couldn't find it, however as our little one is coming up to one, and we only ran short by two bottles, we bought a paediatrician endorsed nestle baby's enriched milk carton (stage 1 for 1yrs old) from the supermarket to the left of the hotel. He was absolutely fine with this and it did him no harm at all, so if you get stuck....at least there is this option. I would recommend a trip to malgrat de mar.......it's about a half our walk along the strip to the left of indalo park, if you walk along there are lots of shops and bars, continue right down the strip to the end, and you reach malgrats shopping place, there is a lovely little ice cream/coffee shop called Milan, it does really good coffee, ice cream and food and definitely worth the walk, alternatively there is a bus, if you don't fancy the walk. Trips to Barcelona are a great day out from here. Go up to the right of the hotel, a ten min walk away is Santa susannas train station. Buy your ticket from the ticket office on the opposite side of the road to the station. The lady here told us where to get on and off, she was super helpful. They cost about 20euros for two adults return. You have to validate your ticket on the platform before boarding the train, the train takes about an hour to get into Barcelona, and if you get of at Catalunya you are right in the middle of Barcelona. If you want to see sagrada famillia, you need to get off at univeritat and get the metro to sagrada familia, this brings you literally out in front of the building.......be sure to book your tickets for entering the sagrada familia online before you go, as they sell out quickly and we couldn't get in. I also got told that blames is nice, this can be reached by the same train that goes to Barcelona, but just in the opposite direction, we didn't get chance to go, but from what we were told by some people who regularly visit the hotel, it's a lovely little town, with some stunning views. All in all, this hotel and holiday ticked all the right boxes for us as our first family holiday with an under one. Literally cannot fault this hotel or their staff.........definitely 4star treatment and services for a three star budget............a must book for any family looking for a short flight and a lovely time.
Still a good value Hotel for three stars. Food good with plenty of choice for all preferences. We was put on second sitting for our evening meal, and I felt the choice wasn't as good, plus the food was Luke warm, however there is a microwave available. Rooms clean and spacious and attended to daily, the beds are very comfortable. Sufficient electrical outlets for all your phone, tablets etc. We were in 507 and the wifi was very good €5 for a week.. 32 inch TV., but only one English Channel. I find this very disappointing as there were a good selection of channels for the German,French,Dutch, polish and Russian customers. Staff ok, plenty of entertainment, indoor and outdoor pools good. Good location.h
Just had 17 nights at the indalo. Our room and balcony was amazing overlooking the pool. The bed is the most comfortable I've ever slept in and pillows just right. Room was cleaned every day and even bedding changed every 4-5 days. Food was of the highest quality and varied, couldn't fault it. Lovely fresh food. The staff throughout hotel was first class, reception, bar, very well mannered and pleasant. They dealt with us old folk ha with great patience.
Fantastic hotel. Clean, friendly and superb location. Food was unbelievable better than some 4 star hotels. Very close to beach and beautiful walks in the evening along the main strip just outside the hotel. Can't recommend this hotel enough. Will definitely be back again. Congratulations on running a top class hotel.
Just returned from a weeks stay at Indalo Park hotel in Santa Susanna on a half board basis. We had a brilliant time using the hotel as a base to see the local area up to Girona and all the way down to Barcelona. From the moment we arrived in the hotel the service was fantastic. No one seemed put out at all to help with any queries we had. The staff are a credit to the hotel from the reception desk, catering staff to the cleaners. The room we were in, 337, was located facing balconies from Hotel Sirius next door. At first we thought it would stop us using the balcony much but we found that it wasn't much of an issue. That side of the hotel seemed to be quite quiet overall so no issues with noise. Rooms were well equipped for our needs with beds, TV, wardrobes and hairdryer available. I found the beds comfortable but my partner found they were too hard. Bathroom was spacious and it had one of the best showers I've come across in a hotel. Internet was very cheap at €5 per device for the week and it allowed us to plan our trips around Barcelona with ease. Breakfast was 8am-10am and we aimed to be there for opening as it allowed us enough time to eat before getting the 8:55 train to Barcelona at the nearest train station. Breakfast was of a good standard. English breakfast was available every day along with cereals, fruits and loads of pastries. Tea, coffee, juice and milk are all available for free. Evening meals were from 7pm and were very nice overall. A few of the options such as pork and beef were available every night with other dishes that were rotated on different nights. One night pizza would be available for example with a different night offering chicken, pasta, paella etc. Large selection of vegetables and side dishes to choose from and a large desert section containing cakes, ice cream, yoghurts and fruit. You have to pay for drinks on the evening meal but the prices were quite cheap so it wasn't an issue. Their is an adjoining restaurant that seemed to do more grilled food that you pay for but we didn't use it during our week there. Was always busy when we went past. Outside pool, sun loungers and bar are part of the complex but we didn't use these so couldn't comment on how good these were. The hotel overall was very clean and to a high standard. It seemed there was always a cleaner around no matter what time of day. Hotel itself is located about 10 minutes away from Santa Susanna train station that had frequent trains to Barcelona and the occasional service taking you north towards Girona. The beach is a 5 minutes walk away from the hotel and we went down there every night after evening meal. Very quiet at this time so it was nice to get the last bit of sunshine walking along the beach. As mentioned in the title, its hard too see what the hotel isn't doing in order to be rated 4 star. We will definitely be returning to the hotel on our next trip to the Barcelona area. Brilliant job to all those we interacted with that week.
Stayed here late April early may in a 4th floor standard double room. Very clean & spacious, balcony overlooking pool, which was a bit noisy but took earplugs so ok. Shower was amazing! Hairdryer adequate. Room walls & door quiet thin. Food was brilliant, great variety, really tasty. The hotel felt like it was not geared up for English visitors, quite a lot of French with a few Dutch which the evening entertainment reflected on. Freezing cold pool, although there was a small indoor heated pool. 10 mins walk up to train stop, if you want to go to Barcelona (a must) you need to buy tickets opposite in the information cabin. All in all, a nice place to stay.
