As expected.

We had a good stay. Great proximity to the beach. We did have an issue with the air conditioning unit for the top floor, but rental agency was prompt in getting window units until they could get there the next day to replace the unit. Kitchen is well equipped. The two dishwashers were great. We had 12 people and two families. There was plenty of room for everyone. They have a gas grill which was great and the hot tub was clean and great as well. As with most rentals, they provide the minimal amount of toilet paper, paper towels, soap, so bring your own. That is not unusual at all. We’ve been coming to OBX for years and every rental has been that way. Overall a great stay.

Beach week in OBX

The property met our basic needs and was well located. The house was older and had some issues. The fridge leaks onto the kitchen floor during its defrost cycle and has warped the wood. There were some basic supplies such as garbage bags that were not provided, so we had to buy EVERYTHING. We ended up leaving supplies like Windex and scissors behind for future guests. Also, no broom or vacuum for us to clean basic dust or spills. The management company left three large laundry bags sitting in the driveway and it wasn't clear if they were clean or dirty and whether they were intended for us. The lower level of the house definitely smelled mildewy upon our arrival and we left the de-humidifier running all week to get rid of it. Overall, slightly below our expectations but it was great to have many bedrooms and a large common area for our group of 14 to spend time together.

Family Wedding

We had a family wedding at the Whalehead and found this the perfect place for us. Five branches of the family needed rooms plus a few singles here and there. We ended up being the central location for before and after gatherings each day. Our location was the only one with enough of a common area to comfortably have our group congregate and also provided plenty of entertaining activities. We are a competitive bunch and really enjoyed the ping pong, air hockey and other amenities. Pool area, new grill and proximity to beach big pluses. I will admit that certain areas of the place were a little dinged up (door on master bedroom cracked, but fine from outside of room), we were also missing a few pillowcases in places (extra/unused beds provided what we needed), and you need to make sure that when you shop for supplies, you get EVERYTHING. Minimal soap, paper goods, trash bags, no extra cleaning supplies, and no kitchen/cooking supplies as in salt, pepper, oil, (nothing). Rent many homes, I'm used to a small amount of that type of convince. Overall, great place to congregate and entertain. Perfect for multiple families with children.

Great get away!

The house was great.! Clean and well taken care of. The deck furniture was amazing and everything you could think of needing in the kitchen was there including 2 dishwashers. If there was any drawback it may have been the beds were a little uncomfortable. I would stay here again and I hope to do so next year and the year after that.

Wish it was cleaner

Great location! But cobwebs all over the decks and some inside. Needed a good power wash. But had two dishwashers, a grill, great variety of pots and pans. I want to stay in the house again next year, but will request an extra cleaning first.

Wonderful stay beautiful property

The house is beautiful, just needs a little deep cleaning. Stained chair covers, dusty knickknacks, front entrance to home full of dead bugs. Over all I would give the home a B rating.

Great house to rent!

Close to the beach access! Great pool and area around pool! Outside furniture was amazing! The kitchen had lots of everything from extra plates, mugs, silverware to baking dishes. The owners have really taken care of the house and want people to enjoy it and it shows. Had a great time and will be back!

Millenium Sunrise

Overall the house was in a perfect location to the beach and 4x4 beach so it made it very easy to hang at the beach. The house was perfect for our group of 16. It was much bigger in person then what the pictures show. Would definitely recommend.

Great Proximity to the Beach

Overall great house for a large group. Proximity to beach was excellent and house features 2 outdoor showers, pool and hot tub. Some delays in receiving response from property manager when requesting to extend our stay but overall a very good experience.

October Long Weekend

This house had a great location with easy beach access in a nice neighborhood. There was plenty of room for 2 families with a total of 4 adults and 6 kids/teenagers. Overall, the condition of the house was decent. It was somewhat dated and good use a deep cleaning (dead bugs in lights and windows, ants in kitchen, and a musty smell). For the overall cost of the house, we did expect the house to be in better condition, which is why we gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Relaxing beachhome for large group

We were a party of 17 and all enjoyed our vacation very much. We spent the majority of our time hanging around the house because we had so many things to do there yet we were very close to the beach. This property is not on the beach but right across the street from houses that are. The pool was great to have - we also enjoyed the hot tub and a large living areas for playing games and watching movies together. Some of the bedrooms are bigger than others and some share a bathroom . Property communication was digital which worked fine for most needs. Once we were on the property site putting in request for any thing we needed including maintenance or responded to an a day or less. I would have liked to have had a disposal in the sink and volleyball net in the pool!

Very good deal but some improvements are necessary

When we arrived we noticed that there were thousands of insect bodies stuck all around the front door and other areas. It really detracted from the house. The owners should have the house power washed periodically. Also, check in is 4pm, but when we arrived at 5pm, the cleaning crew was just finishing up. They left a bunch of dirty cleaning cloths in the washing machine. On the positive side, the house is extremely well outfitted and furnished. There were so many pots, pans and utensils that it was almost overwhelming. The beds were very comfortable, there were large screen TVs everywhere. The deck furniture was in great shape and comfortable. The pool was very nice, but the gas grill only had one of its 3 burners working, and the igniter didn’t work. Fortunately we had matches. Despite the issues we had a great time at the house. Hopefully the owners will address the issues mentioned.

Wonderful vacation!

Wonderful location, spacious and well equipped home. Beautiful views. Kitchen is fully stocked with all the necessities needed. Ample Deck and pool furniture - very nice. Bathrooms and some furniture dated. Overall wonderful rental.

Great family vacation

This house fit our family perfectly. Great open s-aces to get together but yet enough private bedrooms for all. There were a few problems, we felt it could have been cleaner especially the bathrooms. Loved having our own private pool and the walk to the beach was very short even shor for all the small children.

All-inclusive family vacation fun place!

Our family loved this house! It had plenty of room, an abundance of kitchen supplies, and plenty of activities to do if you were stuck inside, including full game room, books, games, puzzles, etc. The pool and hot tub were amazing. The grill made it nice to barbecue! We took advantage of almost every amenity, as well as the local beach and surrounding activities. We are considering returning at some point.
