We very much enjoyed our stay here. Cork people are,by reputation, very friendly and staff here didn't disappoint in that regard. Lovely food. Rooms good. Location great. Would hope to return sometime.
Stayed for a wedding. Upgraded room but very uncomfortable bed! Spa lovely but very odd being split male and female. Service very good. Food very good. Quite expensive drinks and bar service slightly slow at times.
Arrived on Friday for a wedding on Saturday. The staff were warm and friendly the room was gorgeous The setting is beautiful The ding was brilliant and the food was excellent Overall the stay was fantastic I would love to return to enjoy the hotel and spa on another occasion soon
We got married in the orangery of the Maryborough in late Aug. 2017. The experience provided by the hotel was wonderful. That was our experience and we heard the same from dozens of our guests.100+ attended. The hotel is not large and so the experience was an intimate personal one where staff greet you and remember who you were. As a venue where you can marry, the orangery is really beautiful. It is exactly as described in the hotel's brochures. We had done a careful survey of prices in various hotels and what we got was excellent value. The food at the wedding dinner was exquisite. For example ,we had steak on the wedding menu. It was melt in the mouth tender. The wine was excellent.Children who attended were well catered for. Nothing was too much trouble. All of the staff were ultra attentive, friendly, chatty but efficient over the three days we were there. The same was true when we stayed previously to do the planning with the excellent Martina the wedding planner. It was very important for us that the guests would have an enjoyable time, some of them had travelled a long distance to attend the wedding and most of the guests stayed two or three nights. They came from Ireland, the USA, France, Denmark and elsewhere. The hotel could not have done more to satisfy them and us. Again, the guests were lavish in their praise of the staff, the food and the hotel facilities. This all added to the wedding experience for them, and of course for us. Many of the guests used the spa with massage etc. All were happy with it. It is a beautiful space. All in all, the hotel helped to provide us with a wonderful experience with wonderful memories. Thank you.
Nice Hotel, Bedrooms good, decour lovely, really nice staff. Food was good. Coffee was terrible in restaurant. Food was great though. Would happily stay again for longer than the 2 nights i did this time.
Beautiful grounds, very attentive and friendly staff, excellent breakfast Buffett, the eggs benedict were first class. Rooms very well appointed, spotless. Complimentary bathrobes and slippers, water and cookies. Lovely touches, genuine 4 star hotel we'll be back
Staff were so friendly and welcoming but not too intrusive either. Rooms are amazing. Breakfast was tasty and fresh and a lovely chilled atmosphere at breakfast. Spa was amazing and staff so helpful. Hotel and grounds are amazing. It really is a beautiful place. We will defo be back. :)
My wife and I stayed here for three nights to attend a family wedding where the reception was held at this lovely hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the reception. Over the three days of our stay there was a wedding reception each day. The hotel staff coped admirably with the demands of all the guests. Our bedroom was very well appointed. Providing clear guidance when was the best time to have breakfast was much appreciated. A special mention for a superb barman who made excellent cocktails and was most attentive. Take a bow Darragh and thank you. We hope to be back for more Cosmopolitans!
Stayed in the hotel for 1 night as a break as I am recovering from an illness. I was really going for a rest. The hotel was very busy with a wedding amongst other things. We were greeted at reception, there was a very irate guest being very rude to one of the reception staff but she handled it very well. We used the thermal suite which was lovely and staff there were very welcoming and helpful. We got room service and breakfast and lunch next day. Again staff were perfect. The stay was enhanced by one of the reception staff I think named Grainne. She went out of her way to accommodate me and my needs. She was friendly and interested. I had a very peaceful nights rest in a lovely room in a part of the hotel is hadn't stayed in before. I really like the Maryborough and their facilities and staff are great.
Incredible thermal suites, perfect for relaxation. Food in the restaurant was delicious and service impeccable. The only issue was our room was above the function room where a wedding was taking place and the music was very loud. Due to the hotel being at full capacity we were unable to switch rooms but we brought this to the attention of the staff at check out and they were very apologetic and could not have been nicer.
