Recently visited this hotel and while the accomdation is excellent We were very disappointed in their breakfast. They need to employ someone who can cook a breakfast our breakfast was raw we did complain but who wants another Breakfast!!😣
We are just home after attending a conference in Maryborough hotel in Cor k An absolute superb hotel set I beautiful gardens. The staff could not have been more friendly and were so efficient. Nothing we asked for was to much. The standard of the food was also top class.looking forward to returning.
The bedrooms are recently renovated so are fresh, clean and well-equipped. I was in room 127; it had a pleasant patio area outside the French windows which caught the evening sun. The hotel restaurant is popular with local visitors and guests alike. The food was excellent; well presented, freshly made and served by a professional brigade of waiters and waitresses. Breakfast was a particular highlight with a huge selection on offer at the cold buffet and an imaginative selection of dishes cooked to order. I was running a meeting and the conference facilities were modern, with excellent AV equipment on hand and again excellent service. There is a full service spa and gym. The hotel is set in its own extensive grounds so is quiet and yet handy for the city of Cork itself as well as the airport. Thoroughly recommended.
Stunning hotel, great facilities, outstanding service and delicious food! Beautiful wedding venue!!! breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. Rooms were a great size. Sauna, steam room and pool topped off our stay!
We booked our annual girls weekend for the first weekend in March, however with the snow and being unable to travel we had to amend to April. The reservations team & spa team changed the dates without any issue what so ever. We arrived down early on Saturday 28th April, we decided to have lunch before checking in,the hotel was busy with wedding preparations and communions, we sat in the terrace area enjoying the sun and overlooking the grounds, we ordered drinks and toasties, these were on the table in no time at all and were delicious! After lunch we went to reception to check in and were given rooms down past the spa area, they we large, airy, small decking area and immaculately clean, they had welcome happy birthday plates with chocolate strawberries and truffles as there was a few birthday's in the group, this was only mentioned in an email months back, but it goes to show the attention to detail of the staff. We were staying on a dinner, spa bed and breakfast package and our dinner was booked in the restaurant for 7pm. We were seated and given our menu's, the selection is fantastic, the scallops and steak were a crowd pleaser as was the cocktail selection. After dinner we stayed on for drinks in the bar, it was a little quieter after the meal and we sat in for the night in front of the fire catching up. The wedding was in full swing and some guests were around the bar area, but there was no noise from the function room and we sat back and enjoyed the atmosphere. The barman was a pure gentleman kept the gin and tonic's flowing. Breakfast was relaxed and a great selection, we didn't stay to long as we had our spa treatments booked for 11am, reception kindly gave us a 1pm check out just to allow us a little time to get organised. Sarah in the spa looked after our booking when we initially booked, the spa was beautiful and all of the girls would highly recommend, the relaxation room with the waterfall windows to the sauna and treatments were excellent, the girls in the spa were so helpful with any questions as two ladies who attended were pregnant and they recommended the a package to suit them. It was a fabulous weekend, I cannot rate the hotel highly enough, the team from reservations, front office, bar, restaurant, spa and management were so lovely from start to finish it was a pleasure to stay and we will be back soon.
A nice standard hotel complete with spa and leisure facilities. Quiet location nice grounds ample parking- good food at Bellini restaurant. Friendly staff. Bar staff very good. Room was overlooking the roof of the spa but also the back service entrance so if delivery trucks reversing at 0600 or workmen emptying bins or loading empty kegs is your perfect morning wake-up then youll love our room. The room itself didn't have aircon so rooms were stuffy, you had to leave windows open for airflow and to conpensate for a very productive central heater. Not great when it rains. The bathroom could do witj an exhaust fan i reckon. The food was good but 2 days in a row the waiters got my order wrong. Twice by 2 different waiters. Look, it was ok but when you're paying €180 for the first night and a whopping €280 for the second I expected more.
This was my third visit to the Maryborough and it is fast becoming my favourite hotel in Cork. On check in we were met by the lovely Brian Fahy, Front Desk Manager, who checked us in and could not have been nicer along with the rest of the front desk team we met throughout our stay. When we arrived at our room we were taken aback, we were staying in Room 243, a suite in the original Maryborough house section of the hotel and all I can say is WOW! Between the old fireplace, exposed old brickwork and wooden beams, the room was fantastic. There was a wedding taking place in the hotel during our stay and we got the chance to take a look at the area for the drinks reception and it was beautiful. Breakfast and breakfast service was top class. We also made the most of the facilities and used the thermal suites in the Spa, as well as top class facilities, the staff were so friendly. Every staff member we met during our time at the hotel made us feel so welcome. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and am already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you all
A quiet, scenic setting. Various modern updates. Breakfast was wonderful! Coffee was perfect. We also had sandwiches and chips at the restaurant - top notch! Only about a 15 minute taxi ride from Cork and the perfect place to relax. Staff were very helpful to us!
Placed over the Maryborough Hill, the hotel takes the name of the place where is situated. A wonderful Spa, luxury rooms and terrific Bellini Restaurant managed by Gemma Murphy... A great certainty into the kitchen. To try tge Skeaghanore Duck Breast. I have found a similar one only in Perigord.
Or stay was lovely. No issues with the place and would love to go back. The staff was kind and professional. A wedding was talking place and we did have concern this might interrupt our stay however it did not.
