After seeing the lovely photos of this hotel on booking.com, we reserved what was described as a room with a view. The long winding drive through greenery was welcoming. The reception area and main floor are pretty and look out to the garden. Excited to get settled we were led to a room that smelled so heavily of mold and damp, we found it hard to breath (room 139) We called reception and were told the hotel was fully booked and there was nothing they could do for us. After a trip to reception they offered us a room a short ways down the hall on the other side (room 130). Fortunately there was no smell and it was clean and comfortable. There was no "view" in either room. The first had a small patio enclosed by bushes making it quite dark. The other looked out to a very unattractive courtyard with some wood structures that were in bad shape. We kept the curtains shut. The walls are paper thin, so you hear talking from the hall and rooms next door. We were awoken with a start at 6:00am the next morning to a hideous argument between the couple next door, complete with foul language. The argument got more heated and moved to the room across the hall. Couldn't go back to sleep after that. This hotel hosts a lot of weddings. It seemed to us they cater favorably to wedding guests. Breakfast buffet was decent and hot options like eggs Benedict and omelettes are made to order. Service was friendly and quick. There are multiple steps leading up to the main entrance and reception area. So, if you need help with luggage upon arrival or departure, reception will arrange it for you.

On my first night here one of the cushions on the bed tore across my face about 3 inches. The zipper was broken and left with a hook in the cushion. Two people arrived one to clean the cut and one to take away the offending item. The first aid box they brought up had nothing the girl needed to wash my face. The poor girl spent 5 minutes trying to rip up bandages as there were no wipe and no scissors. I heard no more after this not even an apology from management

Every time we stay here it keeps getting better. Friendly efficient staff. And very good food. Beautiful bedrooms. Make sure to book a done in the restaurant . Great selection for breakfast. Beautiful grounds.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for business. Overall it is a great experience, the property, friendly staff. The only minor complaint I have is they host wedding ceremonies frequently when we were there, sometimes their music was very loud into the evening, and the drunk guests could knock on your room at night!

disappointing hotel I felt hotel could have been looking better wedding there on 22/07/2017 which we were not told about when made the booking...I was looking forward to trip and was disappointed The hotel needs to be painted looks very run down..

Staying with other members of the family we had connecting rooms on the second floor. Room very spacious, well equipped and bed was comfortable. It was very quiet though as others have noted lacks air conditioning. Breakfast very good with plenty of choice both on the buffet and from the menu of cooked items. We didn't use the Spa but we did enjoy the use of the pool. Grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Didn't eat in the restaurant but can certainly recommend the energy flapjacks from the bar - if there are 2 of you, you may find that one portion is enough to share.

As guests at a wedding this hotel blew us away and forces me to ask why it isn't a 5 star? It has so much more than any 5 star we stayed in throughout the country. May I list? Lovely floral gardens with plenty of nooks and corners for children to play. They can create their fantasy world with the fairy doors, the witch, Hansel and Gretel, endless fun and imaginative play here. Their gym with a trainer ever ready to part with his expertise, jugs of water with orange and lime, the array of baking, fruit, compotes, meats, cheese, smoothies at breakfast - all home made, all labelled, the luxurious king-sized bed, powerful shower, peace, quietness, the quality and personableness of staff, outdoor seating for al fresco dining or to read a book. These are extras as it has all the rest which a 5 star boasts of.... So why not up this to a 6 star....? Loved it.

Stayed here with my husband for a treat for one night. Expected it to be wow from the reviews but let me down. Got a room that felt more like a one bedroom apartment then a luxury room. Room had wooden floors which made it feel cold. The tv was on the wall at the right side of the room so couldn't watch it from the soda without having to twist around same as lying in bed. Shower in the bathroom was lovely but it was over the bath and very high to step over. Sliding door to th bathroom left a gap when closed. Rooms were roasting Breakfast and dinner were fab and staff were lovely. Leisure center was lovely could do with updating but still enjoyed it Had seafood chowder and found bones in it never happened before. There are better hotels so don't think I would return

It was a one night stay at Cork and we decided to stay a little bit out of the city centre. Maryborough is located some 10 minutes drive from downtown Cork. The hotel is in a huge grounds with a very nice garden where we can sit and enjoy drinks. Parking is easily available and free for guests. Best part was the breakfast. The egg hollandaise was divine and simply the best I have had in a long time. The buffet spread was good as well. The hotel would have merited a 5 star rating if air-conditioning was available. It got a little stuffy at night on a warm summer.

We loved it here, everything was great. Lovely food, friendly staff, great atmosphere. The massages worked perfect, Amazing feeling. I highly recommend this hotel, we definitely are coming back. Thank you!
