Casa La Carmen S. XVIII rehabilitada, situada en el corazón del Casco Histórico

La casa está situada junto a la puerta medieval del Portillo, abierta para comunicar los antiguos barrios Islámicos de la Medina y la Axerquía. En la cercana Plaza Mayor de la Corredera, lugar de encuentro social se sitúa el Mercado Central. En la Plaza del Potro, se ubican El Museo de Bellas Artes, Museo Julio Romero de Torres y la Posada del Potro, actual Centro Flamenco Municipal con actuaciones en directo. La zona está rodeada de tabernas clásicas, y variada e innovadora oferta gastronómica, sitios de copas con amplias terrazas orientadas hacia el río, que se configura como un gran espacio natural adaptado para el ocio y esparcimiento.
Casa La Carmen.
Orientada al sur, con acceso directo desde la calle, la casa se distribuye en tres niveles independientes, donde se sitúa cada estancia.
Zaguán, salón y cocina en planta baja, baño independiente y dormitorio de matrimonio en la primera planta y otro dormitorio, diáfano con dos camas individuales en la segunda planta.
La vivienda está decorada con una estética muy personal donde abundan los detalles y materiales naturales, (madera, piedra y barro), que le aportan una calidez especial, que se complementa con pequeñas colecciones de artesanía popular y elementos singulares de carácter etnográfico, así como pinturas y esculturas de autor. Las puertas, antiguas y restauradas por los propietarios, cuentan con pequeños detalles que hacen de la vivienda un espacio peculiar y armonioso.
Si el número de huéspedes es inferior a 3 y quieren utilizar las 2 habitaciones tiene que realizar un pago extra de 15€ por noche.

Adriana I a truly superior host. She went out of her way to ensure our trip went smoothly. For example. She booked a taxi for us. She gave us great recommendations for meals. She gave us tips on navigating the entrance requirements to the Mezquita. She helped us find stores for items we needed. Charming and well located. Safe and comfortable. Easy walk to everything. Quiet at night with wonderfully dark bedroom. Lively touches inside Adriana could not have been more helpful and charming, helped us with dinner/ flamenco and taxi reservations. Stay here!

Adriana’s home was very cleaned and organized. She welcomed us with open arms. Provided us with instructions and lots of recommendations of places to visit and dine. She even helped us make a reservation to Salinas Tabernas. She sent text messages checking in on us, which was sweet. Couldn’t not have asked for a better hostess.

A great little find!

We were warmly greeted by Adriana our friendly and helpful host, who imparted really useful information with tips to get the most of our stay. The property is wonderfully quaint and quirky, steeped in history, excellently situated and easy walking distance to the main tourist attractions.

Great location, thoughtful owner

The owner is very thoughtful and thorough. She made great local recommendations, and the accommodations were pleasant, clean, and comfortable. There are also places very nearby for groceries. We truly enjoyed our stay here.

Casa La Carmen has many 10* reviews and that is completely justifiable. The historic feel and attention to detail is wonderful, we had everything we needed as well as complimentary items, books to read etc. The location is ideal for exploring on foot much of what Cordoba has to offer, with lots of restaurants nearby as well. The bed was very comfortable, note that there are steep stairs and perhaps it is not suitable for the elderly or families with young children. The owner, Adriana, is a wonderful host and our check-in was filled with useful ideas and information. She also kept on touch throughout our stay and even dropped by to see us safely on our way at check-out, booking a taxi for us was helpful due to our lack of good Spanish (by the way, there do not seem to be Ubers in Cordoba). Thank-you Adriana, you really are a kind and thoughtful person, we were honoured to meet you.

We stayed two nights. Adriana was great at communicating with us on our way there. She greeted us when we arrived and let us know everything about the apartment. She had lovely tips on places to see and where to eat. We’d definitely stay again if we’re back in the area!

Wonderful little museum

It was realy great in this little house. Everthing and every corner ist decorated with Love to the detail. We did not miss anything. The welcome was perfect. If you visit Cordoba it is the best place to stay.

The property is full of antiques and old world charm. Ariana our host was excellent and explained everything and gave us some wonderful recommendations for eating out. Great location in the beautiful old town. Highly recommend.
