Charming stay

Charming house in a great location for Old Town Colorado Springs. The pool hall is cold in the winter, but the house was comfortable for our stay. Very clean and the host was very responsive to issues. We cooked for most of the stay, including a Christmas turkey, and the kitchen was fairly well appointed. We will stay here again.

The house was very clean and comfortable. Some things needed fixed including the ceiling fan in the bedroom (loud clinking noise) and the sliding barn door in the master bath (did not stay closed).

Nice stay for a family of 4

This property is very clean, cute with modern decor and very welcoming. It is in a nice location and an easy walk to Old Colorado City shops. Owner is good with communication and is very accommodating. There are a few things that could have been improved: 1)the kitchen has very limited supplies (would love basics supplies like foil, plastic wrap, more utensils, extra dish soap, paper towels, serving bowls,etc) 2) most of the patio set chairs are broken making it completely unusable. 3) although there are AC units in the bedrooms, the living room/kitchen area get pretty warm especially if any cooking is done in the house. Another unit in the living room would be ideal. 4) Very limited linens. Only 4 bath towels and 1 kitchen/hand towel provided. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

-good location -spacious home, looks like pictures -"no heat" in the man cave (garage) BURR...in Feb. -only streaming Tv (NO local channels/cable) Fyi on my 4star. The code for keypad door did not work. Called property manger, Kaitlin which she was able to give me a new code to get in. The other thing was the TV. Not able to watch the end of Superbowl unless we signed up for a free trial (w/credit card) or sign under our cable company (which ours was not on the list) We sent a text and called more than several times to property manger, finally responded but could not help us. Very disappointing and frustrating. Last, when I spoke with Kaitlin over the phone before I booked, I asked her through email and a phone call if the "man cave" in the garage had heat.? She stated to me "yes" and "it does not" have heat. I question due to a past review saying the same thing. They were told it had heat and they could not use during winter stay(To Cold) And yes it was cold. We moved a floor heater into the garage but really did not heat up at all. Disappointed and confused why she would tell me there was heat in the man cave and there is not.....

Cozy Stay

Such a lovely home walking distance to the Old Colorado City shops. Fire pit and BBQ made for some great family time at night. The garage has a pool table, darts and corn hole but is very cold due to not having any heating equipment so dress warm if you plan on being there for a long period of time. House has been recently renovated and feels very cozy and welcoming. Very centrally located to some wonderful locations (Manitou Springs, Gardens of the Gods, Caves of the Winds). Castle rock outlets for great shopping about 45 minutes away.

Clean and cute

Kaitlyn is a great host. Every question I had she responded back immediately. The house was clean and in a great spot. There is a cute area within walking distance with restaurants and shops. There was a farmers market there on Saturday. Weโ€™d stay here again.

needs new beds

Pros: Clean house. Felt safe in this neighborhood. Close to Old Colorado City shopping which was nice. Also close to garden of gods and lots of other touristy stuff, restaurants, etc. Bar/restaurant nearby called Mother Muffs has excellent breakfast and I would highly recommend. Kids loved the pool table in the garage. Washer and dryer which I loved. Quiet neighborhood although a few homeless like to hang out at the nearby church, they were no bother. Nice kitchen with dishwasher and snacks/drinks left for us by host which I appreciated. Cons: Beds were not comfortable. They are very firm memory foam beds, too firm for me and left me hot all night. The pull out bed in the living room is old and worn out, marginally ok for kids to sleep on. The two small a/c window units don't cool the house, which would be no big deal except we were there during a heat wave (90s in colorado is unusually hot) and I know many houses in colorado don't have air at all so if this is a big deal for you look elsewhere. Really, if the beds would have been better I would have felt great about this house but unfortunately we didn't sleep well at all on these beds.

Not good for a winter rental

On a positive note, the house was very clean and had everything you would need, and appears recently renovated. The first issue was we couldnโ€™t gain access and couldnโ€™t reach the host. I had to contact VRBO to get an emergency #, get a contact phone up front if you rent. Turns out the breakers in the kitchen had tripped and the system used to program the door would not work. We discovered this after not being able to get several appliances to work in the kitchen. All was resolved by resetting the breakers at the direction of the host after learning how to access the locked closet. Not convenient and the house had no heat on upon arrival at 4:30pm in mid November. This was the biggest issue- no central heat and windows and doors are drafty, which would have been fine but the wall heaters could not keep up with the 20 degree mornings. No heat at all in the kitchen, and one of the biggest amenities (garage room with pool table) had no heat at all so was unusable. And no apologies for this. This needs disclosed for winter month rentals in my opinion. Location was convenient and neighborhood was quiet.

Fantastic location and communication

The property is stylish and clean with plenty of room for a family. The location allows you to walk to a huge variety of good restaurants and shops. It is also a good jumping off point for the Garden of the Gods, mountains, etc. In the the city without being in heavy traffic, etc. If you like to order in and relax the proximity of restaurants means you have your meals in very short order. Definitely recommend and think it is a great price point for CO Springs.
