Right in the old city and around a kilometer from the famous Heumarkt and city center. This is a very convenient hotel with a bar and a restaurant with a good variety of stuff. An outdoor area too to enjoy drinks when the weather is not too harsh. Nice staff too. Rooms are a mix of old and renovated ones and during my stays once stayed in older and once in the new. I'd prefer the new one!
Located just 10m away from city centre (walking) it's a perfect choice to turism. There's a bus station in front of the hotel, a train station near also. Staff is great and friendly, the room was nice with wifi and cable TV. A million of options for breakfast, really complete! I will repeat for sure and I fully recommend it.
We stayed in this hotel during WCH 2017 in ice-hockey. The hotel has very good location, close to the city center (about 10 minutes walk) and also to the hockey stadium (2 tram stops). You can enjoy tasty breakfast (for additional fees) with a lot of choices from bread, cornflakes, fresh fruit, yogurt to warm corner, and of course the coffee and various types of tee. The room was fine with everything you need incl. TV and free wifi. The bathroom was clean.
Good check in. Was able to check in early. Room had a bad smell from the bathroom drains and mold in the shower. Bed were not comfortable and the decor is of early 90s. A good breakfast with loads of choice. The use of key card to activate the lift is a good security system, but you don't need the key to access one of the lifts and the stairs. So not secure. Although location is good Think before you book this one.
A very neat and clean property. Ideally located within close proximity of the heart of the city. The rooms are very well maintained with good housekeeping. The breakfast is very good. The staff at the reception very courteous. Stayed at the property from 05 to 08 June 2017. Will definitely recommend to others.
4 Stars are justified for this hotel. Service, room and breakfast are good enough to meet this standard. However, there has really been no delight which made me feel happy. I felt sick and had a terrible night after eating in the hotel restaurant. My room faced a railway station with a very busy street so I could not open the window. The airconditioner did not really help... Checkout took 15 min since there are only 3 desks to deal with many many guests. I will not come back if I have other options.
We stayed here for 4 nights during the recent exhibition. It is superbly convenient, only 3 stations direct to Messe. The station is just next to the hotel. Every morning we had breakfast a the nice bakery located just opposite the hotel. There is also a supermarket Rewe less than 10 mins walk from the hotel. The room I was given was nice, spacious and clean. The staff at the front desk were friendly. Internet was free. A good stay. I plan to stay here from now on.
It was recommended and it really make my stay very pleasant. Very good bar service with espectacular burgers as you can see in the added picture. Reasonable price and very convenient to walk to downtown.
We were very happy when we arrived at Mecure Koran City. Room was clean and good size. The bathroom was clean and had a nice shower. While watching TV we lost electricity to our room called downstairs and they fixed it. However sometime During the night we again lost electricity. on the way out to breakfast we reported to the desk staff that we had no electricity in our room. They then sent up housekeeping with more coffee which we didn't request. The housekeeping came back with extra milk which we didn't ask for. We then told desk staff that we still didn't have any electricity. In the meantime I had to have a shower in the dark after an hour's wait for someone to have a look at what was happening with our electricity. Then to have a cup of tea in our room I had to walk through the hotel and up the lift with 2 cups of boiling water. I reported our electricity problem to a 3rd staff member who did eventually get someone to have a look at our problem. In all we had to wait 2 hours for someone to have a look which took the tradesman 5 minutes to fix. Not pleased. Also I am an Accor member just glad I didn't pay for membership as the two occasions that we have stayed with the Accor group in Europe have been problems.
I was staying at this hotel on my current business trip, after a friend recommend the neighbouring location at Koeln old-town, in southern part or Koeln. I had made two reservation (1. Sat-Mon, 2. Mon-Wed), one via hotel directly and another one via booking.com (altogether with another reservation for a colleague). During the check in, I told the front-desk officer that I have two reservation and would like to keep the same room. I asked him what to do, and he said that I can stay until Wednesday and he already updated the system, so I don't need to report/check out on Monday and neither do 2nd check in at the same time. I confirmed to the another ront-desk officer on Sunday morning, and she told me the same. On Monday, I went to my business meeting and back to this hotel on the evening to find out that my key room was not working!!!! I went back to the front desk, and another different staf told me that I need to depart today!!! WTF I was pushed to raise my tone, and told her that two her colleagues told me that I can stay in the same room till Wednesday. She unhapilly check on her computer and re-programming my keyroom!!! Rude and lack of hospitality!!! On my check out in Wednesday, my experiemce as avid business traveller knows that normally the housekeeping has a list which room will be vacated, and gave the guess some time to pack before the official check-out time. What happen in this hotel is, they knock your door as early as 09.00!!!!! Can you believe it? I again was annoyed and ask her to come back later, and she keep insisted only to do minibar check with me not dressed appropiately. Unbelievable!!!! I hope, I was the last one to experience this unbelivable circumstances. Oh, one more thing: I would recommend to save €19 for breakfast at the hotel. Better to have €3-5 breakfast outside, and save the money for better and decent lunch...
