About this property

AIA-Honored Mountain Retreat · Modern 3BR Design Home with Big Views

Seasonal: Roads and driveway are plowed in winter, but all-wheel drive is strongly advised for the driveway. After Thanksgiving, the home is decorated for the winter holidays with a lighted tree, holiday fireplace décor, and holiday lights. Upholstered patio furniture is stored for the season, but durable seating and tables remain.

Welcome to 320 Palouse, a modern mountain lodge set high above Cle Elum at 3,000 feet—where the air is clear, the nights are cool, and the design blends stone, cedar, and glass into a single peaceful retreat.

Designed by Seattle architect Lane Williams, this distinctive three-building home connects living, sleeping, and recreation wings through enclosed breezeways. Granite-clad walls and floor-to-ceiling windows frame evergreens and distant views of the Stuart Range, creating a sense of calm and connection with nature.

Inside, a vaulted great room anchors the home with comfortable seating, a gas fireplace, and a chef’s kitchen equipped for family meals or entertaining friends. Step through the breezeway to the bunk-room wing, where you’ll also find the game room with ping-pong, air hockey, Pop-A-Shot, a dartboard, and a Nintendo Switch with family-friendly games—a space for friendly competition after a day of hiking or skiing.

The Private Suite offers a king bed, sitting area, and ensuite bath with a walk-in shower, jetted tub, dual towel warmers, and a washlet-style bidet for spa-like comfort.
The Bunk Room features two queen-over-queen bunks plus two Twin XL beds that can combine into a king—perfect for kids or flexible groups. A spacious bath includes dual towel warmers and another washlet-style bidet.
A Den / Flex Room doubles as a second lounge with its own gas fireplace, built-in window-seat daybed, two roll-out twin beds, and a dedicated workspace.

Two full bathrooms serve the home, both with modern fixtures, towel warmers, and washlet seats. A high-capacity washer and dryer support longer stays.

Comfort features
• AC, central heating, two gas fireplaces
• Fast Wi-Fi and three large smart TVs with Netflix, Disney+, NFL+, and Spotify
• Fully equipped kitchen with Dacor range and quality cookware
• Private well with filtered water
• Ample parking and level driveway access

Outside, stone terraces and native landscaping frame the surrounding ridge. Enjoy morning coffee in the breezeways, sunsets over the pines, or the hush of a winter snowfall—the lodge is designed to make every season feel special.

Location
320 Palouse is minutes from Roslyn’s restaurants and Cle Elum’s shops, 15 minutes from Suncadia Resort, and about 90 minutes from Seattle. Nearby trailheads for the Teanaway and Iron Horse Trail offer hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.

Whether you’re gathering family, reconnecting with friends, or seeking quiet time in the mountains, this lodge balances architectural style with relaxed Northwest comfort.

Note: Four exterior cameras are installed — two Ring cameras at the front door and garage for guest check-in, one overlooking the driveway, and one on a tree facing the forest and game trail. All are motion-activated, record video only (no audio), and there are no interior cameras.
Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. The bathroom offers a jetted tub, hair dryers, and bidets. Other standard amenities include a kitchen, a washing machine, and 2 bathrooms.

Great stay overall — excellent communication, very clean, pet friendly, and kid-friendly with lots of games. Best suited for a single family traveling together. The bedrooms layout is more child-oriented than adult-oriented.

This home has an outstanding mountain view. The distinct living areas allow both time together or separate. Very quiet and private location. We visited over Christmas and appreciated the Christmas tree and other decorations. House was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. Great communication with host.

This house is amazing! By far the best VRBO house we’ve ever stayed in. Here are the highlights:1. Communication and direction from the host was amazing! Everything was easy and well explained.2. The house is in a great location. Close to Cle Elum but up in the hills and far enough away that you get privacy and quiet! It looked brand new and was so comfortable. The views were breathtaking! 3. There are three separate sections to the house. One is the livable space where everyone hangs out. This was great. Huge windows to look at the beautiful scenery (and binoculars). The kitchen had everything you could ask for. The TV was easy to use and had tons of channels to chose from. Another section of the house was the master bedroom area, which was perfect. All the amenities that you could hope for. The last section of the house is a large room with lots of beds and this is the side of the house where the game room and laundry is. It is perfect. The kids could have fun and we couldn’t hear them! The game room was awesome. So many fun things for kids to do! 4. The house had absolutely everything you could ask for. We never had to go anywhere to get something. There was laundry soap, bathroom, supplies, spices, all the kitchen supplies you could need, snow shovel, dog bowls, spare towels, a fully stocked “coffee bar” and SO much more. 5. Leaving the house was easy. Not a long list of things to do. We will definitely go back!!
