This is possibly the best couples retreat you can find. Quiet, beautiful views night and day, abundant wildlife and plenty of space to walk and talk. It is a house for two that has character and memories and we love to see it happily come to life. Hosts are exceptional and the residence is always clean and the land well kept. We'll keep coming back.

This is by far the greatest place I’ve stayed and the best host, she goes above and beyond for her guest and is very thoughtful with her guest in mind. The place is very clean and beautiful and the outside is just as beautiful

We were looking for a quiet, serene oasis in a rural setting to recharge. We found it at Old Mills Farm. The property exceeded our expectations. Pride of ownership was evident from the moment we entered this quaint but upscaled home. Many extras to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable - comfortable seating in dining and living rooms, well equipped kitchen (with quality flatware, linens, appliances and cookware), beautiful bathroom (equipped with sample toiletries and quality towels). We enjoyed our breakfast on the back terrace. Great middle ground to visit the rail trails in Mount Airy and Galax. Communication with our Host, Lori, was excellent. Would love to visit again!

Couple's Get-away Under the Stars

The old Mills farm is like going home. The vast backyard invites you to experience the night sky and all it’s wonders. The patio is perfect for quiet evenings by a fire or for morning sunrise yoga, and the lounge chairs provide a place to relax and get some sun. We enjoyed the deer and surrounding woods where we could experience nature in full surround sound. The house is cozy and comfortable, with plenty of amenities to feel like home. We appreciated the host's details and respect for our privacy. This was not our first stay, and it most certainly will not be our last!

Relaxing 4 days

This is the perfect place to rest, relax, and explore the area.We had 2 days of rain, one of which we just rested and the other rainy day we explored Mt Airy. The farmhouse has been tastefully renovated and equiped. The owner is very organized and had all we could possibly need labeled and accessible. Communication with the owner was excellent.

A unique getaway from the common foothills home, this 100 year old gem has had lots of TLC with a modern kitchen and bathroom topping the list. A breathtaking back patio view won't disappoint, day or night. Great communication with the host and a flawless entry.

Perfect get away

Location was perfect, no neighbors or loud noise. Property was well maintained, clean, easy accessible and beautiful views. We watch the deer graze in the yard, walked the property and it’s amazing!! We can’t wait to go back!!!

We had a great experience here - the farm is beautiful and the house has been nicely updated. We enjoyed learning some about the house and family history as well! Lori is a great and responsive host and made sure we were well taken care of, with personalized notes on the welcome info she provided.

Peaceful setting

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners have clearly made a tremendous effort to preserve their family farm. And that they are willing to share this is generous. A newly renovated farmhouse is quite comfortable and nicely appointed for the couple who prefers peace and quiet over being close to the action. Surrounded by picturess land and plentiful wildlife one is truely able to relax. We are thankful the owner has chosen to share their family legacy with us.
