Basically, most of the HIE are the same....one knows what they are getting into - the breakfast was the typical Holiday Inn, the bed was very comfortable, the hotel was clean. Pam, at the front desk, was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for getting off and on the interstate.
My husband and I stopped here on our way from Sarasota, Florida, to Nashville, Tennessee. The beds were so comfy! Great mattresses and linens. The room was very clean and accommodating. The whole place has been updated. The free breakfast was what you normally expect but there was the addition of bacon. The dining room was very spacious and the staff was great! Highly recommend this Holiday Inn.
Stopped by without reservations. Able to get a room. Off-season. Not sure if new property or redone, but gorgeous, craftsman style. Friendly check in, clean room, comfy but HIGH bed. Standard HIE breakfast. Restaurants nearby (many). Hotel has list. About half mile east of 65, making very quiet.
We were here 3 nights for an event that was near by. Clean, friendly staff at front desk. It is a bit pricey for the area and compared to other Holiday Inn Expresses I have stayed at. Breakfast options were fine - we have one gluten free member of the family and it is always harder from them.
After traveling all day we stopped in Clanton on a rainy evening... the hotel was nice and the beds so comfortable but the fan in the bathroom which was connected to the light switch was very loud and vibrated...we actually got dizzy when in the room.Unfortunately one needed to turn on the switch while in the bathroom. A poor design, a fan does not need to go on every time someone enters a bathroom. Whether this is the way all the rooms are I do not know, but because of this we will probably not choose this hotel location when we are in the area.
Thank you Dana for your excellent customer service and for going out of your way to help with a difficult situation. Customer service has truly shined with your efforts and professionalism. Thank you -laundry snowstorm guest
Breakfast is good, rooms are good, parking lot is annoying getting in and out of. The HIE brand seems plagued by internet that either doesn’t work, or is so slow you cant work. This wireless disconnected my phone and computer every minute. I connected via Lan cable, and called the front desk for the password. She didn’t have it, and said she believed the “old system was no longer usable” 2 hours late, wireless still wasn’t working, and it was midnight. HIE needs to fix their internet system, its 2017 not 1999. Anything under 1Mbps is a rip off.... of course not getting past the login screen is even worse.
Newly remodeled- Looks like new!! Huge tub for soaking and great shower head. Beautiful carpet, curtains and nice decorating touches. Such a wonderfully comfortable mattress. Will stop here again. Staff at front desk were so nice.
First, this is a fantastic HIE! Very clean with outstanding staff. We have stayed here in the past. We were immediately greeted at the check in desk and it was fast and efficient. The ONLY reason I gave a 4 rating was a strange fact that the tub side is very tall and is difficult to climb over with arthritic knees. I mentioned this to desk staff, who said next time I could borrow a step stool. I do not remember these being this elevated in the past. Unsure if this is a result of a remodel or what. Simply poorly executed from the perspective of someone with minor mobility issues. This will not deter me from staying again next time. Again very clean, quiet and has friendly staff.
We landed in Clanton quite by accident due to car trouble. We were a little stressed but even when I couldn't reach my husband on the phone, Deborah offered to call the dealership so I could speak with my husband. Everyone was very accommodating to our needs. This hotel has been recently renovated and is in basically good condition. The night we checked in Wendy was also very accommodating answering all the questions we asked and giving us information about the "rewards program" and signing us up.
