As a couple this hotel fits us very good, we had a very good view and the room was clean and the bathroom was clean. The service was good at the reception and the dinning place. The reception had a very strong perfume smell that was a bit to strong. The location was perfect, it was good walking distance to the most viewed attractions and street. There was also no problem to find a taxi nearby if needed. We liked that the room had a great view, good location and quite. We didn't like the breakfast and the strong smell in the reception hall.
Good location,on edge of pedestrian shopping area and within walking distance to river and Hongyadong building. Many restaurants within five minutes walk. My room was spacious. Decor slightly dated and also the walls are thin,I could hear the other guest(s) in the room next to me.Cleanliness could be improved, especially in the bathroom those really long black hairs were definitely not mine. Breakfast was passable. A mixture of Asian and International standards. However, the breakfast area was crowded even at opening time 6:30AM it was getting quite full. Around 10: 00AM it was quite chaotic. The hotel overall is nice, the location is good, and staff are friendly. Rooms are spacious. But something is missing, Its deco and services are slightly below the InterContinental standards. You can call it a "slightly thriftier version" of regular 5-star IC hotels
Great location with many malls and attractions nearby Comfortable and clean rooms Hotel bfast has a gd spread. Love the noodles! The lounge has a pianist and singer at night till abt 1130pm. Not the beat singer but prob quite gd considering its chongqing.
comfortable room, functional and spacious gym, decent indoor pool, breadfast is ok. Service by staff is good. location is very good Only downside is air-con not working when I checked-in, but this problem was handled well. Overall, great stay
Great location - in the city center. You can walk to all the local and international food places. Large, Spacious Rooms! very convenient location! Affordable. Quality is decent, but good for China. Starbucks is across the street. Catching transportation is easy from here.
Stay here for one night, the lobby was a nightmare, the music play at the lobby was so loud give me a hard time talking to other people. However, the room size and hardware same some point for this hotel. Huge standard room, a nice standing shower and a tub. Old but well-maintained. Super good location, recommended for a short visit in chongqing.
We visited Chongqing with group of friends and we stayed in Interncontinental for 3 nights. We were looked after like VIP guests from our arrival to our departure. Rooms were really nice and clean. Services and personnel in hotel very service minded. Especial thanks to hotel GM Sharon, who looks after her guests together with her personnel extremely well.
To me, Chongqing itself was surprise. Biggest city in the world by size. Very modern city on top of Yangtze river. Beautiful city. IFC was very well run and near city central. Great staff, especially day shift manager. She was so friendly and knowledgeable that We were very impressed. Room was very comfortable and clean. Near hotel is where all of city's attractions are located. Hotpot originated from Chongqing, try one, you will feel pain in your rectum., All night.
This is one of those big grand looking hotel. Rooms were huge and well decorated. Service is good. I had very comfortable stay. Location wise very very good. every place is within walking distance. Highly recommend this hotel considering the price, location and room size. Wifi is not that good, was really struggling to send emails.
It's two years since my last visit to this hotel when I reviewed it as one of my favourite hotels in China. However, not much has moved on since then and the decor is starting to look worn and the shift towards a Chinese market, particularly those from dongbei has led to lower standards e.g. smoking in the lobby, smelly corridors and shabby carpets/lifts etc. There is even a shop selling Baijiu and cigarettes in the lobby, just like a 1990's hotel in Northern China. I should also mention the token laowai singer/piano player that performs for the gawking tourists in the lobby bar - if you don't like being the centre of attention, this is not the place for you anymore. Chongqing does suffer from a drain problem and the same smell you will find in your bathroom, is unfortunately, prevalent at most hotels in Chongqing. The rooms are very large and comfortable and I cannot fault them apart from the ageing decor. I had a package sent to the hotel beforehand (for an event I was hosting) and the hotel rejected it twice saying that they had no record of my booking and I wasn't staying there. When I arrived, I also tried to use my Eastern Miles card and was told I would need to call a call-centre just to get my points activated. After a while a more experience member of staff was able to help me - a bit of extra training would go a long way (customer first, be helpful to guests etc.). It's still a good hotel, but I'll try somewhere else next time.
