This classic Chico porch house lies on the historic Humboldt Wagon Road. The interior features a light and airy atmosphere with new amenities throughout. The property backs up to Little Chico Creek with greenbelt on one side and friendly neighbors on the other. Only seven blocks to Bidwell park and downtown!

My father and I completely remodeled this space in the Fall/Winter of 2016. The creek side location, classic porch and convenient location all make this the perfect pad for your trip to Chico!
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fenced private yard, and a coffee maker.

The house is adorable, spotlessly clean, and in a great location. Generously supplied with paper products, towels, and even coffee supplies. Very comfortable bedding, pillows, and cozy throws on each bed.A needed improvement is the barn door on the main area bathroom. It should be replaced to provide full privacy and a lock. While aesthetically nice, it’s out of sync with the exceptional quality of everything else. Also, living room area needs better / additional lighting for evening. It’s too dark. Since it’s been mentioned in other reviews, Chico has an overall issue with a homeless population, and there was a small encampment nearby. However, nobody disturbed us and we never felt unsafe.Responsive and flexible host. We would definitely stay again.

Adorable home. Interior is extremely clean. Interior appears as shown. My dog seemed to enjoy the visit. I would be remiss if I did not comment on the exterior of the home. Unfortunately, exterior of home gas been somewhat ignored. The front railing is covered with dust as well as the chairs and table on porch. I understand that it is winter, but it's been quite a while since these areas have been cleaned. Additionally, the backyard barbeque was recommended for use. As it was 72 degrees outside, it would have been a great experience. However, I wouldn't use it for anything. That's the reason for rating 4 stars rather than 5.

I didn't have any contact with the host after the initial want to rent. The house was exactly as promised, very clean and obviously remodeled extensively. We had our doodles with us and they loved having the backyard to explore!

The only immediately relevant issue is the back door. It only locks the outside knob, which means if you have not checked the lock before going outside, you may have locked yourself out of the house. (happened twice). Otherwise, house is fine, and well stocked. The house is in an older neighborhood with all the pluses and minuses that that entails. There is a large park at the very end of the street, (some distance away) which I ran thru but there did seem to be some homeless folks in that area. The host is attentive and helpful and responds quickly. We had an enjoyable stay.

Charming, recently updated home that was comfortable for me and my father. When I arrived the home was clean, stocked with the amenities I needed in the kitchen (including complimentary coffee) and even laundry supplies. The home had an EV charger which was great because our rental was an EV for our trip. The property owner walked me through how to turn the charger on and was very responsive. My only complaint, which is minor, is that the bedroom I stayed in did not have a ceiling fan, which I prefer when I sleep. That said, the home was a comfortable temperature and I slept just fine. I would stay here again when visiting.

Great family trip!

My entire family had a wonderful stay. The house was perfect for young kids. Nothing that they could get into and break and the space was open for them to play comfortably. The location was perfect for our daily bike ride through Bidwell and downtown. Would definitely stay here again!

Great little house

This property has been beautifully renovated and was spotlessly clean. The EV charger is a BIG plus! The house is near to everything we wanted to experience. If there is a downside it is the local traffic noise - which is significant 24/7... but nothing the owner can control. Bring your own measuring cups if you plan to cook/bake, because there are spoons, but no dry cups. The wifi also went in an out so we had to use our hotspots a few times as well. We'd definitely stay again next time we're in Chico.

We enjoyed our stay. The newly renovated bungalow was lovely, comfortable with nice amenities. We spent 13 days and enjoyed exploring the town, especially the dog park, we brought our canine friends. I worked out at Planet Fitness. We enjoyed our runs and walks and overall had a relaxed time in Chico.
