Great staff, location, needs upgrades
The staff was great, the location was great, the rooms are fine however the pull out sofa was terrible and old. This place needs some investments into its furniture, carpet, common areas. The furniture in the common area had ripped upholstery and had stains. This place could be and was once a great beautiful hotel but it needs some basic remodeling and furniture upgrades. I would stay here again because of the location and staff and if we did not need the pull out sofa but it’s a little run down.

When visiting Chicago, we always turn to the Silversmith to host us during a fun weekend! The complimentary drinks and easy access to transportation is the key factors making us love this hotel.

The hotel was fine, convenient to tourist attractions. The hotel room did not have a telephone, alarm clock, cell phone charging station, or extra linens of any kind. The room was booked for 3 people but the hotel failed to have the sofa bed prepared for our son and neglected to stock linens so that we could make the bed ourselves. We found ourselves waiting for bed linens late at night and when they did arrive, we were only provided a single fitted sheet. I had to request a top sheet and a blanket, no additional pillows were offered either. While the hotel was clean and central, that’s about it. Hospitality is not a priority. The additional fee is also a joke.
