We spent 4 nights here including New Years Eve. The location is absolutely perfect, literally backing onto a great night market and within walking distance of the river area and the old town. The staff are fantastic and the communal areas of the hotel are superbly furnished In a contemporary style. The downsides are that the rooms are becoming a bit tired and could do with a bit of a refurb, ours smelt of cigarettes. That said, they are a good size and beds are comfy. The breakfast is a bit disappointing, whilst there is a lot of choice, some of which is more for Chinese than English tastes, the overall quality was average. The hotel also faces a challenge in getting people to use the bar and restaurant as there is so much to see on the door step, this means that there is little incentive to sit in an empty bar. I have sympathy with the staff who are making huge efforts to encourage guests to use these facilities. Location, price and staff mean I would recommend it as a great base to explore Chiang Mai.
Our stay at dusit was very enjoyable. The bed here was the best in Thailand! The hotel is situated in a fab location with the food market just around the corner and a huge market on the main strip. Cleaners left little presents in orange box everyday which was a cute touch.
We were a party of 9 people and booked 5 rooms for 5 nights. On arrival, we were welcomed by the friendly hotel staff. On entering our rooms, we all noticed a musty odor. We decided to give the hotel a chance. After 2 nights we found the odor unbearable and decided to cut short our stay and move to another hotel close by. Besides the odor, we found the hotel to be dated and in desperate need of an upgrade.
Dusit D2..... DISASTER! Laundry... $65 for 6 Lbs.... unknowingly on the street $6.00 Message: mediocre at Best Terrible room Manager ... couldn’t care 3 stars on a good day Good location...breakfast staff gracious
I went for a holiday buffet at a local friend's invitation. The staff were nice, including the lady-man who got the bill wrong. The patronage was entirely worthy of a two-start hotel. The buffet selection shouted 'cheap' - and I should have insisted we change venue. It went right through me.
This is a repeated stay. The service is as good as we remembered it. The only disppointment was the shower. I booked this hotel for a room is walk in shower as my elderly father could not manage a shower over a bath tub. Luckily, we has 3 rooms and was able to swap. This place has a good location but the prices has also increased significantly compared to the same stay on the sane dates in previous years.
Corridors and Rooms have a terrible musty smell. General decor very dated, does not look anything like website. Light switches in bathroom need repairing. Shower poor. Bathroom not clean. Food generally below par. Staff very friendly and helpful. New Years Dinner over priced for what was offered. Don’t make it compulsory for guests. We moved hotels.
We spent 2 faultless nights here whilst exploring Chiang Mai. The location is great for a night time stroll through the night market. It also wasn't too far a walk from the main town area. The staff were very friendly and more importantly, the room was clean and comfortable. The pool area is adequate but nothing outstanding.
The lobby had pungent odour. Although the bath is nice the shower head is extremely hard. The staff are very friendly and are happy to help whenever it's needed. The spa and gym are very nice also. Overall I was slightly disappointed.
Ideal location to city night market, local restaurants, shops and the general hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai. A modern, clean hotel with good service and good sized comfortable rooms. Well equipped swimming pool. Good breakfasts with European and Asian buffets. Staff were excellent in all respects.
