A peaceful location after a hard day's work was a welcome experience at the Taj Club House, Chennai. Good ambience, courteous service, tasty food and comfortable bed - all requirements for a comfortable stay, were fulfilled. I shall surely stay again with Taj Club House.
Uncleaned carpets and AC vents. Gave me a dust allergy. Asked the staff to change the rooms, despite the change the experience was no different. The new room had a stench which gave me a headache and caused incessant sneezing.
I stayed here recently while working in Chennai. I have always stayed at the currently closed Connemara so unfortunately my observations were often made with comparison to that superior hotel. The staff at Taj hotels are always friendly and professional. During our stay individuals from the American navy checked in. They were not a credit to their country and the hotel management did not seem keen to do anything about the situation. However once we had complained the management took action beyond the expected and I sincerely thank them. The negative points do seem picky but these improvements would help guests. Improve information in rooms such as restaurant opening times and local information and a tv channel guide Give more information on the room to room dialling service Advise on your website that the fine dining restaurant is closed so there is nowhere to eat that has a dress code The service was in the main restaurant was very hit and miss and i spent a lot of time trying to catch the attention of a waiter The room service was not great and the toiletries were not a high standard Even by western standards items such as coffee and soft drinks were very expensive No stairs for people that don't use lifts To end on the positives Great location close to shopping Front office, door staff and guest relations were welcoming Good pool and gym and good instructors Superior rooms are a good size On the whole the restaurants were good, especially Kefi I would recommend this hotel, but if your budget allows stay at the other Taj hotels
I have now stayed in quite a few Taj hotels and this was a disappointment. The rooms are in serious need of a thorough renovation. Also, due to a recent change in law, the hotel does not serve alcohol. This was not brought to my attention prior to booking, which is not very good! Taj do have another hotel close by that does serve alcohol. They should consider offering free transport between hotels so that guests can enjoy a drink with dinner!
Excellent amenities, spacious rooms and best hospitality. Restaurant with wide variety of multi cuisine. Roof top restaurant with swimming pool gives a nice view. Located at centre of city with easy transportation.
Very nice restful pleasant stay. My elderly parents were well looked after, which was much appreciated as they visit there often on business. A few maintenance issues were taken care of by the staff. Good gym. Good traditional Tamil food & beverage available.
Excellent hospitality, good hotel and buffet breakfast is also has a good range. Like the behaviour of the staff and srvices like - gym, pool etc. Location is good and mid of the city. Airport is also near approx 16 km.
Stayed here during June 2017 for two nights. the hotel is well located and our stay was pleasant. the bathrooms were very small and the rooms are in need of renovation. the spa and swimming pool were well kept, though i was disappointed not to find a children's pool for my little one. the hotel is walking distance from a mall and room service is prompt.
Dined at Kefi last Friday (7/7) with dear friends. We were there just at the nick of time before the restaurant closed. Service was good - Taj quality, and so was the food. The chicken that I ordered was yummy. A couple of friends ordered Iskinder kebabs. I must say they were not done in the traditional way that Iskinders but then Chennai is a long way from the Med and this is the best med food you can get in Chennai. The hotel is quite 'bare' though - lacks the buzz or ambience of Coromandel or Connemara (currently closed).
overall i have excellent experience to stay in hotel. Note : If possible, add toilet jet spray in the wash room, because we are Indian. Also provide assistance for historical places/guide books. thanks Javed Javedcc@gmail.com
