Rooms are small but well set up, staff was very friendly and accomidating

Great hotel with friendly staff located a few blocks to the heart of the City. The hotel had a 1 hour happy hour from 4:30-5:30 each day with some cheese and crackers and wine/beer was $5 a glass. Then from 8:30-9:30pm they served home made cookies, coffee/tea and Charleston Chews as well. If your someone who likes to explore rent a car your first time to Charleston and visit some of the outlying areas such as Sullivans Island, Mont Pleasant, Magnolia Plantation and Patriots Point (USS Yorktown). Everything else was technically walkable- City Market, Aquarium and boat to Fort Sumter, numerous cemeteries and Churches and tons of places to eat and have a cocktail. There were even some shops that sold just desserts. Definitely will visit again.

We were only able to stay one night, and were not in our room except to sleep, but check-in was handled efficiently and in a friendly manner, room was very nice with the granite counter tops. The parking is probably one of the best perks about this hotel.

No late check out yet four star hotel. Odd. Place in severe need of upgrade. Has the feel of chain hotels, all of which are located nearby and at more reasonable rate

Great hotel for the price. Very walkable to shops and restaurants. Free parking is a plus.

This is not a $400 night hotel. Had to get to room via outside elevator much like a motel . Room was so tiny we kept bumping into furniture and had to move around in bathroom just to shut door. Nothing felt upscale. Not a bad place but not nearly worthy of the price

Stayed the weekend. Great location nice morning complimentary Tea/Coffee and late afternoon happy hour with complimentary olives/cheese and crackers. Easy to walk to all the sights and local dining establishments. A little pricey but we did enjoy our stay

The room was a smaller hotel with a cute little pool. The rooms were nice and clean but the best part about it was the location. Close to most of the major sights

Was very pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff, tasteful decor and accommodations of this hotel! Stayed here 2 nights for a girl's weekend, and we greatly enjoyed the location, pool, and room. Walking distance to everything. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Room and bathroom were clean and nice - even with 4 of us in a room with 2 double beds, we were fine on space.

Mold in the bathroom on the grout and shower curtain.

Felt that we were treated differently due to our ethnicity. Lady at front desk was not very hospitable. Room was not as clean, found long hair in tub. Breakfast was over priced and not a lot of selection. We rather find a restaurant outside the hotel.

quiet with view of many church steeples. Very helpful staff in arranging tours and suggesting restaurants,

This is the 4th. time we have stayed at King Charles. We like it because everyone is so friendly and we are close to everything. Especially like the Lemon Drop Martini's that Richard the bar tender makes.

Great hotel in perfect location for walking all over Charleston

King Charles was the perfect Inn for us. Comfortable, cozy, friendly, and very clean. Location was perfect: restaurants were all less than a 5 minute walk, 2 blocks from the Market, three blocks to the carriages, and even closer to King Street shopping! We enjoyed their pub : relaxed atmosphere and a nice 4:3O RECEPTION and even COOKIES in the evening. Wonderful to park our car and never had to use it. The outdoor pool area is lovely. We will always remember the wonderful time we had at the King Charles!

Staff was great Location perfect Rooms were clean and spacious Common area, warm, friendly, loved the fireplace. Would definitely stay there again

We stayed in the King Charles inn for a late Valentine's Day trip. The staff at the front desk was wonderful, very helpful with suggestions of places to go and showing them to us on a map. The room was nice, could use a little updating for the avg cost per night. Overall we had a great time and can't wait to revisit Charleston again soon!!

Had a great trip over this past July 4th weekend. The hotel was easy to find, and checking in was no problem. This was our first time to Charleston and the hotel staff were very helpful pointing out things to do and restaurants to visit. Overall, the hotel was clean and super convenient to all of the tourist spots. We enjoyed the hotel bar and pool. The price of the hotel was my only complaint, but due to the limited supply in the tourist area, and the fact it was 4th of July weekend, it was understandable. overall, it was a great place to stay for a long weekend.

This hotel has the ability to be a very nice hotel but it fell short in a few areas. When I got to the room there was no channel changer. There was no guide to the TV channels. The garbage was not emptied after the first night. Dirty towels were not replaced with clean ones. It has a good location and the staff was fine but the attention to detail was lacking.

The hotel is lovely, the location is good and the staff was friendly, but the absence of robes. ...poor channel variety, non-functional WiFi and refrigerator PLUS no room service will not allow me to recommend this least, not for the price.
