Staff was friendly, location was convenient. Smelled like mildew!
Just fine- could hear people going up and down the stairs.
Old rickety hotel.
Room itself was fine, no problems. The odd thing is I understood that the room fee was to be charged on check-in. In fact, they billed my bank card 10 days before my stay, *almost* causing a $25 overdraft fee (if I hadn't to have just happened to deposit that day). Not sure what that was about... I would have been P.O.'d.
We booked three nights. Floor lamp had no bulb in it. No housekeeping next day. Bed not made, no clean towels, trash not emptied. The following day the previous was taken care of except for lamp. Box spring and mattress stained and should have been replaced before renting to guests. Both stairwells haven't been vacuumed in a very long time. Trash laying around exterior. Windows in lobby and eating area were filthy. Trash in eating area not emptied until next day. Poor selection of breakfast choices. Communication in English was a great problem.
the towels were inferior - thin, scratchy and had a yellow tinge .... the air conditioner submitted a terrible smell and it was noisy ... the hotel staff spoke very broken English and was difficult to understand but otherwise helpful ... breakfast was not appetizing .. room was not very clean, hadn't been recently dusted
Satisfactory
We went to Farmer City because it was the closest hotel to Clinton Lake, this was a fishing trip. The room was overall unclean. The toilet was dirty, the bathtub backed up the furniture was dusty, linens didn't fit the bed. I had to ask for towels, toiletries and for the room to be vaccumed daily. I was told by housing keeping staff, due to the fact that we were staying over they didn't do daily cleaning. I replied that we were paying a daily rate and should receive daily service. NO one ever came to repair the tub as was promised by person at desk. I didn't expect luxury accommodations, but I did expect to come into a clean room and sleep in a bed that I didn't have to get up through the night to continue to put the sheets back on the bed, nor did I expect to have to clean the bathtub up nightly in order to use it. We are very disappointed in the quality and sevice we received, especially in such an economically deprived time.
this compared very poorly with other places we have stayed, very nice person at the desk, that is about all the postive feedback I have.
OK hotel, not very clean. Room smelled bad, was dusty and old chipping paint. Nice sized room with fridge and microwave in room, which was very nice.
hotel staff was very nice--they are currently upgrading and remodeling--nice family restaurant across the way--really not much to do in the area except go to see the fighting illini--would recommend as an overnite stay--only 2 problems--the shower took awhile to figure out and all the appliances--micro fridge and clock were hooked up to a light switch--you turn off the switch and they all go off--found that odd--but i do recommend because of the nice people who run it and it was very clean and quiet--and after an illini tailgate that is much appreciated!!
