Stayed here for 1 night part of a road trip through Slovakia. The hotel is removed from the center Good: Comfortable beds and clean bathroom Kettle Fridge Overall condition of hotel Outside parking free (dedicated lot for the hotel. Casino onsite Could be better Opening hour of pool (12:00 on Saturday) Kids can only be at the pool until 6pm Breakfast (no cooking station), too much of local food, not my preference Value for money - ~100€ which I felt was more than i got for the stay. Tips: There is a nearby Lidl. In the garage there are some vintage cars worth seeing if you’re into to that.
We stayed at this hotel for a wellness weekend with half-board with my girlfriend. This wasnt our #1 choice, but since we decided too late it was the best available for the given time. The hotel itself is really nice, quite new and modern. Loved the salt-water aquarium with the corals and all the beautiful reef fish in the lobby. The staff were very friendly and check-in, check-out and some requests from our side were handled very promptly and professionally. We liked the thai massages at their massage centre. There are also about 20 veteran Skoda's parked in the garage which is a nice addition to the stay. The rooms are modern, very clean and well equipped. There were only two downsides for which i cannot rate it a 5* stay. One was the warmth of the food. It was good quality and a good variety to choose from, but I dont understand why the hotel staff isnt able to have the food kept warm? Eating cold food which isnt meant to be cold is weird and disappointing. Breakfast was even better in terms of variety, but the same thing with eggs and sausages all cold. The other thing that isnt handled well is the wellness area. What I mean by that is that for a hotel with about 150+ rooms (potentially about 300 guests) with a small 10x5 m pool and a jacuzzi for 8 people and about 15 lying chairs should be managed better capacity-wise. We were recommended to book a time to make sure it wouldnt be crowded. So we did there, no one was booked for that time. We come on time and the receptions we took the reservation 1.5h earlier asks us if we have a reservation... She finds it eventually lets us in and the place is hopelessly filled with people. All lying chairs are full or at least occupied, a family of 6 is sitting in the jacuzzi for two hours. Then of course more people were let in that didnt have even a place to sit down and everyone was watching out who will depart so that they could lie down. It wasnt too bad though, but a bit of capacity management, saying max 20 people at once for 60 minutes and then once someone leaves letting in new people would do the job. All in all a very friendly, well situated hotel, with nice rooms and decor, good food (when warm maybe great) and a bit smallish but decent wellness area with a nice view. All in all a recommended stay.
This hotel was sold out the days we wanted to stay, the hotel we finally chose was not so good at anything. Therefore I can only report on the breakfast, they have two coffee machines that make a great cappuccino or espresso. We wanted our eggs cooked a specific way and two mornings in a row they were perfect. Our biggest challenge was paying the bill, it would have been easy to take advantage which I would never do. As a location the only complaint I would have, the cigarette smoke from the sealed off smoking area permeates the lobby. This seems to be a problem in the entire region we were in, I am used to counties where smoking is not permitted in many places.
Really? I'm sorry for the people that are working in those circumstances. The salary is not enough friendly, the restaurant in the evening is always empty with no waitresses, they come maybe once in half hour to check if someone is there.. and the hotel is expensive. 89€ without a breakfast and 99€ with a breakfast!!! Also the heads of the hotel are really not welcoming.. I've met them there. This place should be inviting as other Holidays Inn in the world!
Was lucky to get an upgrade to an executive room. Great room and bedding. The only downside is the very limited range of amenities in the bathroom: only soap dispenser available -please have shampoo at least. Bathrobes would be a good addition, too. Breakfast ok.
I recently stayed here 16-25 June 2017 and it was a most memorable and pleasant experience! Everything about this hotel is worth mentioning: accommodations, front desk staff, management, restaurants, food and proximity to city center. I travel internationally as part of my job - this is a truly joyful place to stay!! I highly-recommend it to everyone planning a trip to Žilina.
the room was clean, breakfast very good, the pool with saunas on the top floor is absolutely great idea, the only drawback was that the air conditioning was noisy and I was not able to turn it off, only when opening windows, but then you can hear more trains, but not so bad on higher floors close to city center and train station
Clean hotel and comfortable rooms. Bar and Restaurant are good for fast or normal dinner. With a large opened hours. Not recommended the fish. My colleague and me eated, and we had not a comfortable night. Do not drink the orange juice in the breakfast. And the yogurt was closed to be expired, but was good. And you have a large selection. Do not worry if you find Korean symbols, it is Kia hotel. It is recommended
Three nights stay. Staff extremely helpfull. Excellent communication, while settling. In the bar one of the best coffees I have ever had, however the Davidoff trademark evokes tabacco instead of heatlhy lifestyle. Breakfast first morning reduced due to Food & Beverage weekend. Rest of the stay o.k. I enjoyed food prepared on this event, accordingly atmosphere. Supper tasty, I would add more vegetable in my Caesar salad. It was also given me an opportunity to speak with general manager of the hotel. Mr. Deon Linde reminded me the reason why I came to Žilina. And finally the last day watched the championship on the big screen in the bar. I never felt more relaxed.
This is very good hotel with the main benefits for me: close to figure skating stadium (3 min walk), main square 7-10 min walk , clean room (towels looked like might be cleaner), bar with zlaty bazan :), casino , most of the stuff friendly , amazing sauna +steam sauna + kupel(Russian style bath with cold water ), pool with nice view. Reasonable breakfast (cups might be cleaned a bit better). For me this beautiful wellness should work from early morning , I am business person , work hard hard and can't arrive earlier then 21.00 and planed to visit sauna early morning , it's starts from 14.00!!! Towels for 1 euro a bit unfair (though you will got sheet for free). However , great experience and great hotel!
