The location of the hotel is indeed very bad, full of refugees (I think) that don't look very friendly...but it is close to the city center (10 minutes max walking). The rooms are not luxurious, but are well maintained for a rather old building. The bathrooms though are very clean and modern. Personally I liked the feeling of staying in an authentic catanese building, with small modern improvements. I loved the breakfast: fruits, a selection of cheese, salami and ham, and fresh croissants and baked goodies that were delicious. Not a great variety, but at least what they served was indeed good. The staff was friendly and helpful. For a 3 nights stay was more than enough, we had a great time there!
The hotel is ok-ish but I wouldn't recomend it. Bad positioning, it's placed in a bad neighbourhood, not very friendly, but it's quiet. I wouldn't reccomend going out alone after 22 at night. Rooms are ok, clean and simple, standard bed, a table and a minibar. It depends on the room you get, I would recomend room 302, not the room I had, but my friend's one. Mine was 205 and I would not recomend it. Even though we both payed for a superiour room his room had a kitchen and a large balcony with a table and chairs. I believe mine was standard. Also there was a constant noise, don't know exactly where it came from but when I turned on the hot water it got louder. The food was very good and the guy at the front desk was nice and helped us getting around and told us how to get to the beach. Overall it was ok because we didn't stay much in our rooms but I wouldn't go here again.
The Hotel is nice and very central in Catania - just 5 min to train and central bus station and about 10 min to the city center. The rooms are nice with very high ceilings and they offer a good breakfast to start the day.
I stayed here with a team of students from the US in late July. Rooms were huge and clean and very nice. Bathrooms great. The air conditioning in our room blew very cold which was nice - Catania is hot in July, although one of our group said their air conditioning didn't work that great. Breakfast served in the morning is fantastic. Nice and close to city center. Wifi is a little spotty. Some of have complained about the area that the property was in. Our local friend said to stay in after dark but also said he totally felt fine walking around after dark - subtle but important difference between being local and visiting. We did see some undesirable things one evening but it was very late at night - like after midnight. But overall, I would do it again.
We were a bit worried when we arrived in the evening. The neighborhood was scary and we were thinking we should find somewhere else the next morning. However when we saw the room we were pleasantly surprised. A dining table, a kitchen equipped with a hot plate, dishes and utensils made me feel at home. The hotel was quiet and clean. The price included breakfast which was modest but plentiful. The staff was helpful though a bit inefficient. I would recommend this hotel but not for a single woman who wants to come home late by herself.
Located in a pretty quiet area, so not a lot of noise at night. The rooms were very big and clean with a nice bathroom and a fully stocked minibar. Prices were good. Friendly and helpful staff. Reception closed at night, but we were provided a key to the front door so we could get in at any time. Free, fast Wi-Fi in the rooms. Not the most beautiful area to say the least, but the city center is within walking distance, and so is the train station. No complaints at all!
The hotel is excellent! Clean, tidy and just really greatly decorated. The location is great, as it is just two corners away from the bus station and 10 mins walk from the city central. Oh and before I miss it!! The breakfast was NO1 - thank you for it!
I really don't like writing negative reviews but do not stay here. We were booked for two nights but ended up leaving after the first night and losing the money we paid for the second night. The hotel is located in a pretty scary area...very run down area of Catania. So much so that I was not comfortable venturing out at night. Tried to have a shower twice..once at night and once in the morning and couldn't as we had no hot water. I advise staying in a more central location in Catania where you can venture out freely at night.
We stayed in this hotel for two nights on our visit in Catania. When we checked in, we met a very pleasant and efficient receptionist. Hevalso helped us to booke a guided tour to Etna the day after. Our room was HUGE and the bathroom was also huge. It was clean and comfortable. The hotel is close to bus and train station, only 5 min walk. It is a bit further away from the center, about 10-15 min walk. Situated in a slightly worn area but we did not experience any scary situations. But i would not have felt safe by going there at night. Overall a great hotel, with very friendly staff and comfortable rooms.
We stayed few night in this hotel in april. Very friendly and polite staff! We loved the place! Clean and large room, very nice interior decoration, silence during the night, very close to the bus station and also close to the city centre.
