We stay there for 2 nights. The way to get there was not easy very narrow road. The hotel was very fun to look around. There are several rooms that have story in it. Very meaningful in the way they present. Some rooms are too much to stay. But some are so cozy. Breakfast was nice. Staffs are willing to serve. We love it

This place is a joke, and not a cheap one at that. The iDisk ratiocination art work only serves to camouflage the the inadequate structural shortcomings. The plumbing was awry with the settings back to front and no hot water. One of the room was deliberately dark with a token standard lamp in the main area, and one light in the bathroom. T he balcony was useless in the evening as it did not have any operating lights. This, however, pales into insignificance when compared with the decision taken by the hotel to pack up all our belongings and move us to another room without any notification, blaming the misunderstanding on a mistake. In fairness, they had the good grace not to charge us for our stay. Eternal visit? Barge poles come to mind. We

We arrived without a room, the only one left was the Black Tower. This was an unmissable experience which we will never forget. The revolving bed in the centre was very comfortable and huge..and the metal doors of the roof creak open at the press of a button, so you are open to the sky. Memories: looking up at the beautiful texture on the black concrete walls, seeing how the light caught it at different times of day...watching the clouds float by and hearing the sounds of the sea float in. Gazing up at twinkling stars while gentle breezes cooled us. Lying by myself and singing, while I pushed myself round by my bare feet on the walls; amazing acoustics. Lying together in the morning, silently watching the white clouds drift by, and losing all sense of time. Friendly helpful staff, gorgeous breakfast in covered area on the beach, wonderful restaurants right next door...beach in front of you, waves breaking over beautiful's all good.

1. A very unique hotel……… many of the rooms are “works of Art” 2. The staff were OK but not overly friendly [is this the Sicilian way?] 3. I was shown a room with no electricity [yes no electricity], it had a golden bed in the middle of the room and no pillows that I could see. 4. We were offered another room in which the huge oval bed with a wall around it took up 80% of the room. To get on the bed was through a small gap in the wall. 5. I am not sure if they change the duvet every day but it had no cover on it and the bed sheet did not cover the huge bed, hygienic? 6. The rain shower in the small bathroom sprayed water over the room and the toilet, so you got a wet bum when you sat on the loo. 7. There was a WiFi signal in the room but the internet was blocked……. Reason given “ you want peace and quiet” Wake up get MODERN! 8. No TV of course..........nice sea view from balcony....... but no where to sit! 9. Breakfast was included but very basic and you had to sit on uncomfortable art chairs. 10. Would I go back……..NEVER

It is a little difficult to rate this hotel. As a hotel only it is average due to missing comfort, but as an art/museum hotel it is very good. The hotel is very particular and as a guest you have to be a little prepared to this experience. Do not forget to spent time walking around inside the hotel. It is decorated in a very special way and there are so many pieces of art, some are beautiful, some are funny. We stayed at the Stanza della Pittura overlooking the sea and the quite beach. The shower was very particular: a lot of copper pipes with holes here and there. Quite funny having a shower, but on the third day I was missing a normal shower. Breakfast was served on the very nice terrace on the beachfront, but the food was not good unless you like pastries and cakes. A cold counter to keep yoghurts, cheese, ham etc fresh instead of warm and "melted" would be a good idea. The staff is very kind and service-minded. Our mattress was very, very hard, but they arrange for a mattress topper and whenever we have questions about how or where to go, they always answered with a smile. I recommend this hotel if you want to experience something completely different.

As part of a tour of Sicily my partner and I stayed here for 2 nights and it was unbelievable. As an artist I was really excited to be able to 'live' in someone else's work. Although reviews are mixed note that this is a special place, it is a museum first and a hotel second but that does not mean that the hospitality suffers. We were shown around rooms before choosing 'the shadow line', a room based on the ocean with a window facing the sea. Listening to the waves as we slept within the art-room was beautiful, we will probably have another experience like it. Situated in a quiet stretch of the north coast it's a little escape from business of other coastal areas. If you stay be open to the idea of art, it is not a 'normal' hotel so it's not comparable to anything else. Breakfast was plentiful, a buffet style in the seafront restaurant with typical homemade Sicilian pastries and cakes (delicious!), fresh fruit, cereal, tea, coffee etc. There's classical music playing too and sofa seats to lounge on in the table area facing the sea, very romantic. Staff are extremely helpful and informative, I would highly recommend to art enthusiasts or those looking to seek something different. Only 25 mins in train for day trip to Cefalu too if would like to see more business, best of both worlds!

Like you could expect: this is an Art Hotel.they have some exhibition rooms and photos, paintings and insallations everywhere. We had a standard double room with nice furniture and a lot of framed pictures. Apart of that it was clean but a little dark. The Breakfast area outside is very relaxing to sit at. But the food was mediocre. Recommended!

The staff were all so kind and inviting. The hotel is just incredible, it's so hard to explain in words. If you travel to Sicily, the you have to go to this eye opening, heart warming magical place that offers more than a hotel. The art rooms inspire you to look within and connect with yourself. It's right by the beach, with so many creative rooms overlooking the sea. I recommend everyone who loves life and exploration and fun and light, to definitely stay here!

It's my second time to Sicily and i enjoy the time travelling this island immensely my stay at this unique Artistic Museum Hotel was so enjoyable. It is a very different and relaxing experience and i really found it inspiring, great beach with clear water it was stunning. We arrived very late and were greeted with warmth everyone was very friendly and helpful and dedicated to the history of the art that can be experienced. Situated on the middle of the north coast to experience visiting all this half of the island has to offer there is so much to do and see.

We wanted rooms with balconies, and I thought the art rooms would have MORE amenities, not fewer. Instead, the rooms were uncomfortable (worst bed on a six week vacation in Italy). Upon our arrival, we toured the art rooms--most of them, anyway--and ended up choosing the ones we had already requested. Both rooms (we were traveling with our daughter and her husband) had balconies, as requested, but the rooms themselves were hot, cramped, with no space in the bathroom for toiletries. This place has chosen to sacrifice their guests' comfort in order to claim artistic uniqueness. Unique, yes, but we would never stay here again. As far as the staff goes, some were friendly, some were quite chilly--especially the people attending to the breakfast buffet.
