The hotel is a nice the area interesting.

Check in was interesting. The staff speaks no English. After the challenge of confirming my reservation, the staff and accommodations were good. The surrounding area is a little sketchy but the hotel felt safe and the amenities were good. It''s a $5 US cab ride to the walled city & La Boquilla beach,. $10 to the New City & Beach.

Nice hotel too bad about the barrio

The small hotel itself is good. The nice lady makes you a good breakfast of eggs, bread, coffe and fresh juice. The room was nice and the bed comfortable. Columbian style shower (cold and lacking pressure). Someone dropped the ball and I didn't get picked up at the airport. Its VERY difficult to locate the hotel the first time (locals dont know where it is; better and or larger sign would be nice) so make sure of an airport pick up. The drawback to the property is the barrio its in. Its on a dusty lane way and at night the cab didnt want to go down it ... something about rateros (people not the rodents). The barrio is okay in the day time but I wouldnt want to wander around at night. Its unfortunate because overall its a nice hotel if your prepared for the barrio. The small pool area is charming. Nothing in the immediate area for restaurants.

Beautiful, comfortable Guesthouse

I was pleasantly surprised by Hotel Casa el Mangle. First off, it was close to the airport which made arriving a breeze. This upscale guesthouse has an uplifting atmosphere, is well furnished and nicely decorated. It has bright, clean rooms and a really nice swimming pool. The manager went out of his way to assist me and helped me arrange for the transport I needed from Cartagena to Santa Marta. The woman who cleans and cooks made me an amazing breakfast mere moments after I walked in the door. I consider the breakfast to be exceptional and much better than most places. I spoke to the owner on the phone, and although I had arrived early, they quickly prepared a room for me. That was very much appreciated as I was exhausted from my travels. I consider this place to be a hidden gem, and it is very good value for the price. It is a nice place to rest and unwind and, even though it is a little outside the main action, still makes for a good base to explore Cartagena.

Pasable.

La atención es excelente, muy gentil, comedida y agradable. Aunque la casa no es nueva, las instalaciones enngeneral son buenas y la limpieza excelente. No me agradó, que sale casi agua por la ducha y más cuando varios huéspedes toman la ducha al mismo tiempo. De noche puede ser peligroso en las cercanías hacia la Boquilla.
