We stayed one night on our trip around Ireland. We were the only guests on that particular night. Glencarrig is so peaceful - you are literally out in the country, with cows for neighbors. It is so beautiful, serene and has beautiful views of the Shannon. We loved our hostess, Mary. She found out that we were "McMahan" and was excited to share local history about the area for us. She gave us excellent recommendations for driving around County Clare - especially to focus on Loop Head Peninsula and skip Cliffs of Moher. We did just that - and we don't regret it at all. Going to less-touristy areas really gives you a feel for Ireland and the natural beauty of the scenery and it's people. Mary is an outstanding cook - breakfast omelets were delicious, as well as the homemade breads and jams. And...she packed a sweet treat for us to have later in the day. Thank you Mary - our visit was memorable!

Owners are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are fine as well. If you get one with a view to the sea, even better. The pool table in the guest room is a nice touch! Nearby Carrigaholt has some lovely pubs and restaurants which are open all year.

The best way to spend our Christmas holidays was to go back to Carrigaholt and Rahona to Luke and Mary Aston’s warm and wonderful guesthouse ❤️Their hospitality is amazing and for me it is the best B&B I have ever been !the breakfast with granola and selfmade delicious jams ist simply wonderful! The house is beautiful and the view from your room overlooking the sea and Kilcredaun Lighthouse is amazing. We stayed for more than a week and I am a regular for many years now and I hope to be back soon . Thank you for such a pleasant stay

Wonderful place, the best accommodation, great food, the warmest welcome, breath taking scenery, lovely village near by...... not enough adjectives to do Glencarrig justice ! Luke and Mary are the icing on this very special cake. I can't wait to come back again and again

Warm, well aired modern room. Really comfortable queen sized bed. Bed linens were clean and fresh. Good strong shower and fluffy towels. Breakfast, great choice of cooked options tasty and well presented. Lovely homemade rubarb jam. We decided to walk into Carrigaholt as it was a nice evening and Mary, the lady of the house, went above and beyond the call of duty by collecting us from the village after we had a great meal and a few glasses of wine in the local seafood restaurant. I would recommend this place to friends if they were visiting and it is a ideal base for exploring this part of the wild atlantic way.

Mary, the owner, was delightful and very helpful. Our room looked out on the water and the family's cow pasture. We enjoyed tea and cake on the patio after returning from a drive to Loop Head Lighthouse. We enjoyed dinner at Long Dock in Carrigaholt and returned to sleep-off our jet lag. Breakfast was excellent and the company of other guests was as well. Our only regret is that our flight delayed our arrival and we could only spend one night at this outstanding B&B.

We spent two nights in this nice Bed & Breakfast. We loved the very friendly welcome, the peace & quiet and the lovely view from our bedroom window Breakfast was delicious with a lot of homemade ingredients and a big smile to start the day. A good base to visit Loop Head and a very good restaurant in the village

Mary couldn't do enough for us room was spotless, bed lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was great especially starter. Views are so lovely, peaceful and relaxing. Really enjoyed our stay will definitely be back.

Definitely recommend this lovely place! Very calm and relaxing and owned by such nice people. We stayed one night and got a great breakfast and wonderful recommendations on what places to visit near by.

Mary and Luke are two of the most helpful people you could hope to meet there efforts go beyond all expectations (even sourcing some engine cleaner for one chap). We were on a fishing trip Luke is the skipper of the boat (very knowledgable and experienced) and Mary looks after the b&b whilst also cooking tremendous meals. There is a comfortable residents lounge and also a pool table for relaxing after a day fishing.
