Weekend in Carcassonne

We really enjoyed the views across the historic medieval city and being able to see them sat out on the balcony. Our host was very welcoming and we would be happy to return on another trip.

Just the perfect place p

It is the perfect place for a holiday. Lovely hosts ,perfect view of the castle and mountains, peaceful garden five minutes drive to city center. I recommend it. 5 star.

A quiet hideaway with a view!

A warm welcome from Armand, with the added touch of flowers & wine. The apartment was a little old fashioned but the view from the verandah towards the Cite was fabulous and certainly made the stay special. However do beware that you are likely to get bitten by mosquitoes. You cannot get to the canal, despite it being below the house, as it is too overgrown. You can walk into the city but its at least a kilometre from the house along rue Achille Rouquet to Rue Buffon and then downhill towards the station, however after a long day exploring the city it is a long slog back. We would recommend using the underground parking at Gambetta, safe, secure, clean & reasonably cheap. There is a number of hypermarkets close, by car and a boulangerie at the end of rue Achille Rouquet.

Early trip to Carcassonne.

This was our third holiday in Carcassonne, and our second in this property. As last time the accommodation was clean and well presented. The property is within walking distance of the city center (just), and railway station, but a car would be beneficial (you can hire one opposite the airport) as there are several large hypermarkets close by and lots of attractions outside the city. We'll definitely be returning next year, I'm missing the amazing view of the city and mountains already.

Great host

We really enjoyed our stay in Carcassonne. We read all the reviews, some of which included the fact that a car was essential. We love to walk, which was just as well. Because of this, we didn’t miss being able to drive around the area.. We did hire bikes though, so we were still able to travel further afield. One of the main reasons we loved our trip, was Armand. What a lovely guy. He couldn’t do enough for us and for that reason we would love to return.

Nice enough but could use some updating, but one gets what they pay for. Armand was very nice.

Nice view of the castle. A lot of space. The bed was comfortable, really need more pillow cases. We had trouble getting internet service. We had to lean outside the bannister. That is tough when relying on the internet for travel information etc. Some of the appliances were old and dysfunctional.

Fantastic cosy apartment, well appointed

We originally booked to stay here in April 2020 so we were delighted to finally get to come. Myself and my mother who has some mobility issues. The apartment is so lovely, Armand the host was really friendly and welcoming. The place has everything you need. It was quite cold during our stay so the extra blankets were useful. The views are breathtaking. You need a car and there are lots of places not too far away to visit. It is not possible to walk along the canal from the apartment but we found nice flat walks a short drive away Thank you for a fantastic stat and lovely wine and jam

Quiet well equipped appartement with wonderful views of the old city.

The appartement is very spacious with everything we required for our ten night stay . A car is essential, with hypermarkets and the city centre a short drive away (we walked to the city most days). The views from the balcony was amazing, with the medieval city and the hills behind it. The host was most charming and always helpful, even leaving a bottle of wine when we arrived.

Lovely location with nice views of the city. Monsieur Asquini looked after us from the moment we got there. Lovely traditional apartment with everything we needed and more, even a bottle of wine in the fridge!! Quiet, rural and hilly area so maybe not suitable for the less mobile. We will definitely return. We cannot recommend this accommodation and host enough. Merci beaucoup, Charlie and Emma xx

Beautiful spacious great for young children

Fabulous accommodation with unparalleled view of the medieval city. Our host made us feel welcome and was altogether charming. Spacious with gorgeous balconies. Private and quiet. Beautiful large garden where our young children loved to play. Pleasant walk along the canal into the town. Bus connections to Lac de Cavayère and Parc Australien not far away. I would love to come back...

Great views. Quiet, character and charm more than luxury.

Definitely not a Ramada or Holiday Inn. Not luxurious but really lovely setting with good kitchen, dining, living rooms and 2 decent bedrooms (smallish beds). Great views towards the medieval city. Quiet, secluded country feel just adjacent to city suburbs. No services or restaurants within walking distance. Expect to drive to get anywhere. Located just off the city ring road. Modern hyper-market just 1 km down the road. Access road very narrow and hard to find. Bring your GPS. I would return and would recommend as a base for automobile touring of the region. Hosts were lovely, helpful and welcoming. Kitchen well equipped for cooking and eating.

Ein Rückblick mit sehr guter Erinnerung

Tolle Ferienwohnung, groß und mit Charakter. Alles da was man sich wünscht und braucht. Besonders angenehm der sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Vermieter. Unser Aufenthalt war klasse. Besonders gefällt auch der Balkon mit Ausblick auf die etwas entfernte Cite.

Appartement conforme aux photos de l'annonce. Très bien équipé. Calme car hors de la ville. Vue imprenable sur la Cité d'où nous avons pu admirer le feu d'artifice du 14 juillet sans les embouteillages. Propriétaire sympathique, serviable si besoin mais très discrèt. Merci à lui. Coin super, entouré de jolie jardins et nature. Nous avons passé beaucoup d’heures sur la terras avec un verre en écoutant les oiseaux et regardant la vue. Chaque matin nous avons mangé du pain et des croissants du boulanger (seulement 15 min à pieds). L’appartement a tout les appareils pour rendre la vie facile et le propriétaire est très disponible. Nous avons eux la chance de séjourner dans se jolie appartement avec une vue imprenable sur la cité. Très belle appartements fonctionnelle spacieux,tous confort. Il ne manquait rien du linge de lit et de toilette fournie plus des petites attentions. Nous avons été accueillis par Monsieur Asquini propriétaire des lieux . Monsieur très gentil. Nous étions au calme sans être loin du centre ville. Nous y reviendrons c'est sûr. Je recommande vivement cette location.
