The Westin Cape Town

We stayed there for two nights and it was best in class on all levels. Rooms, peopl, everything.

I have stayed here many times, and as always, it was a great stay again. Got upgraded to an executive floor with great views over the harbour. Love this hotel.

This hotel is most definitely NOT a 4 star hotel, but a proper 5 STAR hotel. It has awesome amenities, is NOT showing it's age and staff were incredibly friendly. It's the ONLY hotel I stay in in Cape Town. Highly recommended.

The Westin Cape Town is a big, modern, and somewhat impersonal hotel located directly across from the Convention Center. I spent five nights; my trip was purely vacation. Positives: Rooms are spacious, modern, and comfortable. Great city views (but no balconies). Free wireless internet is fast and reliable. Included breakfast is exceptional - among the best I've ever had (the buffet even offers hot items such as pancakes and omelets). Location is great: only a 15-minute walk from the V&A Waterfront (Robben Island Museum); only a 15-minute walk to Long Street restaurants and bars. Hotel also offers a free shuttle to the V&A Waterfront; leaves every 30 minutes for most of the day. Hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. 19th floor spa is fantastic (despite a disappointing jacuzzi); great views of city. Negatives: Hotel has an impersonal feel, especially when there's a convention in town (hotel can got extremely crowded - there were two conventions at the time). In-room mini-bar automatically charges items even if you just move them around within the refrigerator - this gives a real "big brother" feel, which I resented (hotel staff later reversed the charges, which I appreciated). Jacuzzi was never hot, and on 2 of the 5 nights wasn't even remotely warm - spa staff seemed unconcerned with this. In-room TV was under-sized, and the channel selection mechanism is clunky and unreliable. Not a cheap hotel - Cape Town is an expensive city, but there are many cheaper options offering close to the same amenities. Overall, however, the Westin offers a lot, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff overcame the hotel's shortcomings... though I would have preferred a consistently hot (at least warm) jacuzzi and an "non-monitored" mini-bar.

Awesome place to stay at in Cape Town. The staff is friendly, the gym is great, the rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the breakfast is amazing!

There were nice robes and slippers in the room. The beds were comfortable. I use the gym- it was great considering it was in a hotel- clean and with towels, and you can even rent sneakers pretty inexpensively during your stay. There's a great view up there too! The breakfast was great every day. There isn't really much to do in the area, but sine there is a shuttle that takes you to the waterfront every half hour, it doesn't even matter. The staff was incredible- so friendly and accommodating. It felt like they went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I used the travel desk to book all of my excursions for the Townships, Sharks, Cape Point and Vineyards, and asking for recommendations for restaurants- they had great suggestions. You really can't beat this hotel for the price!!

Here are the good points: Location. It is right next to the convention center. Room on the Executive Floor. The room itself is four star quality but mine did not have floor to ceiling windows as advertised, there is a great breakfast served in a room on the executive floor but after breakfast this room becomes a restaurant for the public. In other hotels where you stay on an executive or club floor there is a room where you can lounge during the day and have cocktails in the evening, not so here, however knowing that I would stay on the executive floor again. Complementary wifi. Other hotels in Cape Town charge an extraordinary fee for wifi access so this is a definite plus. Service: courteous and never ending, I needed an electrical plug adapter and the front clerk personally a brought one to my room immediately. Food costs for eating and drinks in the hotel were very reasonable. Across the street from the "hop on hop off" bus which has two routes and will take you to every sight in the area. Not so good points Location. It is next to the convention center but nothing else. You are not in the center of an area where everything is at your doorstep. However, thy do have a shuttle bus which will take you to and bring you back from the waterfront. The waterfront is a thriving area full of shops, restaurants, bars and shopping. I very much enjoyed staying at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone coming to Cape Town,

The staff at the Westin was first class! We were there for six nights. From our welcome in the lobby to the wonderful daily breakfast everything was on point. The complimentary breakfast is a great way to start every morning before we headed out on our adventures for the day. Shuttle to VA waterfront made getting around easy. The spa on 19th floor was excellent. We would recommend and stay again.

We spent 13 nights at the Westin Cape Town for conference and vacation combined. The hotel was very nice. The buffet breakfast was amazing - everything you could imagine for many different cultures. I counted 17 different juices and smoothies available as well as sushi (!) for breakfast options. Just before we left, the housekeeping staff mistakenly took some wineglasses we got at a winetasting event. We mentioned it to the concierge and just received an email that they had found them and will send them to us! That's service! They were friendly, helpful and polite. They have earned their stars.

The hotel is located very close to the V&A Waterfront, with a free shuttle to the waterfront. It also has a stop on the CitySightseeing bus hop-on-hop-off tours, which adds to its convenience. The staff was very nice, the room was very clean, and I was very impressed.

My mother and I stayed at the Westin for six nights in Cape Town and it was perfect. The luxury of the hotel amenities is second to none. The best part of this hotel, however was the staff, who couldn't have been friendlier. Also, the breakfast was fit for royalty with offerings from all over the world. I will recommend this hotel to all those visiting Cape Town. The only negative is that it is not quite as easy to walk to the waterfront as I thought it would be, but that really didn't matter.... every other aspect made up for it! Also if visiting the cape, make sure to go on a Township tour..... it changed my life.

Great hotel and location. Best breakfast ever. Staff could not have been more helpful. Guest services helped us daily with tour descriptions and bookings and restaurant bookings and recommendations. Only complaint was size of hotel pool, However view from 19th floor of Table Mountain was gorgeous.

Thank goodness for the wonderful staff at the Westin. We picked up food poisoning somewhere in CapeTown. Fortunately we had a very comfortable room. The staff went out of their way to ensure that we stayed comfortable, hydrated, and fed, even making a special chicken noodle soup especially for us and bringing us (free) bottled water by the case. While the food poisoning was horrible (not their fault), they made it bearable. We loved the location too.

I was at a seminar at the CTICC. The hotel is new and architecturally interesting. The rooms are spagnola and the service accurate.

We stayed for 3 nights during the very busy World Cup Period. Although Hotel was full, we found Staff to be very Helpful and Accomadating. The Hotel's Location is absolutly perfect, right between Waterfront and Downtown, everything was accessable by foot (Max. 5 min walk)..... In short - "I'll be Back:)"

The service at the hotel was outstanding. Lots of helpful hints and great suggestions. Wonderful locations to purchase Tanzanite and other native South African specialties.

Profesional staff; excellent breakfast; very good service, friendly and willing to help. Close to waterfront: within walking distance and the hotel also has a free shuttle back and forth.

The concierge desk is the best I've seen, and I have stayed in hotels all over the world. Our trip around the Cape of Good Hope was made possible by the concierge. He assured us we could manage it with a rental car and we were happy we took his advice. We were there during the Cape Town Argus bicycle tour and check-in and check-out was smooth even though the hotel was full.

Only problem was how the clean up crew tossed out two marked wine corks (at the bottle!)
