Motel was spotless and in a great location. The cleaning people were thorough and friendly. The view from our room was amazing and they also have a sundeck on the second floor. Great clean Motel which I would recommend to friends, clients and family.

Looking at the pictures of the hotel on the internet makes it look like a nice place to visit. When checking in I was handed a key to the room which, to me, is an indicator that the motel has not been updated. When heading to the room you have to pass people sitting outside their room or pool side smoking. For non-smokers, not so nice. When entering the room there was a smell of cleaning chemicals. The room was clean and the bathroom looks like it was recently renovated. Then everything went downhill. For the price of the room it was lacking essentials like shampoo, hand cream, etc. I went to the front desk and asked and was told the motel does not supply those items. Of course we had to purchase shampoo from a local drug store. Also, it was lacking a coffee maker. These items have been automatically supplied in any hotel I have visited in the last 10 years. As I stated, the room smelled clean until the air conditioner kicked in - then we would get a slight mildew smell. There was so much wrong with this room for the price we paid. The towels were slightly above Motel 6 towels in thickness. The shower head is non-adjustable and no exhaust fan in the bathroom. The TV was not high definition and a small screen. It did have plenty of channels to choose from. The motel is dated and has that 1950's feel to the rooms. I would not recommend this motel to anyone.

We booked this motel online for a 1 night stay. When we opened the door there was a musty, damp smell. I think it's the old carpet. I tried to put the air conditioner and it made it worse. There was an old crusty bed spread (disgusting). They were lacking basic amenities that all o0ther hotels/motels provide: There was no phone in the room (Their WiFi does not work) There was no shampoo, conditioner, lotion bottles - lacking basic amenities There was a coffee pot but no coffee, sugar, etc. We had to pay for beach access We were only there for 1 night and the mean blonde lady at the front desk would not allow my 3 year old to get in the pool for a few minutes after check out. She claimed "It's for insurance reasons" I have never heard of that ever. Mean Lady. I will definitely not be returning to this Motel ever again. I felt robbed. There was an envelop to tip the housekeeping staff. Really!!!

I have always given this hotel top reviews. I don't give out 5's because I feel any place has room for improvement. I do have to agree with another review about the smoking. If the windows are open than the smoke comes in the room. It would be nice to have a no smoking policy both in and out. We also wish they would put in more outlets for chargers. We unplug the light at the front window to put a power strip for our charges. This is an old fashion "mom and pop" motel.

A friend and I stayed here 3 nights the first week of September 2018. The good - the front desk staff was friendly, the bathroom/kitchenette/bedding/linens were very clean, kitchenette was well supplied with pots/pans/utensils/glasses/dishes/coffee pot, etc and in good working order, the pool and surroundings were clean, it's a great location for the the boardwalk and beach, quiet, had a 2nd floor view of the ocean, two outdoor showers with warm water and a clothesline to hang wet towels/suits. The bad, even though we had previewed a room on a prior visit to Cape May, we missed seeing the ashtrays perched on every windowsill, so the guests were sitting outside their rooms (and consequently, ours) smoking. The pool wasn't off-limits to smoking either so while enjoying a refreshing swim we were fogged-over with cigarette smoke from several of the guests sitting on the pool deck, smoking. Disgusting. The mold in our room was so bad that, upon entering each time, it smelled like my 4th grade camp cabin in the woods. My mold-allergic/asthmatic friend was sucking on her inhaler by the second morning and by the 3rd morning she woke up with her eyes swelling shut and itching. We would have had to check out if our stay had been any longer. Additionally, the pool hours are very limited - 10am-7pm. The ugly - window a/c units, they use bedspreads instead of an arrangement that can be laundered for each new guest, the blankets were crunchy, the floors were carpeted, which had to be growing the mold, and overall the room was dated. With a few changes, this could be a sweet place to stay, but not as is.

If you value cleanliness and excellent service, then you should visit this hotel. The whole facility was immaculate and super inviting. Our room was small but super clean. The service at the front desk was awesome, friendly and caring. The pool was beyond clean and very refreshing. Even the lawn/lounge chairs were spotless and very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel.

It’s a no frills, clean space right next to the beach and walking distance to shopping and great food for a high ticket price. The front office was very pleasant and helpful. The bed was comfortable. For this level of access to the beach, the nightly cost is about on par for Cape May. My only gripes were the the window air conditioner and the foot-to-knee level window. The low window wasn’t covered by the curtains at night - I like a dark room when I sleep, so I needed to problem solve around that. I didn’t mind the noise from window air conditioner since it was on the far side of the room and it was blowing directly on me. Since it sat near the secondary sink next to the bathroom, I needed to turn it off when I was brushing my teeth and shaving. Would I come back? Definitely.

First time staying and we were pleased at first sight. The room was spacious and very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom spotless. Nothing fancy, but a quiet night's sleep. The staff is friendly and it is right across the street from the beach. Just one note, there was no shampoo, but went to CVS, no biggie. It was a fun weekend.

Just came back from a weekend at the Mt. Vernon. This motel is extremely clean and the staff are very friendly. We had an efficiency room which had a nice size fridge, microwave, two comfortable queen size beds. We love to walk and we were directly across from the beach and about a 15 minute walk to the mall. We will definitely be back next year.

Nice clean local Jersey shore motel. Very friendly staff. Clean comfortable room. Right across the street from the ocean and close enough to the downtown area that there is no need to drive. Absolutely no trouble using the wifi. Easy check in and check out. Comfortable place to stay for a quick getaway.
