We stayed one night in this hotel as part of our tour package with EuHolidays Singapore. Its a rather small hotel that is directly opposite the train and bus station. We were given a room that is facing the station on the second level. It was alittle noisy in the night with the train still running but it was bearable. The toilet is small and dark. Nothing too fancy but functional. Room is small for 3 adults but still spacious enough for our luggage to be opened. Hotel is close to a few eateries and a minimart is also just next to the hotel which is really convenient. Breakfast for us was mediocre.
On the shores of Zurich lake and right at the door steps of Horgen station, we had a nice two night stay expeience here. The room was clean and tidy. Room size was okay and bathroom was good as well. They provide wifi for two devices only so it was a majot setback for us. With kids having iPads it was difficult to calm them. The breakfast didnt have much variety to offer, but overall good. P.S. Beware the church bells in the evening.
I had brunch with my wife. Food was not particularly fresh and the service was extemely slow. It also semt the waiter was particularu annoyed that day The place has very strange color in the decoration. I do not think of coming back
I will start with location of the hotel, bang opposite Horgen Lake & next to a super market. The drive itself to Hotel from Lucerne was amazing & scenic. The building & rooms are clean, spacious with all basic amenities. Lady at reception was very courteous & friendly. The rooms windows offer good views of lake Horgen. However it's also opposite train station & can be sometimes a bit noisy. Though, windows are soundproof. It was a bit hot the night we stayed & rooms doesn't have air conditioning. Luckily it was raining that day & they have a small fan which comes handy. The room also has Tea cattle which I didn't found much during my Europe trip. Just opposite to hotel is a Kebab shop which serves descent food. I managed to get couple of Vegetarian items as well. Supermarket next to hotel is good & reasonable. Hotel offers free coffee & tea to guests in hotel lobby. Nice collection of Tea's are offered as well. Hotel B'fast buffet was good , staff was friendly. Didn't explored hotel apart from that. Overall, a nice property , worth visiting next time. Copule of -ves -- No English channels offered. Can have some more Vegetarian items.
Our tour guide booked us into Hotel Meierhof for two nights. The hotel is situated just in front of the lake. Beautiful and serene view. On the first day we arrived, the weather was cool at 21 degree C. We were able to walk to the lake via an overhead bridge. The view was so serene. Mountains in the background and beautiful crystal clear lake. Mandarin ducks and swans were by the side of the lake. We took a few photos and took a cool nice scenic walk around the area in the evening. The hotel lobby is a bit stuffy and there is no airconditioning in the room. You will need to open the windows for a breath of fresh air. We were give a room on the 2nd floor overseeing the lake. Thus, we were able to watch the sunset and sunrise in the morning. The view is excellent. You could just open your window at 4+am in the morning to watch the blue and orange hue in the skyline and the sun arises behind the mountains. Only setback for a room facing the lake is the noise from the cafe below and across the streets. There is a Kebab store opposite the hotel that serves delicious Kebab in big portions. It closes late at about 11pm. Teens tend to hand around the shop of sit outside the cafe at the hotel to smoke and chat. With windows close, you won't hear the noise though. The hotel is served by two very very small lifts. At most 3 luggages with 2 persons can fit into the lift. The is water supply at the lift lobby of each floor so it is very convenient to fill up your water bottle. They have carbonated and naturale water. Breakfast at the hotel is simple with cornflakes, usual sausages, scrambled eggs, cheese baked tomatoes and croissant. There is a minimart located neat the hotel by the lake which sells juices, fruits, crackers, cup noodles and microwaveable food...just like a 7eleven store back home. You can buy your bottled water from there. At the back of the hotel, there is a bigger supermarket but it closes at 5pm (or 6pm) on weekends and thus we were not able to visit this supermarket. There are other eateries around the hotels within a 3-5 minutes walk. Pasta, pizza aplenty. There is a Thai restaurant though I can't remember its name but food is expensive and small serving. Early morning walk outside the hotel is recommended. Fresh air, nice scenery and so serene. Love this place.
Very friendly and helpful staff on reception and in the restaurant & bar Comfortable rooms, although would prefer to have control of the heating a little too warm for my liking Restaurant and bar closed on Sunday nights....
This is a small little nice hotel in Horgen south of Zurich. Just on the shore of Zurich lake. Beds are too hard for me but I guess that is all personal. Many rooms follows the German tradition of only having a narrow single bed. Quite unsettling if you aren't used to it. Restaurant on top has fabulous views over the while lake. Make sure to eat breakfast up there. Noise profile is quite different on different sides due to the railway. Also notably less noisy on the top floor.
We booked this hotel on our way home from a ski holiday and were pleased with the friendly reception and the excellent room that offered everything you need for well deserved stop. Because it was late we didn't look around in the area, but the views on the lake of Zurich were tempting and even exceptional from the lounge were we had breakfast which was very good as well.
Hotel is located in outskirts of zurich in front of river and a train track so can avoid traffic and couple of hrs drive to Mt Titlis and Mt Jungfrau. Had nice breakfast options. They have free wifi option as well.
We wanted to thank Pascale and team for an amazing three days. They delivered on everything they promised: A room with a lake view. A beautiful cot for our daughter. Fabulous food in the restaurant and free parking. Service by all staff was exceptional and speedy. So nice to have a shower that works powerfully and a bidet which you cannot find in the UK. The choice of bathroom accessories was great both and the fragrances delicious. The bed was firm but very comfortable with excellent pillows. When Hotels can do the little things exceptionally well you know they can excel in the big ones. Congratulations and we look forward to seeing you all again.
