My husband and I had a great week here. The staff were friendly, food was very good (especially beef burritos and Cobb salad!), and it's only about a 15 minute walk to town. Very tranquil. Will be back.
We stayed from Friday to Monday, extremely clean for Mexico. Felt very safe with the kids, great pool great view of the marina. Beautiful place overall. It’s very old, rooms are quite small and don’t offer any privacy with shower and bathroom. Be careful in the shower- tepid to extremely hot! The beds are terrible. But if your traveling on a budget this is your place.
We were lucky enough to visit this amazing property recently. It’s away from the hustle and bustle of Isla in a lush, waterfront location next to its own marina. The grounds are beautiful with mature palm trees surrounding the huge pool overlooking the bay. Hard to beat! The bar next to the bay is the icing on the cake. Service was friendly and attentive, especially the bar man. Dinner at their onsite restaurant, Barlito, was delicious. The menu has all the local specialties one would expect as well as some excellent treats from elsewhere. We especially enjoyed the grilled calamari ‘Provencal’, the tacos Arrancherra, the prosciutto pizza. The rooms look wonderful and we are already planning our next trip back.
We stayed here first 2 weeks of March, and I will start by saying I LOVED the pool area! We came down with friends, and our first 4oom the air conditioning broke and we were given an "upgraded room". It was much larger, and was behind the restaurant, up some stairs. The noise from the front street all day and till late at night was bad, plus we went from a very comfy king size bed, to a not so comfy queen size bed. There is no WiFi in the rooms you only get around the pool or bar. This hotel might want to bring back the free coffee for their guests, paying 3.00 for a coffee every morning is not my idea of customer service. They have a new Manager there and he was very helpful. Our friend was injured by the pool, and he was quick to respond and handled the situation. The restaurant (Barlitos) was always a must for us to visit, but for the last few years has gone down hill. The staff are great and do their best to be helpful. Please turn this place around and bring back some amenities.
This is a small, quaint hotel on the island that’s been under a new manager since the summer/fall of 2018 and is being turned around. During our trip over the Christmas 2019 holidays, the restaurant easily accommodated the restrictions of my three vegetarian/vegan kids. The pool/marina-side bar was a great place to hang out when the weather turned foul during our stay. This resort is also ideal for boaters, as it’s a great place to dock and stay for a few days.
After a booking a a different location that didn’t workout. Marina Paraiso our the smile back on our faces. Truly a hidden gem, comfortable, clean rooms, delicious food and a Marina with the most beautiful deep sea fishing boats. The grounds are well kept with lovely trees and a beautiful pool. My friend and I really enjoyed our stay here.
We have just returned from Marina Paraiso jan 31 - feb 7, 2019. cons: Areli the manager presents as lazy, unaccommodating and was constantly on her phone even when we attempted to engage her in a conversation or ask a question. She gave friends of ours a room that she knew the AC was not working as she had just transferred other guests of the room for this reason. During the first part of the stay there was sporadic free coffee available in the reception but if you asked her when it was not there, she just stated that they didn't have it today with no effort to supply it. Half way through our stay, she stated that she had taken away all free coffee. Most hotels in Isa provide free coffee and tea and about half give continental breakfast. For this price I would expect both. Coffee was 50MP and tea 45MP...which works out to 3Canadian $...way too much. - The restaurant, although convenient onsite, was overpriced. We could take a 50MP taxi into town (or walk the 25 minutes) and dine out for less than this restaurant charges. - The beds are very hard and difficult to sleep on for 7 nights. - Wifi is non existent in the rooms, but available at the restaurant - there are 2 English channels, but both news - the hotel obviously has satellite as the Superbowl was broadcast in the bar, but they do not provide this to the rooms - water pressure is very minimal and takes some time for water to warm up Pros: - Victor in the restaurant was fantastic and always helpful and smiling - the pool is nice - The day security guard was always very smiley and attempted to speak Spanglish with us and open doors for us in taxi's
We stayed here a few years ago and have since made a point of stopping here every time we are on the island. We have always bought drinks at the bar and used the pool which like almost everywhere on the island has been allowed. Until now! A year ago and even a few months ago it was still allowed if you were a paying customer so we packed up from our rental house and went off to hang out at the marina only to be told no and no matter what we ordered we couldn’t use the pool. The exact words were we have new management and they said no. There was not a single person in the pool, at the bar or the restaurant at the time we went. Clearly don’t want business, we used to rave about this place to everyone and we even have contemplated staying there again but definitely will not ever go here again! Don’t waste your time going here when there are a million other places on the island who actually what business and care about customer service.
We prefer small local hotels, some might say funky. This hotel does not have much presence from the street, but it is lovely inside. The large pool, dock and restaurant/bar areas are good places to relax during down times. The rooms and bathrooms are large and very clean. The location is great: well away from the hustle of the downtown but it is only a 15-20 minute walk to downtown. Or, a quick taxi ride, we never had a problem getting a taxi on the street in front. The restaurant is very good and a good value. The cooks were very kind to talk with me about certain ingredients and carefully accommodate a potentially serious allergy. The wait staff were terrific. The dive operation in the hotel is very good and obviously very convenient, Michel was very attentive to our skill levels and what we wanted to see. We had two rooms and in one room the staff was very helpful in bringing in a futon couch for a third person.
nice clean rooms, super big pool, good restaurant on site. And a palapa bar where a lot of the yachtsman hang out and tell stories -- tall and otherwise. Managing partners Brad and Tiffany are very helpful and have a lot of information to share about the island. This trip -- my fourth stay at Marina Paraiso, I think -- Miguel was particularly helpful. And the waiters at the attached restaurant Barlito always remember what I like for breakfast. Service with a smile. I always meet interesting people around the pool, some of whom come back every year. It's a great place for singles, couples, families. And well located, away from crowded centro and Playa Norte, sort of the middle of the island on the bay. Easy get to anywhere on the island. A number of restaurants nearby, several a short walk from the hotel.
