Complete holiday home

Very complete holiday home, large, clean, Nice garden and friendly host. The village was perfect good bakers rond the corner and a small shopping centre with a bikers, butchers,wine shop and delicatessen 10 mins walk. Caen was 10 min drive. Beaches and sightseeing also a short drive. ,

A perfect place for a perfect holiday

Centrally located in Basse Normandy, a few kilometers north of Caen, it's the perfect place for a holiday. The beach is 17 minutes away, you can walk to the baker within a few minutes. Every Tuesday the pizza baker is in the village. A traiteur and really good shops at 2 minutes by car. The racecourse is also 20 minutes. The house itself is fine. Good bed, nice garden with fence. You have optimum privacy, but when there are problems the owner is closeby.

A perfect stay...

The converted farm building was comfortable, spacious and modern. The owner spoke good English if your French is not great! Kitchen facilities were excellent. Toilets and showers on both floors. Polished tiles on the ground floor and bare floorboards upstairs help keep everything clean, but are worth noting if you're a bit unsure on your feet. Small, enclosed, private garden, with plenty of seating. Off road parking along the side of the property. Two friendly Labrador dogs from the farm were occasional visitors and although discouraged by the farm owners, they were very welcome! Cambes en Plaine is a very small, very quiet village, with a supermarket (which was closed during the week we visited in August), bakery, hairdresser and post office, so you need to travel for any major shopping. That said, Caen, the nearest town, is only 15 minutes away and features a great market on Sundays. There is also a large supermarket on the way into Caen. Overall, this accommodation was perfect for our family of four and we would have no hesitation in returning another year.

Heel fijn vakantiehuis

We hebben twee fijne weken gehad in Gite de l'Epine. Het is een mooi huis met zeer veel privacy. Het ligt naast de boerderij (akkerbouw) van de (zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame) eigenaren. Het huis is smaakvol ingericht, zeer comfortabel, met een prachtige tuin met zon en schaduw. En een zeer uitgebreide keukenuitrusting. We hebben genoten van de omgeving (Caen, de zee, het platteland en het bos). In Cambes is een bakker en epicerie. Supermarkten zijn te vinden op 5-7 minuten met de auto.

Ein liebevoll und sachkundig saniertes normannisches Haus, sehr geschmackvoll und zugleich praktikabel eingerichtet. Ein großes Plus: die freundlichen Gastgeber, die ruhige Lage am Ortsrand und der eingezäunte Garten. Eine echte Herausforderung: die steile Holztreppe. Bäckerei und Lebensmittelgeschäft (beide zu empfehlen) fußläufig im Ort; Stadt und Meer sind gut mit dem Auto zu erreichen

Die Unterkunft liegt schön ruhig, ein guter Bäcker und ein Minisupermarkt 5 Gehminuten entfernt. Die Normandie läßt sich durch die nahe Autobahn prima erkunden. Diverse Strände in 15 bis 30 Autominuten erreichbar. Wir hatten 2 wunderbare erholsame Wochen, haben viel entdeckt! Auch 3 Wochen können problemlos mit Programm gefüllt werden! Sehr zu empfehlen! Das Haus ist ein typisches schönes Steinhaus, teilweise mit alten Dielen. Ein großer Garten, eine schöne Terrasse und im Haus viel Platz!

Heerlijk onvergetelijke vakantie

Prachtig huis met een heerlijke tuin, in een mooie omgeving. Wij waren hier met 5 personen ( variërend van 50 tot 83 jaar) en een hond van 10/6 tot 24/6. Gastvrij ontvangst en heerlijke bedden. Het huis heeft wel een vrij steile trap en 2 hoge opstapjes. Voor oudere mensen kan dit een probleem zijn. Wij hebben een topvakantie gehad met alleen maar mooi weer, en hebben genoten van alle bezienswaardigheden in de omgeving.

Large comfortable home with plenty of room for 3 generations

This house was perfect for us. All 6 of us ranging in age from 80 to 8 had space to be together without crowding. The kids had the backyard and swing set to play on plus some sheep to visit with around the corner. There was a great bakery 2 blocks away for breakfast treats. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The location was away from the city but a quick drive to the Normandy battlefields and restaurants in Caen. The owner was friendly and helpful.
