This is a great fun hotel with loads for a family to do. Rooms and facilities were excellent and the team at the hotel are superb....all of them!!! Although the hotel has a great pool its a two minute walk to conil beach which is stunning, mile upon mile of soft sand. Food in the hotel is good and there are some nice local restaurants that are a stroll away.

Our grandchildren came to visit us here. They were made very welcome. There is a lovely pool and fun pool games and activities like the foam party and aquarobics. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The poolside bar is an excellent family eating place with colouring for the children to keep them occupied

Loved this hotel, rooms were beautiful, very clean, everything you needed. The breakfast was great, so much choice from smoothies to full English (something for everyone). The pool area was very clean and there seemed to be lots of activities for kids. The hotel is massive though so takes a little while to get your bearings! Would definitely visit again.

Currently staying at the hotel. The rooms are very comfortable, beds good, bathrooms good, the only downside is pretty much paper thin walls! If you don't mind the rest of your family listening in to your bathroom ablutions, then you'll be fine! We had two interconnecting rooms with our 3 kids who did tend to get woken up in the mornings by other people around us letting their doors slam on their frantic route to be first in line at the buffet as soon as it opens!! Bizarre! Evening entertainment (from someone who doesn't like evening entertainment!) is actually very good! I was very disappointed that we missed an Abba tribute night last week! The kids have particularly enjoyed the shows and special mention has to go to the entertainment staff - such enthusiasm is infectious and they obviously genuinely enjoy what they're doing. Well done them! Hotel staff are really lovely, all cheerful and very happy to help. Buffet is good, pool bar is great! Happy hour is good too! Pool area hasn't seemed to get too busy, getting a sunbed not a problem although we did book the Bali beds which is a little treat. The Tuesday afternoon pool foam party was an unexpected hilarious activity- kids particularly enjoyed it, although seemingly not as much as the entertainment staff! Hilarious! Fabulous location, a short walk to one of the the best beaches in the world! All in all, a great hotel.

Amazing facilities. Amazing food. Amazing staff. Right beside beach with an amazing pool and a fantastic service. On this region ( Cadiz) with the San Petri ( GL of Chiclana) is definitely the best hotel. This one certainly with a better relation price-value. Mostly frequented by German people but with prices quite reasonable. Definitely a must go.

I can't fault the hotel, its perfect for adults with children, entertainment is great, there is something happening all day at the hotel, keeping adults busy if you fancy it, and kids too, food is excellent, I didn't have full board and ended up not leaving hotel for lunch or dinner. staff are overly nice, rooms are perfect. I think parking should be free, but I found a free one right outside hotel and left car there the whole week. shows are entertaining and finish earlyish if you have kids. I could go on and on, try it and you will not have regrets. first holiday I relaxed and had fun and my son too. we had a teenager who was happy to have a football pitch and football tournament, also a volleyball court, paddle, indoor swimming pool with water jets. my son was happy he could go to indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi.

We visited Gran Conil for my wife's birthday. It is a large hotel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The beach is accessible via a walkway, but as it's down a cliff would be difficult for the disabled to return up the hill. The hotel has both outdoor and indoor pools and many activities for the whole family. Most visitors are German or Spanish. Food was very good although we did think it was difficult for staff to keep up with requirements at the buffet in the restaurant. Staff are all very pleasant. We had a junior suite upgrade which was very nice. I would certainly recommend this hotel for families. The whole hotel is very clean with lovely gardens.

Can't wait to return next year for our annual Easter break in Conil - first time we stayed at the Gran Conil but definitely not last. It's a superb place in every aspect - service, decor, facilities, rooms, location. The staff couldn't do enough for us and other guests. The food was good too, although not outstanding. Highly recommend.

Rooms are fine. Staying for a month (March to mid-April), my son and I liked the hotel. Pools were good, breakfast was okay i.e. plenty of choice and if you like your eggs/omelette made from scratch a wonderful woman sings whilst she cooks (one day a man did this also). Staff were friendly, very efficient and extremely helpful. Restaurant food was decidedly unimpressive. Could use a couple of good chefs (some food undercooked/served cold). Spa services were pretty good, if expensive. There are trips which are well run BUT no way of messaging other clients re: good walks, bird watching etc A message board would be great. The hotel must have an arrangement with one company for trips, a local Naturalist I contacted, was not permitted to offer his trade to people staying at the hotel. I think this is a mistake. My only other complaint is the lack of coffee making facilities in one's room - I ended up getting a coffee maker delivered via Amazon as the local kitchenware shop was shut when I arrived. First world problems. The fact that the hotel population was largely German and Spanish was cool. The guy delivering an opportunity to learn basic Spanish was great; the young people doing aqua aerobics were also brilliant.

Our expectations were high, as this hotel belongs to the Hipotel group, which we experienced and liked a lot on Mallorca. Despite the early season (early April) the hotel was very well booked, in fact on the first day we wanted to visit, it was fully booked, so that we had to choose another hotel for day one. This hotel has a large outside garden with a great swimming pool and it is very easy to walk down to the beach from the hotel. The rooms were big and very clean and we liked the large bathroom, which was very luxuriously equipped. A nice touch we felt was the flowers they put in the bathroom, Every room has a balcony, which was also very much appreciated. The staff welcomed us in a very friendly way (especially Sila on the reception desk was very helpful during our stay!). Every evening the Gran Canil has a Show Program and during the day various activities for the guests. If you like snooker, there are tables at the hotel. The breakfast- and dining-room was huge, but despite the hotel being full, the tables have quickly been cleared and we never had a problem to find an empty table. The variety of food was very large and the food itself generally of good quality, though still no match to the first-class food we had at the Hipotel on Mallorca (the Hipocampo Palace, which indeed is hard to match in our opinion). During the early season we have been there, most of the guests (mostly pensioners) were German-speaking from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The staff speaks quite well German and usually also very well English.
