Holiday Inn Express Burton Upon Trent

We have not stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before and were pleasantly surprised. I had looked at hotel details prior to booking and thankfully make a note of the noise and had therefore make a request for a room at the back of the hotel, when we got there however, this had not been done but it was soon changed. DO request this as several members of our party reported being in very noisy rooms. We were on a reunion weekend away and it was very nice to have a large lounge seating area where we could sit and chat, either with drinks from the bar or from the free tea and coffee machines in the lounge/dining area, excellent idea. The room was nice and spacious with air conditioning and tea and coffee making facilities. Bathroom, with shower only (that's fine) a good size. The room and general communal areas were very clean. Evening meal menu was quite limited but there was a pub on the same site just a couple of minutes walk. Would certainly look at Holiday Inn Express in future.

Alex on reception was such a pleasure, she was very accommodating and such a lovely person! The room was clean and the breakfast was good. We stayed here as we were visiting Alton towers and it was on the way for us.

nice rooms, good staff, and meeting rooms are okay but overpriced. the wi fi in some lobby areas is still very average despite a recent refit. The lobby could do with a few more plug sockets. coffee machines are good.

Gold member with IHG and use of Holiday Inn Express is always a comfort knowing the standards and facilities that will be welcoming you on arrival. Have to say that this hotel is a bit remote on a business park, yes it has 3 restaurants within walking distance but this was a Sunday evening and all three of them were full, noisy, cluttered tables and not very appealing.

Arrived on a Saturday evening and check in for three of us with three separate rooms was very quick and professional. All the amenities were explained, free wifi, code for car park barrier and breakfast times. Rooms were spotless and comfortable and a great buffet breakfast. A pleasant stay!

We had a great 5 night stay here with our 2 children, while visiting various locations in the surrounding areas. The hotel was very clean and the rooms had everything you needed, if you require the use of an iron then the staff are very happy to bring one up to your room. Breakfast was all fresh and plenty of it, the children enjoyed the crossiants and muffins. The staff were lovely except for one lady who was so very rude, was not helpful in the slightest and clearly dislikes her job. felt sorry for the young lad Ryan working alongside her. My 8 year daughter even commented on her rudeness 'Mummy I dont think she likes us' which upset me more than the rudeness we experienced. If trip advisor was based on staff alone then i would be giving the hotel a zero rating. The lady alexandra Gould on reception has to be the most welcoming member of staff we have come across in the holiday inn chain, she was so helpful, friendly and knowledgable of the area and damn good at her job. Nothing was to much trouble, went out of her way to help us and is a credit to the hotel. Another lady who was a waitress at breakfast time Wednesday and Thursday (she had just started with you) was delightful and clearly loved being there, My Children loved her. Housekeeping staff were all friendly and chatty, thank you lydia for tidying up after the children. Would definately book here again regardless of the rudeness we received when we come back to visit the The national memorial arboretum again.

We stayed at this hotel after attending the Bushcraft show. The hotel was 7km from the event so was great location. Check in was really friendly and efficient. We booked a room at a cost of £65 for a double room. Complimentary wifi and excellent breakfast included. Would highly recommend this hotel however ask for a room on the other side of reception as road noise was quite loud.

Booked here as going to a Sports dinner at Burton Albion football club. Booked double room B&B for £69 Friday night. Lovely big secure car park cost £3 per night Greeted at reception by 2 very pleasant and helpful staff members. Checked in very quickly. No hassle. Room just right lots of light plenty of hanging space for clothes. Little desk and a double sofa bed too. Nice clean room & bathroom. Had drink in bar before bed. Breakfast in the morning was great. Whilst busy with guest all foods & drinks were kept well stocked. Self service style. Cereal, Fruits, porridge, bread, croissants. Bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, baked beans(good quality Beans) It was all good & just what we needed! Coffee from machine was nice too. There were take away cups too, very thoughtful & take away bags so you could make a bacon bap and take it with you. It was all good. I would definitely use Holiday Inn again thanks

My wife and I spent 2 nights here . 30th april and 1st of may..We were warmly welcomed on arrival by Nikki who quickly sorted a room for us which was disabled friendly..There's a good atmosphere here and the staff are very good and efficient and helpful..The rooms were immacutely clean. The breakfasts are very good(self service) and with a variety of cereals and hot and cold drinks. Also there is a bar with a good selection of drinks. The prices are reasonable and yes, I would recommend this place.

From the moment we walked into the the hotel we were made to feel very welcome by Nicki on Reception. She was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay and a credit to the hotel. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Spacious enough for what we required. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and there was a good variety. The location of the hotel is 40 minutes from Alton Towers and also handy for Warwick Castle. Set in a good location with places to eat around it. There was an incident with noisy neighbors but this could happen in any hotel. Reception dealt with this and it was sorted quickly. A good hotel with lovely staff :)
