Great location and clean

It was hard locating the hotel, but understandably it was on pedestrian street with no access to car entrance. The location was convenient for walks, there were no signs outside to find the hotel, but once we were accommodated it was a very nice place. I thought i booked a room for 3 as it was me, wife and son, but all there was a bed and a one person sofa. I would stay at the local again if I go to Budapest, based on the locality, and cleanliness.

Amazing accommodation. Beautiful room with piano theme, quirky and spacious. Comfy beds and warm. Clean room and hotel, reception staff friendly! Will definitely be staying here again!

No hot water for showers in the evenings!

Great location and nice clean simple accommodation. We were unable to use remote control and TV and this was sorted for us promptly. A panel on one of the steps came loose, this was sorted with duck tape. Staff at reception were attentive, cheerful and helpful. I cannot say the same for the management! There was no hot water available in the evenings on all 3 days of our stay. This definitely impacted our stay in Budapest as after long days exploring the city we were unable to shower before going to bed! The manager investigated our complaint and could not explain why there was no hot water stating that he could not see the problem. However, there was a problem; there was no hot water! Unless you call the emergency telephone number after 7pm, nothing can be done as reception closes at 7pm. I e mailed reception every evening to inform them that there was no not water. I have to say that I was disappointed that nothing was actually done, even a visit from the manager, the offer to change our room or a discount for the issue of not having hot water would have been nice! The reception staff assured me that someone would be in touch with me regarding this issue, but sadly no-one has been in touch! Unfortunately we will not be staying at Walk Inn Vaci 78 again!

In general it is recommended, the room was very comfortable for 4, the air conditioning was working very well and the kitchen supplies was perfect for a small room. We did had a problem on our first day, as we read on people’s recommendation, we realised that the reception is not 24/7 available, therefore I made sure to send them email in advanced letting them know that we will come at 18:00 and asked what should I do if our flight will be delayed. They sent me a email back- don’t worry, call us in case it is after 19:00, we will instruct you how to get your keys. We came at 17:15 and no one was there and no one answered the phone. We tried to communicate with hotels.com, they were very nice tried to help us and tried to call them as well, we almost switched hotel when they suddenly answered the call- it took us almost two hours, standing at the street with two kids until we were able to enter our room- very unpleasant experience. I believe that the instructions could be given ahead over the email. Other than that, it was very pleasant stay.

Very helpful staff. There is a washer dryer in the lobby for guests to use. Ask for a room with a window. The hotel is in a complex that has private apartments and offices so your room may overlook an interior space. Also, once you figure out the access codes, it is simple.

great location and beautiful room

we had a late night "let your self in" check-in , the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. the room was big and comfortable with a kitchen and small fridge with beverages and bottled water. the location is superb and makes most of the site seeing walking distance. there are lovely cafes right out side the hotel so we barley used the kitchen. i strongly recommend

I liked this modest hotel. Staff were kind, the location unbeatable (though it's hard to get to with a taxi). My room was nicely appointed. The room I was given was good in that I did not have to lug my things up stairs. But it was also very exposed on the main floor. The main problem was that by 9 AM there was drilling and hammering going on right outside my room, it seemed. This would have been ok (maintenance is always necessary) had I been told this. But I was not informed. It meant that I was not able to sleep in at all... and this was the start of my vacation. Communication is all that is necessary. The hotel has few amenities, but that's ok, as that's reflected in the good price, and the rooms are well equipped with a mini kitchen, nice bathroom, writing desk. All in all a good experience except for the unbelievable, unexpected noise in the morning of Monday and Tuesday!
