This hotel, although cheap, did not deliver. Location was the main reason we booked and it was fenomenal, at the Jewish Quarters with lots of options for restaurants and cafes. It is also walking distance (5 mins) to Oktogon metro station which makes it very convenient. There is a 24h store right outside that comes very handy. Staff is very nice and helpful, and all of them speak perfect English. The rest, however, not so nice. The hotel is in need of a face wash. It feels old rather than classic. We asked for a quiet room and were given one, but the walls are so thin you do hear other rooms’ business. Our room was spacious but the bed was uncomfortable, with a mattress too soft that kept sinking to the middle whenever we laid down and pillows too big and hard that gave me neck pains everyday. Bathroom was old too, no hook to hang the shower head and we had to hold it all through the shower. The water coming out of the bathtub also smelled funny at first and we had to let it run for a few mins until the smell went away. Cleaning staff didn’t seem to do much besides making the bed and barely wipe the sink. We left one of our shower towels to be replaced and it was collected but never saw a new one again. Not impressed with this property, I wouldn’t stay here a second time.

Our group stayed here while we were in Budapest for Hungary v Scotland football match. Hotel is dated but adequate for a budget stay. We paid about £16 each which included a buffet breakfast. Within 5 mins walk there are lots of bars & restaurants.

We paid around 35€ for this visit. Staff at reception are very friendly and helpful but the hotel would really benefit from some tlc. Our room was decorated from around 3 centuries ago, with stained pillows and towels, as well as an unhoovered floor and some pieces of rubbish still left around. The shower couldn’t even really be classed as a shower, more like a hose to clean the wall as this is the only direction it points in. Great location but the interior of the hotel and it’s maintenance really let it down. „Continental breakfast“ consists of ham slices and a few bits of cereal. The plugs in our room didn’t work, the tv was probably older than me and lacked any functionality, and air con spat out even more hot air into our room. The hairdryer also seemed to spontaneously combust upon use and is a bit of a fire hazard in itself.

This hotel was very cute and old fashioned, Very comfortable, I stayed in a room for one and even though it had the trainings of a very old hotel, I absolutely loved the character! The staff spoke English and were incredibly friendly and helpful! Would stay again!

The hotel is perfectly located, the building is beautiful and the facilities are decent. Most of all, the stuff is professional and extremely polite and helpful. Congrats to the management for having such employees! Special thanks to David, one of the nicest receptionists I ever met! Because it's so centrally located, you might think that you'll have a problem with the parking. Don't worry about it, ask the polite stuff of the hotel and they will assist you in any matter!

Nice Hotel in a great location just around the corner from the bars and restaurants. The staff are really helpfull. They tell you about the places to visit the buses and a map to hgelp you. Budapest is a fantastic place to visit recommend it to anybody.

This hotel is in a fantastic location to see Budapest. The rooms are large with comfortable beds. We had a great stay; this was the second visit to Budapest and if we go back again we will stay at this hotel. There is a tram stop a few minutes away from the hotel and then one stop on the tram to Oktogon metro station. From Oktogon you can travel a few stops to either the Danube or to Heroes Square and the spa (and the start of the marathon, the reason we were in Budapest). The hotel provide additional towels for us to use at the spa. The continental breakfast was sufficient for us and staff at breakfast and reception were helpful and friendly. The location, combined with the great transport system in a Budapest ensure that seeing the sites is simple.

My room was on the top floor and that time there was quite hot weather, over +30. The air condition did not work, but I got some discount when I mentioned that I had paid for it. The room was really hot during the day, but I managed to cool it a bit for the nights, so I could get some sleep. The hotel and rooms are old but at least my room was clean. The staff was really nice and helpful.

Unforgettable but not in a positive manner. The hotel is outdated, old fashioned and dirty. My towels were even dirty when I wanted to dry myself off.Furthermore the old fashioned bed coverage sheets. I did not felt good for a sleep. Overall for me a no go

It is hard to explain this hotel it has a number of special features that will make it a memorable visit for me. I was given a room on the top floor which had two single beds only one being made up. To me it was like two child size bunk beds, far too small for an adult. So I requested a change and to the hotels credit they obliged and I was given a three Quarter bed in a room next to the lift. On check-in we had to pay in full for our three day stay, with hindsight this was a massive mistake. People that know Budapest would be familiar with the occasional smell of drains that you get on street corners. The first thing you notice is that the drain smell permeates up the lift shaft and if you choose to turn on the air conditioner gets pumped into the bedrooms. Next the bedding, a small duvet and tiny flat pillow fails to cover a dirty stained base and mattress, the bathroom towels are tiny and grey, my colleague even had the benefit of somebody else's long black hairs in their bath towels. My toilet would not stop flushing and the general state of the bathroom made you feel the need to not walk bare foot even when standing in the shower. I could go on about the yellow dirty walls, ancient curtains and a carpet that crunched as you walked on it. This hotel is not really fit for use it is tired, run down and filthy and should be avoided. So my recommendation is look for somewhere else, a park bench is more desirable.
