Stayed here recently, with a colleague. The room rate was around £50pp/pn. I had a room on the 2nd floor. The below is obviously a reflection of the way the property made me feel and how I felt by staying there. Check in was a quick, but odd affair. My booking was confirmed, I was thrust a key (not wallet, or reminder of the room number) and I was on my way. My room had a bed, a bright overhead light (no lamps), a wooden floor, so every footstep was amplified, no curtains (a mere venetian blind against the window) - so the room felt cold and sterile. The double bed was comfortable, but was placed up against a wall, so only one way in and out of the bed (always a sign that the room is not big enough). The bathroom was well designed and functional. The shower was pleasant. I had a good night's sleep here, but I cannot say it was comfortable, nor did it feel particularly safe I'm being honest. Every noise from every door, corridor and room is amplified due to the flooring and lack of soft furnishings in the room to create any warmth or comfort. I declined to take breakfast at the hotel in the morning. I had a good night's sleep in the end and the bed was comfy and for the price paid, it was fair. However, it felt cold and sterile to me. I would say check out was easy and pleasant - easy it was, pleasant less so. No-one on reception - so I hung around, still no-one for about 10 minutes. Eventually someone arrived - I offered my room key and said I was going, I got the bare minimum of reaction. I checked everything was ok from my side? No reaction - just the key card left on the desk for someone else to obviously deal with it. And with that, she was gone. As was I.
Up for a 2 day work related course. Didn’t fancy facing the M25 journey twice in 24 hours. So found the Buckingham Hotel to lay my head for the night. Fitted my requirements perfectly for the over night stay. Good size room clean&tidy, kettle to make a brew perfectly adequate. Wouldn’t be my choice for a weekend away with the wife, but perfect for work related purposes. Being a building manager I didn’t mind the clientele that frequent’s this establishment. Would use again if this way in the future.
Stayed for one night , needed dog friendly accommodation. Check in friendly at the hotel, then short drive to the apartments. Ample parking and nice garden . Our apartment was on the first floor. Hall, big double bedroom, bathroom then lounge/kitchen/diner that had twin beds in. Fine for what we needed. Road is busy but we didn't experience bad traffic noise. tea, coffee provided and basic kitchen utensils etc. Cleaner arrived two hours before check out, let herself in and was not happy we weren't ready to leave, not what you expect during a stay. Some of the apartment fixtures need maintenance. Overall a good basic choice for pet friendly accommodation.
Had to make a very last minute trip to Wycombe and booked in here for 2 nights. I had a single room which was absolutely fine. The bed was very comfortable and l was a little surprised initially to see a kitchen sink with microwave and fridge which turned out to be an absolute godsend due to the fact l hadn't eaten since breakfast and didn't want to wander the streets alone at night looking for somewhere to eat. There was everything you needed in the room. Great breakfast times too from 7am till 1030am. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff l met were very friendly and helpful. En suite was adequate and shower powerful. The shower cubicle was quite small and no little shelf to put shampoo etc on so you're bending up and down constantly and given its a small cubicle your banging bits of your body of the cubicle walls!! Not a major issue for most but could be if someone has knee/hip problems. There is a comfortable bar lounge with a tv and whilst the small bar is not hugely stocked they did a very nice Pinot Grigio and only £4 for a very large glass!! I would stay here again for a couple of nights if l was in the area.
We stayed 2 nights with Ollie our dog and for what we needed it was OK. Clean, very tidy, large apartment. Good size open plan lounge/kitchen, large bathroom and good size bedroom. We had apartment 3 which had a balcony joined to another apartment no separation which was off putting as you did not feel secure with the doors open and a large group of contractors next door. The area including pubs seems to cater for mass contractors The view was very good and the back garden joined a lovely park for the 🐶. The main road is very busy at the front of the property but it's a short walk to a pub and takeaway also Budgeons supermarket I guess this is why there are so many contractors.
if you are looking for a budget priced GOOD hotel that is clean comfortable then you would not be disappointed with this hotel . the staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast was plentiful and well presented.
Stayed here whilst working away decent hotel Rooms were clean Comfy bed All round decent hotel The only bad points I would say are the rooms were very hot on a night which made it hard to sleep so could have been better if a fan was provided
Depending on your requirements. I was working away so comfy bed, power shower and toilet is what I needed. Rooms are clean and comfy slightly dated pieces of furniture in some rooms but generally warm clean and fresh.
We stayed for two nights. The room was clean and of a reasonable size but the shower area was miniscule. An odd mixture of three pillows in a twin room - one very solid, one reasonable and the third very thin and 'floppy' Outside there was a loose manhole cover and whenever a vehicle passed over this it resounded in our room. Parking was bit limited and access to it was often blocked by van type vehicles right in the entrance. Breakfast was adequate although it seemed strange to be served a cup of hot water and a Teabag in the UK - it is a situation we are more used to experiencing on the continent. There was only white bread toast, no wholemeal or fresh rolls, croissants etc Noisy folk in the room above affects our rating on the 'quiet' hotel.
