We stayed one night. After an 8 hours drive we arrived at 5.00pm and had to wait 50 minutes for the room to be ready. Reception dismissive, no explination and we were sent to the bar. No courtesy drink, no apology for the delay. Evening meal: chicken breast with mushrooms and potatoes which turned up to have one slice of a potato and very few slices of a mushrooms. Room turned up to be very noisy due to a weeding. We could not sleep all night. The floor was vibrating because of the music and my wife found refuge in the bathroom to escape the noise. We had paid over the internet and next day the reception tried to charge us again. We had to show them the internet receipt not to pay again. Very disappointing stay considering that, in our booking, we asked for a quite room. Staff arrogant and rude. We have been few times to Romania and this was the first time we tried Crowne Plaza which turned up as the worst we experienced. We felt cheated and robbed as they must have known the room would be noisy. Also, be aware, the parking charge is 7euro/day and there is no other option to park elsewhere if you stay at the hotel.
I spent a night at the Crowne, found the staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. Due to its location, the place is very quiet. The room was comfortable with all the necessities I would expect. Breakfast was average, though.
the check-in was inferior, the clerk was given me very low information and was no so friendly, his colleague was nicer.. it started bad but after a few hours i meeted a guy in the name lazran who helped me with a taxi and with the booking for a tour. the crew are a little bit cold except the concirge team. the front desk have not a clue about places to see or visit, the concirge are missing a lot of time. the garden of the hotel amazing! if the crew was more friendly it was a very good hotel...
Everything was amazing, the room, the service, the food. This is a very beautiful hotel with a nice, classical design, very professional staff, clean rooms, amazing restaurant, excellent food, the breakfast was also good, everything was perfect.
We weren't sure what to expect as someone else had booked the hotel for us. As we approached we were not impressed as we found the building itself to be quite ugly. We had an apartment, however and were shocked at how beautiful and spacious it was! It was obviously recently redone and just looked amazing! We only had one night booked and I didn't want to leave afterwards! Breakfast the next morning was also very yummy! I would definitely stay here again!
I have been several times in Crowne Plaza; before and after its renovation that took place around 2015 if I am correct. Basically we talk about two different hotels. The renovated is a real 5 star hotels They have a very nice and big indoors swimming pool and a fitness center for those loving sports Breakfast can match every demand and the bar area is decorated really nice. The only "disadvantage" is that Bucharest downtown is not in walking distance and you need to catch a taxi to go there.
Even though the rooms could look better, they look exactly as the pictures so you know what to expect. Breakfast was amazing, rooms were exceptionally clean and I really loved their attention to detail you find throughout the rooms.
This is the first time I stay at a 4 stars hotel because I can’t afford one in other places I’ve been so far. But Bucharest is rather cheap and I decided to pamper myself. I spent the weeks before my vacation dreaming of the bathtub in my room and the pool at the hotel only to have the following events unfold: 1) I arrived at the Hotel at 4 AM and went right to sleep and was awaken at 8 AM by construction noises. I went down to the reception and complained. As it turns out the pool is under construction and will be closed until September! This was not advertised on the hotel’s website when I booked the room, there was no email notification and the concierge didn’t tell me when I checked it. They switched my room immediately to face the other direction, it was indeed quiet BUT it had a shower and not a tub! So, my vacation starts with no tub and no pool. The next day there was an event in the garden and someone was singing very badly and very loudly - that ended at approx.. 23:00, and the night after that there was an event at the hall on ground floor - music was blasting until after 1 AM. And “to finish strong”, the reception called and woke me up on my last night because the transfer I order back to the airport was accidentally booked to 4 AM instead of PM. Overall, the staff is very nice and service oriented and the room has everything you need (kettle, mini bar, hair drier, etc.) but all these mishaps sure ruined my vacation.
Very nice welcome at the reception. Clean and renovated rooms. Only had the time for a beer and burger in their restaurant - overpriced as usually in business hotels, but good taste and service. No restaurants in walking distance. Sleep was not so good though: loud music from neighboring Ramada hotel, so I had to close the windows and switch on the aircon (otherwise difficult to breath all night without fresh air), which is loud even at lowest setting. I would stay here again, but ask for a room in a different corner.
Business trip to Bucharest (last week of June 2017). THE stay at the hotel was very nice. Perfect. Good restaurant., great bufete in the morning. The staff very nice too. This week, the gym area was out of service.
