Best Western Plus Mari Vila Hotel Bucharest3.0 out of 5.0

Mari Vila hotel is located near the highway, thus being easily accessible whereas the same road leads into the heart of Bucharest. There are several nearby alternative roads to connect you to where you need to be if on business in Bucharest. The hotel itself is relatively new and has a car parking on two sides as well as a Nicely shaded outside garden for a nice morning coffee. The rooms are solid, clean and the bed is more than comfortable. I rarely find good pillows but this room had them! I have stayed in this hotel a few years ago and it didn't change - still remains solid. Bathroom could use some upgrading but it was clean and big enough. Breakfast is served in the Mezannine floor and provides a continental styls buffet. Also, could be better, with more food and wider selection of food but, this is the same in hotels all over the world. Checking in and checking out was quick and simple and staff is polite. Recommended to business travelers coming to Bucharest with car and looking for a calm, quiet and decent place to stay. Hotel overall is inexpensive as hovels and literal dumps in the center of Bucharest cost 2-3x more. Recommended!
Today we ordered lunch at this hotel The waiter recommended us the menu of the day. We accepted, but when the soup arrived together with the bread, surprise ... the bread was full of green mold! The waiter told us that bread has that green colour actually because it was frozen and not because it's made who knows when ... However the waiter insists that the soup is good but we did not have the courage to eat. I do not recommend at least to eat there.
After driving thru remote areas in Romania all we it was lovely to get back to an American style hotel. Very clean and comfortable. It's also got a fabulous free breakfast buffet and plenty of on site parking.
Left after 4 hours. The noise in the hotel was a joke. Other guests partying in their rooms with loud music and extensive noise. Asked staff for a new room, was told no and was told by the reception boy that if I didn't like it there were many other hotels in Bucharest. Shamefully rude staff as well as unhelpful and a poorly cleaned room. It is understandable why they have low rates - you get what you pay for.
It was an fine experience. Clean room and spacious. Has a minibar and you can pay in euro if you prefer over local currency. It is just fine if you are heading to Constanta. Free parking. The personnel was friendly.
The rooms are Clean. The bar/ restaurant closes At 22. And the dinner is Poor. You alinat don T have what to chose to eat. The staff not So friendly, they are playng in the phones At dinner. Not quite a 4 star hotel
I only stayed one night , together with some business-partners and appreciated the friendliness and service of the personal and the quietness and cleanliness of the entire premises. The rooms are large, and well equipped and the breakfast is delicious. The only minus up to me is the speed of the Wi-Fi !
After traveling for an extended period in areas with local hotels, it was refreshing to return to familiarity of the US hotels and their opulence. This hotel is exceptional, especially when compared to the other options in the area. I have nothing but praise for this location. As far as suggestions go, I would suggest that they work on expanding their options in their spa. Only one (warm) Jacuzzi and sauna as opposed to a smaller hotel with two Jacuzzis and three sauna options. This was barely even an inconvenience, though, so the next time I am in Bucharest, you can bet I'll be staying at best western. Another piece of advice: Taxis tend to get very confused when going from the city to this hotel. If you mention the hotel with reference to the main roads next to it, they will understand. Also be wary, we had one taxi driver try to charge us three times the normal rate due to imaginary taxes that he didn't actually have to pay. A standard ride to or from the city should cost you no more than 20 lei or so. (They tried to charge us 60-70!)
Excellent service, good food, spotlessly clean. The air conditioning seemed to have no impact on the heat of the room. Location suited my departure from Bucharest but not convenient to downtown Bucharest.
Room very clean; staff friendly. Breakfast is very and you can choose a wide variety (cereals, scramble eggs, ham, cheese, etc). During cold season rooms are not so well heated. Free parking. Free WiFi. Location at the outskirts of the city, but you have the end of the subway line nearby. There is also a big supermarket nearby and also a gas station. Excellent value for your money.
