Booked three nights initially, with some apprehension given the negative reviews, but I ended up staying 15 days with FULL SATISFACTION. My room was very quiet, very spacious, very clean, with decent furniture (NOT Ikea-like; far better) and SUPERB WIFI, decent Cable TV, a fully functional small fridge and portable air-conditioner, all of this in what could be the best location in Brussels. What more could you ask? OK, the downside is indeed the breakfast; Buffet but needs improvement. May I suggest omelette and waffle station; very easy to accomplish and will vastly improve this hotel.
By today's standards, the shower was too small, there was no iron in the room, and the heat couldn't be regulated. I had to open a window to sleep. Of course it was noisy outside early in the morning.
The location is great but I didn't have access to Internet during my stay. The Wifi was terrible. I had to go to the lobby of another hotel to be able to receive my emails. The only positive thing about this hotel was that the staff were nice and helpful,
I stayed at the hotel four nights. I had meeting in Brussels close to the hotel. The hotel was very good for such purpose. Staff were very friendly and helpful all through my stay.
Very poor breakfast. Hot coffee and cocoa come from machine and is awful. Staff not super helpful. Smelled musty and was old.
Huge room, but outdated. This is an old hotel. Room had a bad, unbearable smell (as if something had been burnt inside it) that did not go away even after opening the windows for a long time. Furthermore, this was supposed to be a non-smoking room but it had ashtrays in it... The beds were bad (plain cheap foam mattresses). Free internet available only at lobby, not in the room. CRT TV too small to see anything from the bed. Polite staff at the reception desk. Good breakfast with variety of food (included in price) but only vending-machine-like coffee was available (not so good).
The location is great and thankfully we only stayed one night. The beds are bad, pillows are even worse and we got a non-smoking room that had the smell of death.
I stayed at Le Dome for two nights; I booked the room due to past reviews and location. However, the lack of service and amenities made the stay disappointing. I found the staff to be cold and annoyed by the guests; during the check in process the staff member barely made eye contact with me and did not speak to me directly- not even to say hello or confirm my room number. Later, when I asked for the password to the wireless internet, she mumbled it, again without eye contact. When I asked her to repeat it, she glared at me and asked if I needed her to write it down or could I possibly remember it. I didn't appreciate that as a guest in the hotel. The rooms are basic with no frills; my room had two beds pushed together with a firm mattress and lumpy pillows. The room was very large with plenty of space to move around, and the bathroom was also spacious and clean (but very dated- not a modern bathroom!). Free wireless internet is only available in the lobby; you cannot get the signal from the guest rooms. I heard street noise and sirens all night long. Location is great- a 5 minute walk to Brussels Nord and a short walk to shopping and sightseeing. All in all, I won't stay at Le Dome again. The hotel did not meet my expectations, and I won't go anywhere that I feel so unwelcome again.
